I was just checking to see if Bitter started a new thread. If not, I was going to do so and call it, the last day of Biden’s presidency. And then ask the question…
Was this the worst president ever?

The worse President in my lifetime was Barack Obama.
As a glorified community rabble rouser and ideological Marxist who had never even run a lemonade stand he was a complete media creation and his 8 years in office set the country back a generation. He pretty much instituted the notion that mediocrity was ok in all facets of government and it was he who filled the government with incompetent radicals from the FBI to the CIA to the NSA to the State Department, IRS, you name it.
Biden’s damage might have been worse had he succeeded in canning the filibuster, but luckily that held and we did not throw another 4 trillion on the inflation bonfire, change voting laws so Rs would never win, completely destroy the energy sector and a lot of the private sector with it, cement wokism into every corner of society, etc.

Bitter said he had ads 24/7 in his area. I would say it was 60-40 for McCormick here but he certainly had plenty of ads.
In Philly market it was about abortion. Here it was about McCormick’s house in NJ and “hedge fund”.
He wasn’t outspent. He had the wrong message and it was obvious he abandoned the “moderate” image that served him well in the past.

We did talk earlier about worst Presidents. I go Joe over Carter. Carter appointed Paul Volker to the Fed and at least attempted to get the hostages out. He did it poorly, but it did at least impact him.

Hwy 1 in Santa Monica is now open since the fire. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena now has thousands of individual tents erected for refugees of the fire to occupy. Food trucks are there handling free food. There has been so much spontaneous, voluntary outreach to others here – very gratifying to see. However, strong Santa Ana winds are predicted to return tomorrow night thru Tuesday night.

So what about the theory that as agendas go, Trump can get a lot more done now that he would have been able to do in 2020 had he won. He would not have had the Senate or the House, at most he would have implemented executive orders.

Not sure why “former” Intel officials have security clearances anyway. I have had to obtain security clearances over the years, but they were revoked once the work was done. Maybe as a courtesy they still get security briefings? I know former Presidents are entitled to them upon request (and at the discretion of the current President).
