3….2……1…..until the French media start calling Le Pen a “far-right racist” again.

  3. Chilling footage from the insurance exec killed earlier today on a NYC street. Makes me wince, to say the least.

There was a bystander standing right there, who ran away……..I wrestle with calling that person out or not. The way the video looks, the assailant could have been tackled by the bystander……but very easy to say that when watching on video, as opposed to being that bystander and making that split decision, a predicament I wish on no person.

I strongly oppose any blanket pardon to people who assaulted police officers and destroyed and stole public property.

I favor a case by case review of protesters who were overcharged and over-sentenced.

    Wait.

Giving criminals a free pass is not a free pass, what is a free pass is opposing free passes to criminals?

    I guess I got it.

Anybody who attacked law enforcement should not be pardoned. Same for thieves and vandals.

Bitter, I read that Manfred stated that MLB is considering the “Golden At Bat Rule”. Was wondering what you thought about this? Appears it’s just been talked about, not close to being in the implementation stage.
My opinion is that they need to leave the game alone for awhile.

-Have to agree with Bitterlaw, jason and “Scooter, The Prediction Thread Winner !!!” on this.

For the others, those just walking through, full pardon. Those in video on grounds but outside, full pardon and a written apology from the government.

    -What is this? Sounds ridiculous.

The pitch clock improved the game. Gerrit Cole probably doesn’t have his brain fart in the World Series if he wasn’t absolutely gassed because he had to keep up on the pitch clock.

“In truth, Mexico would face insolvency if it did not receive its current some $63 billion in U.S. remittances, largely sent by its own people who crossed into the U.S. illegally. Trump talks of levying a 25 percent tariff on Mexican imports should Mexico not cease undermining the American border. An additional lever would perhaps be to slap a 30 percent tax on all remittances sent from the U.S. to Mexico. That would both encourage capital to stay in the U.S. and raise over $20 billion in excise fees, more than enough proverbially to “pay for the wall.”

-We deal with people who buy actual goods in the U.S. and then ship them to countries in the Caribbean. That is behavior that I think should be rewarded.

If Mexicans living here want to do that, no problem. But if they want to send ca$h, I would not get in the way of our government slapping a larger tax on those remittances, IF their political leadership continues to act in unfriendly ways.

This current Mexican President has shown herself to be hostile to our laws. If the Mexican people want that type of leadership, then they won’t mind paying more for it.

  18. Also, one note: Chicon made a comment earlier, when someone mentioned Trump working with Democrats. Chicon said he could see Trump doing something in regard to immigration, because he had leverage. The leverage is the fact that if Democrats don’t want to deal, then Trump could just enforce existing laws on the books. Nobody disputed that.

Glad we are all of one mind on that, finally!

  19. speaking of remittances to Mexico, those who send it pay MASSIVE fees to companies like western Union and Elektra just to start

I had a few ideas on how to stop this gouging and have the us recoup some of the money, but each one made me feel violated because all sound like government interference into the free market. Not sure what the solution is

Mike, the “Golden At Bat Rule”, basically says that each team would get one instance per game, where they can send up to the plate any player of their choosing, to hit.

Example….. let’s say that the Yankees had the bases loaded and their worst hitter at the plate. They could apply the Golden At Bat Rule and send up Aaron Judge to hit, even though he’d already slotted in the lineup elsewhere. So as Bitter mentioned, you could possibly have a hitter who just struck out, stay at the plate for another at bat if you so choose. I think it’s a ridiculous rule. Like I said, they need to leave the game alone.

I wonder what would happen if this scenario played out.

Game seven of the World Series. Bases loaded with 2 outs and you are down by a run. Your Lead off hitter is the scheduled batter but he’s been slumping. Your #2 hitter has been your hottest hitter and you feel is your best chance of driving in the tying run. So you implement the “Golden At Bat Rule” and send up your #2 hitter, who then gets a base hit and ties the game. So now, your #2 hitter is the next scheduled hitter, but he can’t bat because he’s standing on first base after just getting a hit. So the question is, how would the #2 goiter take his next scheduled at bat?

That should read: So the question is, how would the #2 hitter take his next scheduled at bat?

You’d have to pinch run for him, but under normal circumstances that would mean he’s out of the game. So how does he go from first base back to the batters box? I’m sure they have that figured out, but I would be interested to know what the rule is.

Tina – I defend you all the time but on this you’re off base. No one went balkatic over J6 pardons. Everyone is onboard with a case by case review. If it’s simple trespass or overcharging then they get pardoned. If they best up cops or destroyed property or committed a serious crime they don’t get pardoned. It makes sense and is fair. EVERYONE AGREES WITH THAT so no one here, literally no one, got upset about some J6 pardons and EVERYONE HERE was pissed off and upset about Biden’s pardoning of his son. So we’re all republicans in congress

  27. LOL, Victor.

Tina is correct about some here. They are mute when it comes to condemning anti-Trump behavior, lawfare, defiant administrative action when Trump was president.

If people choke at Trump issuing a blanket pardon to J6ers then lets see them choke and scream over people like Liz Cheney, Fauci, McCabe, etc. getting pardoned when they twisted laws, congressional testimony, what have you, to defeat MAGA and Trump.

Their silence is all the evidence you need that they suffer from TDS, neo-Conism and are at heart globalists rather than pro-America, even if they claim to have voted for Trump three times.

The GOP is MAGA now, according to its self-definition (platform). The GOP overwhelmingly defeated the neo-Con standard bearer in the primary (Haley). And this country just gave Trump the first popular vote win since 2004 and the biggest GOP electoral victory since 1988.

It is not MAGA supporters who are cultists. It is the neoCon, globalist GOP voter who is clinging to their own gods.
