When we are all finished calling each other names and how stupid each other is…can someone (i.e. DW, Jason or bitter) let me know if you have any concerns about Casey really stealing this race ten days afterwards?

Walt…Born in NY. lived back and forth between SF and NYC area as a kid because my Mom was a hippy…who missed the 60’s by a decade plus, and was finding herself every six months!!! 24 schools by grade 10.

Overcame, served in the Army, went to Columbia, travelled a lot, created a few companies and currently live in TX with my two amazing boys (10 and 9)

  7. Big Pharma is literally responsible for THOUSANDS of life saving drugs that save hundreds of millions of lives and/or allows millions of people to escape unbearable suffering and/or extends their lives.

And of course NYC, who hates the profits that allow these companies the R&D funds to develop these drugs, probably rushes to buy them whenever he is sick.

NYC richly deserves the title of Master Hypocrite of HHR.

NYC is against profits because he wants to support a far leftist kook for HHS.

    Let’s cut to the chase.

  10. Vic – Not concerned. McCormick will fight and his lawyers know what to do. Also, if the Dems really wanted to steal it, they would have by now. Like I said, this would be the 53rd seat, not the 50th. No reason to steal when everybody is watching you.

Yes, Vic. the same person/people are reverting back to their old ways of baiting, mischaracterizing what the baitee said, and attacking them…

    sigh…

    *************

For those that have reverted to their OLD ways, please TRY for ONE day to not bait, mischaracterize and attack other posters.. And please don’t give me the old trite :no free passes here, blah, blah. blah, GFY” bull crap. When you revert to THAT, then you re admitting you are wrong in what you are doing.

And it reflect badly on your mother.

Just TRY it for ONE day, and give your arms a rest and don’t throw hand grenades at one another.

Have mature discussions of real matters of importance. You really DO have good incite on lots of things.

There ARE a lot of things that CAN be discussed here at this time of transition without all the slings, arrows and insults.

Funny that these 2 say I am against profits, because I think a company should have liability if their products ends up being dangerous, and the company knew about it, but instead of doing something about to make it safe, or less dangerous, they instead bought off politicians and isolated themselves from the liability.

-Yes, we are going on over 60 years of running a family business and I am against profits, according to these 2.

This must be some business, where we have no regard for profits but are able to keep operating for 60+ years!

To quote Kamala Harris, “nothing comes to mind”.

  28. The only thing I can say in support of Kari Lake is that Sheehy ran 12.8% behind Trump in MT. It is only because Trump curb-stomped Harris there that Sheehy won.

Justice ran 11.4% behind in WV (won)
Lake ran 8.0% behind in AZ (lost)
Moreno ran 7.5% behind in Ohio (won)
Brown ran 4.8% behind in NV (lost)
Rogers ran 1.8% behind in MI (lost)
Hovde ran 1.8% behind in WI (lost)
McCormick ran 1.4% behind in PA (won)

  32. How would a person bring up private enterprise without mentioning profits?

If there are no profits, the company will not be around for long.

My statement dealt with the relationship between a private company and a government entity.

Looks like you two are more of the Putin/oligarch types, more than the free enterprise system where government sets the rules and all companies have to abide by them equally. We do not have that equal treatment in many instances with Big Pharma.

-That’s the whole point with Big Pharma, Bitterlaw.

They go hand in hand, and the fact that it has to be explained to you shows even more clearly that you have not listened to RFK’s issues, or read about the issues many conservatives have brought up against the same companies.

Fauci and his HHS “doctors” made fortunes by pushing through their “scientific” studies over the last 50 years, and all the while the American people have gotten less healthy.

“Kennedy chronicles a federal public health establishment that wields nearly monopolistic control over America’s medical research, funding, and messaging. That establishment ensures that university researchers are almost entirely dependent upon federal grants, regularly stifles free inquiry and open debate, effectively “cancels” those who deviate from the establishment orthodoxy, seems uninterested in any sort of care or prevention not involving a pharmaceutical patent, ensures that government public health employees are enriched by pharmaceutical royalties, and—all in all—represents one of the worst examples of the pitfalls of centralized power and control anywhere on our shores.”

  37. “Both during AIDS and during Covid-19, Fauci and company fought the use of inexpensive, repurposed drugs to help people’s immune systems fight off the threats. Kennedy argues that they were motivated by a desire to bring pharmaceutical products to market—both antivirals and vaccines—without facing cheap competition, as a portion of Big Pharma’s profits would make their way into the public health officials’ pockets. Indeed, NBC News reports that NIH researchers have personally collected up to $150,000 a year in royalty payments for drugs they have helped develop at taxpayer expense. NBC says that in 2004 NIH researchers pocketed a total of $8.9 million. That’s in addition to their taxpayer-funded salaries. More recently, royalties from Covid vaccines appear to have been quite a boon to NIH, as in 2022 the agency’s overall royalties (not just the portion paid out to employees) skyrocketed to nine times what they were in the pre-Covid year of 2019. “
