  4. Of course it probably makes no difference what the Ukrainian people want to our armchair warriors here. War fatigue, though, has been reported for some time by both civilians and those fighting on the front lines. But, those wanting the war to continue slam anyone, looking for an off-ramp to war, as a Putin stooge. So, I guess 52% of Ukrainians now join the coalition of Putin stooges.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/653495/half-ukrainians-quick-negotiated-end-war.aspx

“Ukrainians’ current attitudes toward the war represent a decisive shift from where they stood after it began in late February 2022. Surveyed in the months after Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Ukrainians were defiant, with 73% preferring fighting until victory.

In 2023, support for fighting until victory slipped, but more than twice as many Ukrainians favored a continued fight (63%) over a negotiated peace (27%). Fatigue has intensified this year, with support for negotiated peace rising to 52%, the first time it has reached a majority.”

    Jennings has good advice here.

@ScottJenningsKY on Trump’s other cabinet appointments: “I think the rest of them all could be confirmed. Gaetz, I think as I’ve said to you that day, he always struck me as being in a different category. I think everybody else is still within the realm of confirmable. So this job, my advice would be let’s find somebody who starts above water, not below water…[T]his may have been a decision that was made more on the fly then after a considered vetting process. And that’s another thing about nominating people to jobs. It does pay to do your homework on the folks you send up and look, everybody has things that come out about them. I mean, every nominee, you know, gets picked at and picked over. It doesn’t necessarily mean everything is fatal. But in this case, the information that had come out and that’s coming out today obviously was going to be a bridge too far for someone who already had pretty fraught relationships on the Hill.”

  13. Ukraine always seems to be the centerpiece of a U.S. crisis. From the corruption noted in the country, Biden’s Burisma involvement, impeaching Trump for a benign Zelenskyy conversation, start of a preventable war, our incredible proxy investment in a war in which no audits can be found, the discovery of CIA bases & bio labs in Ukraine, Zelenskyy staying in power past the expiration of his presidency, Dems supply land mines and give permission for the usage of long range missiles after losIng an election (a possible WWIII layup for Trump?), and Russia retaliating with an experimental missile, sounding more muscular in it’s rhetoric towards the U.S. and UK for providing missiles to Ukraine.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/obamas-ukraine-cover

”Obama and Biden couldn’t afford to have Trump poking around Ukraine as the new president. This helps to explain the sudden targeting of the Trump campaign in late spring 2016—just as Biden put the finishing touches on Shokin’s firing. This also explains the explosion of attacks on Trump once he became president.

As we moved further into Trump’s presidency, it also explains the ferocious response from the DNC when Trump started to ask questions regarding Biden’s actions in Ukraine. If Trump was allowed to continue, he would have discovered all of the Biden misdeeds, Obama’s knowledge of everything, and perhaps other misdeeds from the others among the larger DC Establishment as well.

Everything circles back to Ukraine. And Obama.

  48. KYIV, Nov 21 (Reuters) – Russia fired a hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile at the city of Dnipro on Thursday in response to the U.S. and UK allowing Kyiv to strike Russian territory with advanced Western weapons, in a further escalation of the 33-month-old war.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised address, said Moscow struck a Ukrainian military facility with a new ballistic missile known as “Oreshnik” (the hazel) and warned that more could follow.

This is a reminder that the greatest obstacle facing the incoming admin will not be the Democrats. GOP senators derailed Matt Gaetz’s confirmation. They do not care about “ethics.” These are some of the most unethical people on the planet. These senators put petty personal gripes over the agenda and should face electoral consequences from the voters they betrayed.

I’m not surprised that Gaetz had to withdrawal. In fact, I would not be surprised if that wasn’t the plan all along.
In fact, I posted on here after he was nominated, that he was probably a throw away pick by Trump to take the heat off the other nominees, so they would have a better chance of getting confirmed.

I doubt that Trump had a plan to nominate Gaetz so that other nominees would make it through. He nominated Gaetz because he was wanted to break things.

The R senators want to give Trump what he wants. But, Gaetz is not a serious person. They would not give Trump such an unserious pick for an important job.

The big question is whether Gaetz will be back in the next Congress.
