  1. Yes folks, according to that amazingly accurate (/sarc off) pollster, Quinnipiac, Trump is now losing NC by 3% to Harris and, get this, they are losing the NC gov race by 12%.

File this one under the, you can’t make this sh*t up. They are trying desperately to set this agenda that Harris is going to carry NC, GA, potentially FL and is pulling even in TX. I kid you not.

  2. It gets better. In the poll Trump gets 95% of the Republicans, and leads Independents by 5%, 49%-44%. He also leads in the Very enthusiastic voter category, 83%-77%.

Which candidate cares about the needs and problems of people like
    you, or not? Trump 48%-47%

Which candidate has good leadership skills: Trump 50%, Komrade Kamala 48%

Would you say that – Kamala Harris is honest, or not? No – 50%

So with all that, they still say Harris is leading by 3% when Trump is leading with Indies, has 95% support amongst GOP (BTW Kamala had 99%…never seen that before, even with Obama)

    Here’s the kicker

    VOTING METHOD Q3….
    In Person Mail in
    Harris 38% 68%
    Trump 58% 32%

  5. Actually Jan, I don’t think so. The polls have generally settled on a tight race that leans Trump. Other than the occasional university poll like Quinn, they are showing Trump up in PA, NC, GA, AZ and tight in MI and WI. With the first four he wins the election.

Like it or not, tomorrow nights debate is paramount. Thank God they don’t have live mics. Let’s hope he can be as disciplined as he was last time and has been lately.

  6. Vic, to me it seems the polls one day lean one way and then another way the next day. I heard today internal polling from both factions showing Trump as having the edge. Also, just today a higher court in MI overturned a lower court’s ruling by saying RFK could not take himself off the ballot. This created a blistering dissent from those agreeing with RFK’s request, so maybe it can be appealed again.

  7. Yet another poll shows Trump behind because he’s supposedly crashing with white voters. The Quinnipiac NC poll has Trump up only 56-41 with white voters. He’s more likely to ultimately be at least +25 to +30 with that cohort of the electorate. Exit polls in 2020 had him winning NC’s white vote 2 to 1 (66-33).

  10. Yes, tomorrow’s debate will be an important one, especially if a clear winner comes out of it. I’m uneasy, though, because of the praise being heaped on Trump for his debating skills, while Harris is being scripted as a nervous novice at such events. I personally don’t like setting expectations too high for one and lower for the other, as unexpected slips of the tongue can change everything around. One thing for sure is the ratings will be high as so many are awaiting the debate with baited breath!

  12. They are more likely to succeed in getting RFK off the ballot in NC. There’s a 5-2 Republican majority on the court. That shouldn’t be what matters, but it does.

The Michigan ruling was the state Supreme Court (Democrats control that court, 4-3). That case is a done deal unless there’s a means of federal court intervention I am not aware of.

  18. Yet another article describing today’s harsh realities in Ukraine’s military struggles – one from CNN, this one Breitbart – nothing from gateway. Bitter can once again deal with pretzel-like rationalizations why Ukraine should keep sacrificing itself, despite the almost insurmountable odds of winning a complete Russian capitulation of giving back captured territory.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2024/09/09/reports-ukraine-struggling-to-enlist-young-men-to-replace-battlefield-losses/

“Channel News Asia (CNA) noted on Monday that between battlefield losses and people fleeing the country – including men fleeing the country to avoid conscription – Ukraine has lost 10 million people out of a prewar population of 45 million.

Worse still, Ukraine’s population of men under 30 has dwindled from 6 million in 2022 to less than 5 million today, reducing both the pool of potential conscripts and the manpower that would be available for postwar reconstruction. Ukraine’s economic output has dropped by about 25 percent since the war began, with a manpower shortage as one of several factors dragging it down.”

Trump acolytes and favorable independent news media all think Trump is a seasoned, savvy debater, far outstripping Harris. I don’t see it that way. His words have the tendency to be indelicate and misinterpreted. This might be especially the case as there is no in-house audience to support him. It leaves the after report mostly up to the dem-captured media to cast out for public consumption.

Trump is not a good debater. He goes off on tangents and irrelevancies. He has a lot of trouble focusing on the question. The Biden debate was the first he “won”, largely benefited from the muted mikes so he had to let Biden talk and do himself in.

Hopefully tomorrow he will concentrate on the advantages he has over Kamala, economy, immigration, cost of living and be prepared to answer hostile questions on abortion, J6, democracy, and “convicted felon”.

Yes, we know millions were displaced by having their homes destroyed, their cities razed or invaded, their infrastructure destroyed.

We know EXACTLY where they went and where they are

“By the end of 2023, the war in Ukraine had displaced an estimated 3.7 million people within the country and forced 6.3 million refugees and asylum-seekers to seek protection abroad, nearly 6 million of them in Europe”

As a result of heavy shelling and fighting, an estimated 3.7 million people have been driven from their homes and are internally displaced and nearly 6.5 million people have crossed into neighboring countries in the region including Poland, Hungary, Moldova or other countries globally. Poland has welcomed the greatest number of Ukrainian refugees, hosting nearly 60 percent of all refugees from Ukraine.

Missile and rocket attacks have caused widespread death, destruction of homes and businesses and severely damaged energy infrastructures across Ukraine. The energy crisis is disrupting public access to water, electricity, heating, healthcare, education and social protection. Many Ukrainians are living in damaged homes or in buildings ill-prepared for life-threatening freezing temperatures. As the war continues, humanitarian needs are multiplying and spreading. An estimated 14.6 million people in Ukraine will need humanitarian assistance in 2024.”

I’m looking at the fact we can’t live the next four years like we did the last four years. This is no contest. Harris raised taxes, Trump reduced taxes. Harris wants to stop any energy production. Trump built it up. Harris is weak on national security. Trump was strong on national security. Harris has allowed the border to be infiltrated by 8 million people. Trump was much harder on the border.”

Haley continued, arguing, “This is about my family. This is about America.”

“If you don’t like him, say you don’t like him, but you can’t say that his policies are worse than Kamala Harris’. That’s just not a fact,” Haley concluded.
