  4. Damn, that’s what was going to guess. Now we have to narrow it down. North Sea or Baltic?

It wasn’t a dead giveaway as there are precious few clues (can’t make out any of the writing on the buildings in the distance). That trick is a Mercedes, though, which was the basis of my guess.

  8. Glad DW didn’t require the City. I thought it was Hamburg. Visited there during an Octoberfest trip one year. That looked just like it.

  9. FLA, I was leaning to Hamburg as well simply because I couldn’t find anything in the photo to suggest where it was taken. Like I said above, I stabbed in the dark due to the MBZ truck, but that’s all I had going for me. In retrospect, Kiel makes sense as the facility pictured is much smaller in size than what one would find in Hamburg or Bremen (or even Wilhelmshaven, for that matter).

  10. Yes, GF. That Mercedes truck and the circular sign did it for me. I thought I saw signs like that in Hamburg, so that’s what did it for me.

  11. Funny, but I was told by some people here that this was a “cult”-

Polling shows growing number of Republicans identify with the MAGA movement. 71% or Republicans and more than 1/3 of registered voters identify themselves as MAGA followers.

  13. Zzzzzzzz The Cult continues to misuse the term deadenders. It was first used at HHR to describe people who thought Christine “I’m not a witch” O’Donnell was a great Senate candidate.

  14. Bitter,

Akin was the worst deadender, because it was the most winnable seat thrown away with both hands.

  16. DW, wasn’t Akin already the nominee when he torpedoed himself with his mouth? Without that he was likely to win, iirc.

The R voters in Delaware chose The Witch knowing Castle(sp?) might have a shot to win?

The latter seems to fit the deadender title better, imo.

  18. DW, they were both disasters, for sure.

  19. Castle had NEVER lost a statewide race in Delaware and would have cruised to victory. But the deadenders wanted the witch. Fake Moderate Chris Coons in now in his third term in the Senate.

  26. More good news ( for some of us)!-

A new survey from DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners found that the Republican president still remains popular with more than half of the country.

His current approval rating sits at 54 percent the new survey found. That’s a tie with his all-time highest.

‘For all the events of the past ten days, we find the President’s approval rating unchanged and now at its joint highest ever,’ said pollster James Johnson.

  27. The Harvard Harris poll was done by Harvard’s Center for American Politcal Studies. The Trump Administration just froze $2.2 billion (yes, BILLION) in Federal Funding for Harvard. Will this affect the polling done by this group?

  28. Good question, JG. On a funding level, I’d say not being reliant on the government might make it more believable. But, it’s still a school poll, and they tend to be biased toward D’s. DW’s opinion would be informative, imo.

The Chinese Progressive Association gave Judge Indira Talwani its Workers Justice award in 2012. This group has deep ties to the CCP. This judge is now trying to stop Trump from reversing legal status for hundreds of thousands of migrants allowed in by Biden.

  30. After another 3 hours double checking the Fed and STate income tax forms and math (yes, I found mistakes) I am now done switch taxes for the 2024 tax year.

But I am sure WV DEpt. of Revenue will find something to adjust, or financially penalize me for.

  31. Various places around the country have had their tax dates extended due to natural disasters. Living in Los Angeles county our’s are not due until Oct. 15th because of the Palisades and Eaten fires. BTW, Hwy 1 remains closed for a long stretch as they try to clear out miles of burnt-down homes. What businesses did survive are being economically crushed by the elimination of traffic by their restaurants and places of business.

  35. Good answer Chicon!

I think Trump is at an impasse with Zelenskyy and his rotating demands. Now Z wants Trump to personally travel to Ukraine before any peace deal can be struck. Before that, he wanted nuclear weapons. Also, he continues to ask for NATO membership, which no one wants to give him. His petulant “asks” are actually making his existence in peace negotiations more irrelevant- much like a whining child is tuned out by his parents.
