    Cataract surgery in 2022 went great. But in about 1/2 of cases a bubble appears within first 3 or so months and they have to do some correcting procedure magic to correct that.

    Supposed to take about 10 minutes once I see the doctor.

    Then they had me take 16 little things without of color in them…shades of blue, green peach and some other color

    tell me to put the 16 shades in order

    I did. But when they turned them over they had numbers on them. I think I failed. My numbers were 1 2 4 3 15 14 13 12 and the other numbers 5 6 7 etc.

    Not sure what other things are on this quiz.

    I hope they do not ask me the color of the feather in Ataualpas headband. I always missed that question in Latin American history class in college 60 years ago.

Trump knows Iran is not serious about negotiating. Obvious to all. My guess is that Trump has allowed Iran to tool around on negotiations for two reasons. One, to demonstrate to the world he has given Iran every chance to negotiate a peaceful solution. He’s bent over backwards. Second, since he knows negotiations are going nowhere, he wants Iran to be the ones to break the ceasefire so he can then have the excuse to do what he knows has to be done.

    “The indictment drew scrutiny from conservative legal scholar Jonathan Turley, who called the indictment “facially unconstitutional, absent some unknown new facts,” and Welker asked Blanche whether those unknown facts actually exist. He confirmed they do, again pointing to the timeline. “If the only facts that existed was the posting of the Instagram, obviously that wouldn’t have taken 11 months,” Blanche said. He added that prosecutors are “prepared” to prove every element of the crime beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”

  19. Here is my prediction for the forthcoming UFO data dump:

    It will contain only more of what we already have. More testimonies of pilots saying they saw stuff…bright lights, objects moving fast, strange flight patterns, etc.

    It won’t include anything close to things like a warehouse full of captured alien spacecraft. Just because something is labeled a UFO doesn’t mean its from outer space. It just means its unidentified, it appeared to be flying, and it appeared to be an object.

    Lots of things can give the illusion of something flying or being an object when it isn’t.

    I once saw a UFO. Saw a large orange colored sphere from the east, and at first I thought it was Venus seen with an orange color due to being closer to the horizon. But then I realized it was in the sky as I could see it moving. No flashing lights, no sound, just a large sphere with a consistent illuminated color throughout. I got into the car and tracked it for about 5 miles, and it seemed to be moving over 55 mph but not a lot more as I was able to stay with it, while I could see it was still moving away to the west faster. No idea what it was, nothing was ever reported in the news, and I don’t drink, so it wasn’t that.

  31. DW, I submit to you a man’s argument on Quora that Judas did not, in fact, “betray” Jesus, but rather merely handed him over, and it’s pparently just a two millenia-long misunderstanding thanks to our old friend, Koine Greek;

    *****************************************************************************************

    The koine word used by all four gospellers to describe what Judas did to Jesus was ‘paradidomi’. Centuries of translators have rendered it into English as ‘betrayed’. But every other time the word ‘paradidomi’ appears in the gospel texts, translators render it into English as ‘gave’, ‘gave up’, or ‘handed over’.

    When Jesus is ‘handed over’ to Pilate? Paradidomi. When Pilate ‘handed over’ Jesus to be crucified? Paradidomi. When Jesus ‘gave up’ his spirit on the cross? Paradidomi. Even when Jesus is talking about his arrest to his disciples, and says “The Son of Man must be handed over” – which is the same event as him being in the garden with Judas – that’s paradidomi, too.

    Only when it is used in reference to Judas is the word paradidomi translated into English as ‘betrayed’, a sense that the Greek word simply does not have. This is entirely a bias of the first translators, who wanted the story to have a villain; a bias which later translators have simply followed blindly. But the text also clearly states that Judas hands Jesus over BECAUSE JESUS TOLD HIM TO (“What you are to do, do quickly”). There’s NO sense of betrayal in the Greek text at all. They arranged it between them.

  36. But where that garbage comes from is those pushing the gnostic gospels as the “real” story instead of the New Testament. I forget which one, but one of them tried to make Judas the hero because only he understood Jesus that the body was evil and spirit was good, so the only right thing to do is get rid of the body via being killed or suicide. All it proves is that there were crackpots in the 2nd century just like there are today, and that crackpots could write.

  39. You’ll love this one, too;

    We are looking at two thousand years of bias, and an egregious mistranslation. The Gospels were written in a pidgin dialect of Greek called ‘koine’, which was the Lingua Franca of the Roman Empire at the time. Of the four gospellers, Luke and John have the best grasp of koine Greek (Luke because he was a doctor, therefore educated, and John probably because his Gospel was written much later than the other three, so he took more time to polish his knowledge of the language); Matthew’s koine is workable (if he was the apostle Matthew, then as a tax collector he interacted regularly with the Roman occupiers, and used koine in his business). Mark’s koine is rubbish.

    Like

  40. that is of course rubbish too. John likely wrote his gospel from Ephesus, modern day Turkey, exact date unknown, but a discarded fragment copy of his gospel was dug up in Egypt, and dated to A.D. 125-175. F.C. Baur had famously claimed the gospel of John was written later because the Christology was simply too complex to have been composed by ignorant fishermen. Then that early gospel fragment was discovered, rendering Baur’s claims an epic failure.

  41. If you want a REAL example of centuries of bad English translation work, go with the Greek term doulos. It simply means a slave. A first century slave is a person without autonomy, is the property of someone else and the institution was more or less the same as slavery in America except one big difference being first century slavery lacked a racial component. But many English translations use terms like servant or bond-servant. But in Koine usage doulos is always a slave, not someone who punches a timeclock and goes home at night.

And Schiff has always been in the infield of those willing to do anything to position himself for a higher position in government.

  43. But claiming that contextually there is a difference between “hand over” (for arrest and execution) and “betrayed” (for arrest and execution) is a bit like claiming Bill Clinton was telling the truth when he said, “I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” either on the grounds that her act was not technically sex, or that he was really speaking the words publicly, but to Monica, telling her, “I did not have sex with that woman (Hillary), Miss Lewinsky.”

Being the only woman left in the race, she probably though that would pay off, but she’s just so awful that even AWFULs have a hard time voting for her. Still, having Lizzie Warren et al come out swinging for her and taking pot shots at Steyer for his investments in private prisons (which the ads say held both people of color AND immigrants) as well as knocking Becerra on his coziness with corporate interests (they have him on record defending Chevron giving him money), maybe she will manage to hold both back a little.

    I am worried that Bianco is fading into lower teens as of late, Trump really screwed us by endorsing Hilton; POTUS should have stayed out of it instead of anting to bask in the glow of a “winner” who will only win the primary and then get blown out in the GE without another Republican to run against.

  49. Bitter, that is correct. All we know about Mary Magdalene from the New Testament is that Jesus cast out seven demons who were inhabiting her, and she was there at the cross and the resurrection, being the first one to the tomb. Again, the gnostic gospels try to create a different presentation about Mary Magdalene, making her the true disciple of Jesus who really understood him, whereas the men were a bunch of dolts.

    Not sure what men would want to hire a prostitute who was possessed by seven demons.

Date: May 3, 2026 Source: Foundational Questions Institute, FQXi Summary: Physicists are rethinking one of quantum mechanics’ biggest puzzles: how fuzzy possibilities become definite reality. New research suggests that spontaneous “collapse” processes—possibly linked to gravity—could subtly blur time itself. This wouldn’t affect clocks we use today, but it reveals a hidden limit to how precise time can ever be. The findings open a new path toward uniting quantum physics with gravity.”
