Went to a musical performance at Shepherd University. WAs a fund raiser to benefit the NC, etc. flood victims and communities in Appalachia that were hit by the hurricane and floods. It was a great show. Lots of variety in the music. the professors and music students at SU put it together and performed. They had a slice so=how in the background showing the flood area and mountains in good times, and immediately after the devastation and during recovery operations. Got some dust in my eyes…especially when they sang the Hazel Dickens song, “West Virginia, My Home”. I know the words to that song and it was one of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar.
Hazel Dickens only had a 6th grade education, but was not too many years ago (and before her death), SU awarded her an honorary degree. She wrote the song after she left WV and moved to a rented row house Baltimore.

Saw the fight (Tyson/Paul). Always thought that Mike Tyson would give Ali the greatest match. But those are thoughts are of yesterday and of another time.

Some of the undercard was really good. The Berrios Ramos fight was truly a great fight, and the woman’s fight was also good.
Tyson looked good in round 1 and 2…then the only undefeated in the world, Father Time, caught up quickly and Tyson could barely stand, much less punch, the last five rounds. That Paul couldn’t even hurt him says a lot about how Paul really is as a fighter. Put him in the ring with Prime Time Mike, or any of the other great heavyweights, and its a first round KO. Did you see how low his hands were after getting knocked around by Tyson round one.
Very anti-climactic, but have to give Tyson all the “cred” in the world. He was Sigma for just getting into the ring, and still has rizz that others will never have.

My point was that is SHOULD be part of any carrot/stick approach to end the war.

Bitter, to you negotiating the end of the war is “surrendering.” However, after over two excruciating years of war, where even Germany is trying to renew relations with Russia, I think it’s long overdo a resolution is reached with Russia, after which Ukrainian families can rebuild their lives. As it is, winter is coming, and more front line troops are dying than can be replaced. Also, there are talks about restarting elections in Ukraine, possibly giving the country a new president.

No chance the settlement of the Ukraine war involves a return to pre-invasion borders. The fault for this resides with Hero of Ukraine and Patron Saint of The Ostriches, Joe Biden. It was Joe who did nothing as Vlad put troops on the border, and then put crippling restrictions on the use of weapons. All well convincing the world that they were “concerned” about Ukraine.

The Barrios – Ramos fight was a really good one. Both beat on each other, and the fact that it ended in a draw was honestly the correct outcome. Barrios dominated early, Ramos later.
The Tyson fight showed, again, that father time is undefeated. You could absolutely see flashes of old Tyson, and if this had been a three round fight Tyson would have won. But he was done by the middle of round 3. He tried to do some things he used to do, but his reaction time was so much slower than it was before. He used to have hands of lightning, no one saw what was coming. But he just couldn’t pull the trigger. His legs were like spaghetti by round four. The fact that he lasted ten rounds of the best Paul could give should tell Paul to never fight again. A 27 year old Tyson would have crushed Paul in the middle of round one, hell, he stunned him and almost put him on his back.
The stream was AWFUL!!! Who the hell thought that Rosie Perez would be acceptable as a lead commentator on the biggest fight in a long time. WTF

I would save Cruz for a SC pick. CAn you imagine the heads that would spin if he replaced Sotohatewhitey!! I would trade out Cruz for Alito if he chooses to retire. I am going to leave yall with the following as I drive 105 miles north to watch the younglest play on day 2 of his Cup tournament. Who the heck schedules U10 soccer Cup games Friday night NORTH of Austin at 6pm!!!!!! Left here at 2:45 pm and barely made kickoff!! It has turned into little Los Angeles, and any charm Austin used to have as quirky has given way to being a little Liberal Los Angeles, where Californians come in land rich, destroy old neighborhoods and build their CA style houses, with their CA style politics…then complain about Texans.
Therefore my posting will be sparse today, but, I want to leave with the following:

Pre-invasion borders as a baseline for settling the Ukraine/Russia war is delusional. Some say there could be a million deaths attributed to this war on both sides. But, because accurate statistics are not revealed, we will probably never know. However, with so much sacrificed, and with the smaller country on the ropes without Western or European aid, you’ve got someone jutting their chin out and belligerently demanding the impossible. Now, if Jason, like was asked of Liz Chaney, were to volunteer his services, and go over to fight on the front lines for Ukraine, I would at least respect his zeal as an active fighter rather than an armchair warrior type.

I can not believe we are still arguing, and insulting each other over the Ukraine situation. No one here has experience there, and no one here (very obviously) has any idea of what its was like, or what it is like in the Ukraine, or Ukrainian politics. There is such a thing as nuance, and believe it or not, this how international politics/relations really works. You never get all of what you want…which is the definition of compromise, neither sides is satisfied. Yes, I said all this, and know I will be derided for it, but so be it.
Can we please stop arguing about this and insulting each other. Jesus. I get having differences of opinions, but calling each other stupid, moron, etc when we have known each other for 20+ years is sad.

A. shows Trump is Trump and digs in his heals, forces the Senate to deny recess appointments, Gaetz does NOT get confirmed and then Trump goes to war with all the Republicans in the Senate and splits Republicans nationwide and creates a bad situation and mayhem thus poisoning the well–even before he is sworn in as president and at the same time gives the left and MSM huge ammo to begin beating him over the head with for the next 4 years.
B. pulls the nomination and nominates someone with more competence and less baggage.
B would be my preference of course.

Please don’t ever criticize someone who served his country knowing they could be sent into harm’s way. Jason, did volunteer his services, and would have served on the front lines if called.

Jan. Ive been here for 20+ years, so I know how it is. I just made this point because he is a veteran, and did volunteer to put his life on the line. A comparison to Liz fake conservative Cheney is unfair. As a vet I know what its like, and as someone who has put his money where his mouth is in Ukraine, I thought the clarification needed to be made.
I value your, Tina’s and EVERYONES contribution to this page. I have no desire to look into a mirror. I welcome everyone’s views.

While so many are voicing concerns over the Gaetz AG nomination there are those who are rejoicing. Below is a Breitbart editorial reprinted in Dr Robert Malone’s substack:

The raid at Mar-A-Lago was a stain on the United States of America. A full investigation of that event needs to happen immediately.

Vic, I have many times raised the issue of the constant misrepresentation of the position of others.
The proprietor of the place says HHR is not for everyone and there’s no free lunch. The conclusion is that he and his fellow A-hole desire this place to be exactly the way it is.
It is his place and his rules, so it seems appropriate to join in. I’m not a fan of unilateral disarmament, so the beatings will continue.
I don’t believe the tenor of my discussions with anyone else (now that Wes is dead and Robbie is gone) are disrespectful.
