Watched both the Oscars and the USA/DR WBC game last night….going back a forth. What a Sunday night, on both accounts. Team USA gets to play the winner of the Italy/Venezuela (tonight) for the title.
Actually enjoyed the Oscars. I would give the show an A-. It was well done, mostly in good taste, just maybe a small political blip or two and that was it. I was pleasantly surprised.

I think the awards for Best Picture, Actor and Actress made sense but I would have given the movie award to Sinners.
I really don’t know to judge the acting awards since the roles are so different. A stoned revolutionary vs. cousins played by one actor in a vampire movie?
The actress in Hamnet mostly screamed through 3 childbirths and 1 death. Then she was moved by watching Hamlet and thinking about her son. That was pretty much it. I did not get the Norwegian film’s appeal.

I guess Frankenstein WAS inclusive and also represented monsters. However it did not represent gay monsters or transgender monsters so it has to be cancelled.
