We have company this weekend. They want to watch the SB instead of my suggestion of Duck Commander reruns.
So I will have to subject myself to endless woke messages, woke ads, woke shots of Taylor Swift unless I can think of something plausible to do during the game. No, cleaning guns is not going to work, I already used that this week twice to escape from a chick flick and a home improvement project.
On the upside, I will be able to comment on the game without Bitter telling me I can’t comment on something unless I watch it, which is akin go saying you have to eat a whole rotten apple to be able to say it is rotten.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report that went viral this weekend.
The report detailed that the federal government spent over half a trillion dollars on programs that expired last year without ever actually authorizing the funding.
About 2,500 expired appropriations made up the $516 billion. That is no way to run a government.

On Friday’s edition of ‘Real Time’ on HBO, host Bill Maher criticized the NFL’s “End Racism” slogan in the endzone as “stupid” and praised the sports league for getting rid of it.

Pursuant to the Consumer Financial Protection Act, I have notified the Federal Reserve that CFPB will not be taking its next draw of unappropriated funding because it is not “reasonably necessary” to carry out its duties. The Bureau’s current balance of $711.6 million is in fact excessive in the current fiscal environment. This spigot, long contributing to CFPB’s unaccountability, is now being turned off.

And of course they should oppose tariffs on China too, but 56% have drank the protectionist Kool-Aid.

The Dems are winning the perception battle that tariffs will lead to higher prices and are just a tax on the consumer, a pretty good argument I make myself.

I have a very, very unscientific poll that was conducted throughout the week with checkers at the grocery store, parking attendants, people on the phone from medical offices to my local energy company….the result in my little neck of woods…..people want the Eagles to win by at least 9-1. I’ve read that it could be anything from the Taylor Swift involvement to stories of how the Chiefs get ‘breaks’ from the officials. Interesting thoughts, but I’ll go on the ‘Chief fatigue’ theory. Some people are tired of seeing them win, in commercials, and, of course, Taylor Swift herself that backed Harris and probably annoyed half the country.
But the ‘Chief fatigue’ is something I’ve seen before….in baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals of a few years ago. The Cardinals, it seemed, were always in post season to fact that people watching their games slowly dropped and dropped. People, on the most part, were tire of seeing the Cardinals in the post season.

Probably goes down in history, at least in NFL history, as the most disappointing Super Bowl of all time….especially that so much that was expected from this game and from another team.
