Yet, I feel like leaving this entirely alone would set a terrible precedent. The president should not have the power to insulate his cronies against charges being brought much less the entire judicial process. Its one thing to show clemency to some 84 year old woman who has already spent 30 years in prison on a first offense shoplifting. But to give clemency protection to people who have yet to be charged or found guilty is terrible and the SCOTUS should speak to the constitutional viability.

I doubt it is unconstitutional. Nixon wasn’t charged with anything, he got.a “pre-emptive” pardon.

I agree. If you are born in the U.S., you are a citizen. I do not see a way around that clear language. So, the individual starts as a citizen at birth. The next step would be to try to revoke citizenship but that is not easy.

How does this work for children of ambassadors from other countries, who are born here while their parents are on assignment and while those parents have immunity from our laws? The children don’t get immunity from our laws like their parents have? I was disappointed by Trump’s speech. Way too harsh and blunt. It was a campaign speech that some it was already spoken the day earlier at the Victory Rally. We get it, most America gets it. That’s why Trump won. He was adding insult to injury to the previous administration. The campaign is over. The election was over. It wasn’t, in my opinion, the place for it. Very little unifying words. It looked too much like a State of the Union speech.
I would give a 1.5 or 2 out of 10.

Some probably heard Trump’s speech in that way, while others have said they considered it one of the “best inaugural speech’s” ever given. I personally liked his tone, and it detailed the bulk of EOs he was ready to sign. Sure, there were fragments of campaign speeches filtered throughout this speech, along with a refined notification of how government was changing under his leadership. Trump’s rhetoric, however, has not been known for soaring, fluffy commentary. Rather, he has always portrayed himself as a pragmatist utilizing common sense over empty promises or congeniality.

The Capitol is not off-limits at all times. They do tours of the building. If you were way back in the crowd that walked to the Capitol that day, you most likely were not aware there had been fighting between protesters and cops. Then, you come upon an authority figure who is waving you thru the Capitol doors, and you proceed in and follow thru the building without committing any crimes, and then depart, I would not call that “trespassing”.
At other times, if you don’t follow the directives of law enforcement, that would get you locked up. But in this case, when they wave people in, that is “trespassing”.

First they said Boyland died of an overdose. Then they changed their story saying she was “trampled to death.” Bitter of course believed that version, as it fits his own take on it. Watched the Inauguration-my thoughts…
I was disappointed by Trump’s speech. Way too harsh and blunt. It was a campaign speech that some it was already spoken the day earlier at the Victory Rally. We get it, most America gets it. That’s why Trump won. He was adding insult to injury to the previous administration. The campaign is over. The election was over. It wasn’t, in my opinion, the place for it. Very little unifying words. It looked too much like a State of the Union speech.
I would give a 1.5 or 2 out of 10.
Also, Pastor Lorenzo Sewell stole the show. Now that was a unifying speech.
But again, my thoughts. That and $6.50 will get you triple Americano at your local Starbucks.
PS-the pardons of Fauci, Milley and the Biden family just minutes before the ‘swearing in’ was too much to bear. It cements Biden as one of the worst presidents in my lifetime.

Please notice – I don’t question jason’s citizenship at all, nor do I question his children’s citizenship, although I am assuming they were all born after he became an American citizen, and God Bless him and his family.
As for my citizenship, I “only” got that BECAUSE both sets of grandparents followed the laws to immigrate to America, and followed all the laws while they were here going through the process, and then both parents also “only” got citizenship because of their parents status as citizens.

Some probably heard Trump’s speech in that way, while others have said they considered it one of the “best inaugural speech’s” ever given. I personally liked his tone, and it detailed the bulk of EOs he was ready to sign. Sure, there were fragments of campaign speeches filtered throughout this speech, along with a refined notification of how government was changing under his leadership. Trump’s rhetoric, however, has not been known for soaring, fluffy commentary. Rather, he has always portrayed himself as a pragmatist utilizing common sense over empty promises or congeniality.

The fact the environment was changed where many were encouraged to enter the ”People’s House,” and then charged with trespassing would not be legitimized in any other criminal trial. -I have asked this before, don’t recall getting a satisfactory answer.
The Capitol is not off-limits at all times. They do tours of the building. If you were way back in the crowd that walked to the Capitol that day, you most likely were not aware there had been fighting between protesters and cops. Then, you come upon an authority figure who is waving you thru the Capitol doors, and you proceed in and follow thru the building without committing any crimes, and then depart, I would not call that “trespassing”.
At other times, if you don’t follow the directives of law enforcement, that would get you locked up. But in this case, when they wave people in, that is “trespassing”.

First they said Boyland died of an overdose. Then they changed their story saying she was “trampled to death.” Bitter of course believed that version, as it fits his own take on it. This version also is planted on the first pages of internet searches, like Google is known to do to suppress more truthful stories. Also, Code Pink protest moron frequently interrupt Congress (obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding is a felony under U.S. federal law). Were any of them charged and sent to the joint?

During the Kavanaugh hearings mobs rushed into the Capitol Building, interrupted the hearings, harassed congress people in the Capitol Building elevators, and nary a one was arrested.
Furthermore, one of the Capitol Police, who complained of being attacked and injured, was shown to be lying by video exonerating his attacker. Nonetheless, the supposed “attacker” was convicted and sentenced to a significant prison term.

-If I was passing by, and the security apparatus told me I could come in for a tour, I would probably take them up on their invitation. If I was then apprehended for “trespassing”, Bitterlaw would say I need to be responsible for my actions.
Of course, if I was told by the same security that I had to cross the street to pass by the gates, but didn’t listen to them, I might also be apprehended for “trespassing”.
Something tells me that there are pure power dynamics going on, not a matter of “personal responsibility”.

There is so much corruption and falsehoods surrounding the J6 protest, and the illegalities pursued by DC DA, the select committee, the dem leadership, some dirty Capitol Police, and DC judges. And yet, people like Bitter just fall in line with their condemnation of ,yes, “patriots,” unquestioningly believing the media and Biden’s tall tale of an unarmed insurrection.
