He has to be kept as far away from anything to do with the administration, or governance of anything, as possible.

Vance’s foreign policy views may be something you disagree with. But others are in sync with him. After all, you also were adamant Trump would lose too.
As for the FL senate seat, I would select Byron Donalds. However, Gaetz would be an opposing firebrand in the senate – a disruption that might be a valuable asset promoting better policy-making in that chamber.

I prefer Thune, if Cornyn is not in the cards, I think he is more in tune (pun intended) with the workings of the senate and can be more productive than Scott.
The Senate is not for the place for grandstanding and “firebrands”, it takes a lot of back room wheeling and dealing to move legislation through. It’s a fact of life and Trump winning is not going to change how the Senate operates.
That is what made McConnell so successful as Senate leader.
