I would add establishment politicians like Lisa Murkowski. Trump is basically choosing his own team to better implement the agenda he wants to put into place. He and his Chief of Staff feel they have a minimum of 2 years to get things done. In his first term he relied on others for suggestions to fill his administration. Now, he knows better…..

I think Gaetz nomination is an unforced error. There were other names more competent and less controversial who could have achieved anything Trump hopes to achieve with Gaetz. Probably more, because the DOJ is not a one man show.
His confirmation battle will be a big distraction that Trump doesn’t need. If he does get confirmed, his tenure will be a distraction Trump doesn’t need.
But we know Trump will be Trump.
This is a divisive pick, it will pit Rs against each other just like it is pitting HHR posters against each other.
Trump doesn’t see the value in a united party. He burned a lot of bridges in 2016 and it cost him later.

I don’t see HHR posters necessarily pitted against each other because of the AG nomination. People just have differences of opinion which is healthy to express. As for Gaetz, he will have an opportunity to excel or flop under questioning that is assured to be intense.

I’m no Gaetz fan, but I can see the utility of having him atop DoJ were he actually confirmed; he’s a bulldog who hates the establishment, and even if he is shady, FDR put Joe Kennedy charge of the SEC with the idea that it was better to have a known crook monitoring the rest to keep them in line.
I won’t push for Gaetz to be confirmed, but if he is, I expect him to clean house and torment every last bureaucrat who sh*t all over the rule of law just to get Trump.

I thought that Trump would have chosen Mike Lee (Utah) for AG….but, then again, I thought Trump would have had Nikki Haley out there campaigning for him the last two weeks or at least the final week but no-it didn’t happened.

Looks like we will end up with 221 in the House.
Begich is barely losing margin with every drop and he will win the RCV bigly. Duarte also is very likely to win with what is left. This gets to 221.
Steel is only up 300 votes and there no evidence the later drops will be better than the recent ones that have reduced her lead to almost zero.

If they are spread out over the whole state Casey is winning 58% of them and McCormick is winning 32% them.
In this scenario if there are 80k left Casey would still be short about 19,000 votes.

Middle Ground means get rid of largess. Get rid of embedded Bureaucrats who are not there to fulfill the original mission, but to ensure they last until their pensions are secured.
It does mean identify what I believe will be a small group, who weaponized the DOJ and FBI for their personal beliefs. I do not believe a vast majority of either agency falls into that category. I do believe that both are grossly overstaffed. The FBI for instance. I bet with 70% of the current staff, filled with dedicated professionals who take their job and oath seriously, could do the job as well, if not better, than the currently staffed number.

Nobody has been more critical of the educational system turning out hundreds of thousands of Marxist a year into all facets of society, including government, the corporate world and even the military.
The leadership (and even rank and file) of these government agencies reflect that ideology and the ideology of those who appoint them.
But that is not Deep State, there is no secret cabal or government within the government or any of that absolute trash Chicon, Janzam, Tina, NYC, etc. believe in. If there was, it is the worst kept secret in the history of “secret” societies. Unmitigated drivel.
These agencies should be depoliticized as much as possible. There was a time the FBI and the CIA and DNI etc. were not “left” or “right”.
But defunding law enforcement, cutbacks, and all the rest of this deadender trash is just advocating for the exact same thing the left is guilty of.
The deadenders want to defund law enforcement as vengeance for the lawfare Trump has suffered.
As I stated above, the stupidity of that cannot be overstated.

(5%) A. VALIDATION OF TRUMP, support of Trump as a person; repudiating of the political motivated lawfare tactics used to try to take down Trump; validates that the 2020 election WAS stolen from Trump (TRUMP’S VIEW)
(30%) B. REPUDIATION OF DEMOCRATS failed policies, actions, agenda and performance of last 4 years: Not a big fan of erratic Trump, but the other side is crazy–and at least Trump supports more sensible policies than Kamala does.
(30%) C. BAD ECONOMY. Voters chose Trump primarily because of the bad economy and people were worse off after 4 years of Biden and the Ds (jobs, inflation, emotion of savings due to inflation, energy prices, taxes, etc.)
(30%) D. ILLEGAL ALIENS/OPEN BORDERS. and all that ushered in–ignoring constitution and laws, crime, failure of illegals to assimilate into American culture, lots of fed, states and local $$$ being spent to house, feed, transport, clothe, provide healthcare, education etc. for the 9 to 11 million illegals at the expense of providing what was needed to real Americans and creating BIG problems in providing health care, education, and negative impact on U.S. communities
(5%) E. TRUMP WAS THE LESSER OF TWO BAD CANDIDATES and the voters were personally turned off by both candidates. But at least Trump did have a good deal of success in his term as president–until CROVID hit.
