    Ok, some humor for everyone..

“Congressional Democrats are calling out President Donald Trump’s inaction on food prices, even though he campaigned on lowering them. On Monday, 19 of them sent a letter to his desk demanding that he act on record prices impacting American consumers. “

because when that many people (federal, state, city, town workforces) have a vested interest in keeping and even enlarging the entity that pays them, there is definitely room for bad actors in positions with influence over policy.”

LOL… that is “Deep State”? Thanks for making it clear that is no Deep State.

Nobody disputes government has a “vested interest” in protecting and enlarging itself, that is true at all times and in all countries.

And nobody denies government agencies are rife with ideological leftists who use their positions to influence or implement policies in line with their ideology. 8 years of Clinton, 8 years of Obama, and 4 years of Biden have consequences.

But Deep implies secret, and State implies an organization. So Deep State implies a secret organized cabal operating within the government, a “super government” so to speak. Organizations require leadership, structure, communications, otherwise it is not an organization.

    Definition of “state”

nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government”

Some people use “Administrative State” rather than Deep State. If you say that the Federal government is a entrenched bureaucracy as a whole intent on protecting whatever privileges it has and continually growing if left unchecked, and that is an “Administrative State” it is closer to the mark than Deep State.

There are some old Federal employees if they remember the McCarthy Era.

And I hope they don’t run out of closets…..and mothers.

“By the end of the week, some employees said wearily that they did not know how long they could hang on. Many described conditions as reminiscent of the McCarthy era, and were despondent to see how quickly their office’s leaders acquiesced.

At the Department of Labor, staff members watched a colleague who had been recently hired to a civil service position be escorted out because she was a former political appointee. One employee said her manager required her to scrub the website not only of the words “diversity, equity and inclusion,” as the executive order required, but also of references to “underserved” and “marginalized communities.” Afterward, she said, she went into a closet, called her mother and wept.”

  6. What Dems are saying is the way THEY would lower prices, if they wanted to, and they don’t, but the way THEY would do it is by executive order–communist economics.

Trump wants to do it the right way, which will take time.

  7. Here is a summary of my political beliefs. Please misinterpret or lie about as you see fit.

    1. Federal taxes should be as low as possible to fund the military, security, and services to keep elderly and disabled people from starving to death.

    2. State and local taxes should be as low as possible to fund public schools and fill potholes.

    3. All levels of government are too big.

    4. I believe in a military strong enough to destroy America’s enemies. I want it strong enough to make America’s enemies think it’s not worth messing with America.

    5. America has strategic and economic interests around the globe so number 4 is vital.

    6. I support law enforcement over lawbreakers.

    7. I want conservative judges who apply the Constitution rather than rewriting it.

    8. The Republican candidate is always better than the Democrat candidate.

    9. I really don’t care what consenting adults do with their bodies. I think abortion is terrible but that ship sailed. I just don’t want to pay for it.

    10. A calculated indifference gets me through the day.

What used to be conservative ideals.

But things have “evolved” from that, what does Chicon call it, “pure conservative” crap from the obsolete Reagan era.

Now conservative is whatever Trumps does and conspiracy sites dictate.

Conservative is now an alternate world where a guy like Mitch McConnell with 50+ years of dedication to conservative causes and huge accomplishment delivering for conservatives in the US senate is a liberal commie RINO traitor, while RFK jr, a pro-partial birth abortion, flaming liberal who for decades has advocated for a more regulations, more nanny state big government actions, including pro-climate change alarmism, is a conservative.

It’s not me that says it.

    Let’s see.

I don’t think he will get 50 R votes, but he might get some Dems, at least Fetterman.

  27. In 1980 when Reagan came into office his approach to the Cold War was “I win, you lose.” During the start-up of Trump’s 2nd term he appears to be taking the same no-nonsense stance of “I win, you lose.” There are so many obvious comparisons to the two presidents. Unfortunately ego and myopic ignorance obscure these similarities for some here, as they remain stuck in their narrow definitions of conservatism.

  30. While I don”t think RFK’s confirmation is assured, he does have the support of a broad coalition of people who voted for Trump. They don’t confine themselves to rigid liberal/Conservative pearl-clutching ideas of what it means to be either/or. Instead, they are aware of how unhealthy our country has become; how big pharma influences news coverage by marketing their drugs thru media ads; and how there needs to be more transparency and objectivity in what we eat or inject into our bodies. Supporters of RFK also want border security here and less meddling into foreign disputes. I think he will make it through the gauntlet of Senate questions and be confirmed.

Dem senator presser now is about “chaos, cruelty, disarray, funding of billionaires” etc.

I realize they have less credibility than before, but Trump needs to make sure his side gets heard too so the left doesn’t control the narrative.

From excoriating Trump’s ability to win the presidency, calling Vance a “moron,” putting Ukraine’s national security before our own, brushing aside any concerns of audits, labeling others as pro-Putin or anti-Reagan just to be an a** – a pathetic history of being woefully off base.
