Mahan just came out against the billionaire tax, he is the mayor of San Jose, I don’t see him dropping out and I think he gets more than 4%.

The math is the Dems are a lock for 60% of the vote, maybe 62%.
I think for both Rs to get in no Dem can get more than say 18% and the 2 Rs split the R vote fairly evenly.
So if the Dems get say 18%, 16%, 15% and 10% and 3% or 4% for the total of the others the Rs could conceivably prevail with one getting 21% and the other 19%.
I put the odds of that happening to be around 20%. Better than nothing.

The problem for the Dems is that their “frontrunners” are deeply flawed candidates and it is unlikely any of them can break through for a dominant position.
I don’t see Porter or Steyer or Swalwell dropping out to support one of the other two. But for the Rs to win, the 2nd tier Mahan, Becerra and Villaraigosa have to stay in, and mostly likely one or more will drop out.
Send them a check.

That would be wonderful! Every single Republican in California better get out and vote in that primary, and make sure to bring another voter with them who will vote for the other of the 2 candidates. Let’s go!

Rest assured that if the scenario in CA jungle primary plays out that the the top two who advance to the general are both Rs, that
2. The Ds will suddenly change the rules to either allow the top 3 advance to the general or something else to prevent two Rs facing each other for governor
3. somehow assist in the untimely death of one of the two top Rs and demand that whoever D came in 3rd in the primary move up to #2 and be declared the winner of the General Election and cancel the actual election,–thereby saving CA many millions of dollars to be used in various fraudulent schemes.

Ten top reason Paul votes for Democrats.
#10. I vote Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my refrigerator.
#9. I vote Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon at 15% isn’t.
#8. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
#7. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
#6. I vote Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I am also thankful that we have a 911 service that get police to your home in order to identify your body after a home invasion.
#5. I vote Democrat because l’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy.
#4. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take away Social Security from those who paid into it.
#3. I vote Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrat Party sees fit.
#2. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
#1. I vote Democrat is because I think it’s better to pay billions for oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher or fish here in America. We don’t care about the beetles, gophers or fish in those other countries.”

A R California governor? Don’t know. I did, however, noticed that #3 thru #10 (all D’s) added up to 51% or a majority or much more than the two R’s (33%) combined.

John, that’s the point. In the primary, the top two advance. So the only shot the GOP has is if their two candidates finish #1 and #2 in the primary.

Statistically unlikely two Republicans advance in California, but if it happens, the top Democrat runs as a write-in against two Republicans and it would not be too difficult to win a plurality there.
LikeLike
just saying, it’s not allowed. From the CA.gov page:
Can independent or write-in candidates for voter-nominated offices run in the general election? No. All candidates, including candidates who would have used the former independent nomination process, are allowed to run for a voter-nominated office in a primary election. All primary candidates for an office are listed on a single ballot, and only the two candidates who get the most votes in the primary election will move on to the general election. Write-in candidates for voter-nominated offices can still run in the primary election. However, a write-in candidate can only move on to the general election if the candidate is one of the top two vote-getters in the primary election.

I don’t think you can do that.
From the CA SOS:

Doesn’t really matter. The final split will be something like 60-40.
If too many Dems split the 60, two candidates from the 40 can get through.
