Senator Schmitt should get into the Congressional baseball game HOF for this catch.

I bet on long shots in sports.

I thought of betting the Knicks at half time then decided it was a bridge too far.

    Stupid bastard.

Rs win Congressional baseball game 11-2.

Sen. Schmitt was MVP, made amazing outfield play.

    It must mean something.

  3. “The Knicks are 0-1 when Trump attends a playoff game. The Knicks are 1-0 when Taylor Swift attends a playoff game. The best players on the Knicks are from Villanova. The Pope is from Villanova.

Maybe DW can work out the deeper meaning in all of this.”

That’s a tough one. Gotta work in the Texas angle too with San Antonio’s epic collapse. Maybe it all means that failed candidate Jasmine Crockett will run for pope after the current pope gives up the gig to become Villanova’s next basketball coach, with Trump becoming the coach of the Spurs, and Swift coaching the Knicks.

Come on Charles, tell us how you really feel…

“We saw the dumbest basketball team in the history of civilization,” Barkley said.

“They had a [29]-point lead and took eight straight 3s. Like, that was some of the most mismanaged and stupid basketball.”

“The San Antonio Spurs helped the New York Knicks win this game by doing some of the most stupid ass stuff I’ve ever seen on a basketball court,” Barkley concluded.

“De’Andre Fox, whatever his name is. De’Aaron Fox,” Barkley said. “That was a dumbass play. There was no reason for him to shoot that ball.”

If Philadelphia fans did this, it would be huge story. But it won’t be because drunks throwing snowballs at a drunk skinny Santa nearly 60 years ago is a bigger story.

  7. poorly coached game. You can’t blow a 29 pt lead.

  8. Apparently, you can blow a 29 point game. Taking threes instead of bleeding clock and then driving to the basket is insane. I coach rec basketball and even I know that.

  10. “Taking threes instead of bleeding clock” Exactly. If it was a pre-season exhibition game you might just keep throwing up threes because there is nothing to lose. But game 4 of the Finals when you are on the road and down two games to one and leading by 25?

Fox should have driven to the basket, turned around, and dribbled back to mid court. That would have eaten at least another 5 seconds and forced NY to foul with under 10 seconds to go, maybe 7 or 8.

Make both FTs and you are up 3 you can even give up a 2 FT foul.

Even had he made the 2 pt layup, he would have given the Knicks like 13 seconds to set up a real play and tie.

At that point in the game, eating up the clock was more important than scoring.

Duke threw away the NCAA championship by not holding on to the ball. But Fox is a pro.

  13. Still have a hard time believing San Antonio lost the game last night. Perhaps the greatest meltdown since Chernobyl. The Spurs just can’t finish the job. In the first game they were down 15 points in the 3rd quarter….tried to make a comeback but fell short. In game two the Spurs rallied from 14 points down in the 4th quarter to lose by 1 point.

Then last night they had that huge lead only to blow it.

Now the Spurs go back to San Antonio with their backs against the wall.

You need a really good coach to overcome a letdown like that. Not sure the Spurs coach is that person.

He obviously did not tell the team to stop putting up threes when all he needed to do was manage the huge lead….keep trading baskets, eat up the clock up on each possession, draw fouls.

“We got on our heels — we missed some shots,” Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said. “It’s disappointing, to say the least.”

    Zzzzzz…….

  15. Oh boy, the Iranians have done it now. Really pissed our President by downing our helicopter over the strait. This time he means business!! “We’re taking Kharg Island SOON”

    Yeah, sure you are, chief!!

This has gotten so pathetically, lame with the constant idol threats. The Iranians have got to be laughing their asses off every time our TACO in chief opens his pie hole with another threat, he doesn’t have the balls to carry out. Every time he makes a threat and doesn’t follow through, he looks just that much weaker and further emboldens the bastards.

Just shut up, Donald. Drawing lines you have no intention of backing up just makes the situation worse. If you are going to do nothing, then do nothing and at least shut up with the bravado.

I don’t really agree with that analysis.

I think Trump is playing a bigger game than just destroying sh-t in Iran.

I think he is trying for a regional agreement that isolates Iran politically from the rest of the ME and at the same gets Israel at least recognized by the Saudis and Gulf States. An isolated Iran will have trouble funding Hamas and Hezbollah, and an expanded Abraham Accords would do a lot for peace in the ME.

Will he be successful? Not sure, but I think the risk-reward justifies a less aggressive approach.

However, I agree it cannot go on indefinitely, at some point he has to either commit to a militarily strategy or come to a deal, good or bad.

According to Keerthika Uthayakumar, NBA teams were 4-750 in the playoffs when down by 20 points or more in the fourth quarter in 30 years of play-by-play data.”
