Whatever anyone thinks of Trump, I think it can be agreed upon that his 2024 campaign was run like a well oiled machine. I remember all the miscues in 2016 and 2020–the cringeworthy tweets, and so forth.
But I was just thinking about the way the 2024 campaign was conducted, and how it matched perfectly the outcome. Trump’s team was confident about PA, and MI, and narrowly so in WI, so the time was spent holding events in MSG, New Jersey, Colorado, and even California, in an effort to win the popular vote, which has taken away one of the narratives the leftist media expected to use against him. Even some of the election night rants involved those angry against the electoral college, as they presumed Harris would win the popular vote.
Despite their efforts to bankrupt him, jail him, use extreme rhetoric against him to incite a gullible kid to give his life in an effort to kill Trump, and then even at the end, getting the most celebrated pollster in modern politics to throw away her career in a last minute effort to stop him. Trump and his team fielded all of these attacks and cruised to victory.
Having said all this, I personally will be ready for a fresh face in 2028. Trump was clearly the best option in the general election. But I was ready for DeSantis, and still think he was the better choice given he could govern for 8 consecutive years.
I don’t personally know Rep. Nancy Mace or Rep. Sarah McBride, and I can’t say I’ve thoroughly researched their biographies or political views. But I’ve seen enough in recent days to say this: I am very grateful to be of the party of Sarah McBride, and not that of Nancy Mace.
Its weird because MD used to enjoy pretending he had become a Democrat, and go on like that for several posts…only to reveal what we all knew, that he was just joking.
I guess the lesson is its not healthy for one to joke like that.
The Department of Labor and Surgeon General selections were miserable.
Tulsi’s liberal views don’t worry me because of the job she’ll be doing. Similar for Junior – I’m okay with shaking up the departments he’ll be running.
There is no way that Tulsi or RFKJ will withdraw. Trump will go to the wall for both of them.
Tulsi is the DARLING of the libertarian right that supported Trump among the younger “Bro” vote. Likewise, RFKJ’s MAHA agenda helped sway GOP women who were focused on health but didnt like Trump’s history with the prolife movement.
They are essential, like Musk, to fighting RINOS and the establishment in D.C.
They may be voted down, but Trump will fight for them more than he will for Hespeth or Noam.
I saw Trump plans to kick Trans out of the military. Not sure it is worth focusing on an issue that affects people willing to serve. I think he should end the discrimination against diabetics.
Most men dont want to risk their lives in an uber-feminized or LGQTIAWZYZ culture. Lose the woke, bring back a strong military where the focus is on defending AMERICA and the AMERICAN dream.
I have commented on disliking bionduh, the surgeon general, and the incorrectly rumored pick (cn and n) of the insider trader. She claims to have had an epiphany on Covid. Some here wanted more metals for Fraudci and supported vax mandates to the detriment of the military. .
So someday there is a battle raging, and half an American platoon is pinned down under heavy fire, waiting for re-enforcements, a life-and-death situation, and suddenly, UN referees step in and say, “hold it…wait…everyone on both sides, stop! Half of the Americans here need their regular estrogen treatments because they want to pretend they are women. Once the estrogen is delivered, we will show the green flag and the fighting can continue.”
But, there was not an election interference aspect to these prosecutions….”
Hmmmm…
Did anyone here say there wasn’t?
These prosecutions were designed to convict Trump before the election on the theory it would impede him from running/winning. The “rape” case and the “fraud” cases were designed keep Trump from campaigning and curtailing his spending ability.
In the end, Garland took too long to appoint Smith and Smith took too long to bring charges. It allowed Trump to delay the federal cases.
Smith also seeks to dismiss the case without prejudice, meaning it could be brought again (although there would be a statute of limitations issue in four years).
Not sure if the Sratute of Limitations would run from the date of the alleged crime or the date of dismissal w/out prejudice. I’m not looking it up unless somebody wants to pay me $500 per hour.
Bitter sez…France and England can send as many troops as they want. The U.S. doesn’t have to follow their lead. Both can be true.
And Russia could (note this says “could”) choose to attack a British or French defense factory in response.
Would you say this invokes the NATO promise that an an attack on one is an attack on all? Or would you want Trump to say the NATO provision is not invoked because France/England hit first?
I truly believe that a negotiated settlement will be had within 90-180 days. Negotiating troops doesn’t mean they will ever be deployed. First of all it takes time. Regardless, These are both European countries, well within missile range of Russia, and have a vested interest not to have Russia controlling all of Ukraine.
They are welcome to send troops to help push back the unjustified invasion.
I agree, Jason. Therefore, I think France or England sending troops to fight in Ukraine increases the odds of US troops fighting Russia. You (and sometimes, Bitter) says you’re against US troops participating in Ukraine, so this development would be cause for concern, wouldn’t it?
How about the Angels, signing a pitcher who had a 4.03 ERA last year, and whose best season is around 3.80 ERA to a $21M a year contract for three years.
I should have listened to my dad and thrown left handed

Therefore, I think France or England sending troops to fight in Ukraine increases the odds of US troops fighting Russia. You (and sometimes, Bitter) says you’re against US troops participating in Ukraine, so this development would be cause for concern, wouldn’t it”
You are confused.
I am not in favor of US troops in Ukraine.
IF the sending of French or British troops in a defensive capacity triggers a Russian attack of France or the UK then of course I would favor the application of the NATO treaty in which the US would consider itself attacked too.
In other works, I do not oppose the Brits or French sending troops to Ukraine in a defensive capacity.
Contrary to you, I think Putin should worry much more about our military capacity than we should worry about his.
We’re all gonna look back on these last four years and wonder how in the hell the madness got so out of control, a big, fat transvestite was put in charge of Health and Human Services.
Jason sez….Contrary to you, I think Putin should worry much more about our military capacity than we should worry about his.
I believe it was just last week that we agreed that Russia is not a threat to successfully assume control over European territory. So, I’m not sure where the “contrary to you” comes from…..
VictrC-you mean Kikuchi? He originally signed with the Seattle Mariners a few years back and had an ERA over 5 in two of the three years he pitched in the pitcher’s friendly park.
The Angels are desperate….and have been a losing team in for years now. They couldn’t even play .500 ball with both Ohtani and Trout in the lineup.
“I saw Trump plans to kick Trans out of the military. Not sure it is worth focusing on an issue that affects people willing to serve. I think he should end the discrimination against diabetics.”
Bitterlaw, I’m trying to find the interview where Hegseth speaks about the reasons to re-implement that ban. As far as he said, it was based on the fact that those who were trans (or in the process) were consistently unable to be deployed due to their “medical conditions”, not because they were trans. I guess having to get hormones injected on a regular basis isn’t the best thing for military preparedness. As far as “willing to serve”, if an individual had all of their surgeries on their own dime, and that person was able to pass all the requirements, maybe exceptions could be made.
He did not mention diabetics during the interview.
I have heard from very reliable source that when a man in the NAVY decides he wants to become a woman, medical leave for up to three years is given, and the position is left VACANT and not filled by someone else.
