The biggest beef politicians, on both sides of the aisle, have with her is that she is independent of all political strings when it comes to giving a fair assessment or telling the truth. What Gabbard would be involved with is to direct and oversee national intelligence, with all 18 IC agencies reporting to her. This is a subject she is well equipped to handle, and demonstrated this ability when questioned in a classified setting according to senators like Tom Cotton.

Often, people running for President trade Cabinet roles for support in the election. Kennedy clearly falls in this category. As does the Labor Secretary nominee.

In the case of Snowden his illegality involved showing people what the NSA was illegally and unconstitutionally doing. In 2011 the Obama administration was admonished by the federal courts to stop such surveillance tactics. However in 2022-2023 more than 250,000 incidents happened without warrants to do so. I think Gabbard’s distrust of such intelligence overreach warrants more oversight and reform.
