  2. Hochul must have really pissed the Knicks owner off…not only the Knicks but he owns Madison Square Garden and the Rangers.

“ALBANY, New York — Sports and entertainment mogul James Dolan has emerged as the largest GOP donor in the Empire State this election cycle after backing Gov. Kathy Hochul’s last campaign.

Dolan, his company and family members donated $1.4 million this year to committees supporting Hochul’s GOP foe, Bruce Blakeman, and have put millions more into super PACs that have started to support the Republican. The money represents crucial support after one of the party’s biggest rainmakers stopped giving.

The money stands to have an impact far beyond the gubernatorial campaign: Republicans desperately need Blakeman, the Nassau County executive, to run a competitive race against Hochul in order to win several New York swing House seats that will potentially determine control of Congress and the final years of Donald Trump’s presidency.

The giving also arrives during an advantageous moment for Dolan, the owner of the New York Knicks, Rangers and the arena where they play — iconic Madison Square Garden. Trump, a Blakeman ally, is backing an $8 billion overhaul of New York City’s Penn Station that will leave the Garden in place — potentially sparing Dolan a major headache.

The president and Blakeman were guests in Dolan’s suite during game three of the NBA Finals. Dolan plans to bring his basketball team to the White House, the first time an NBA champion has done so during either Trump presidency.”

  5. Now that the DSA has openly admitted they plan communism for us (elimination of the SCOTUS, POTUS, Senate, etc.), its not too early to warn everyone that their communism will be retroactive.

Any and all savings and investments you have piled up for retirement will be seized and used for the good of the “people” i.e. the government, while you get to work like a dog just barely getting enough to feed yourself until you drop dead in your old age.

One of the things that kept people going in the Soviet Union was strong family ties, where extended family members worked together to keep everyone fed, and everyone as healthy as possible.

But with leftist individualism/isolation being the norm, where everyone is conditioned to reject family, and live alone with government as your god, father, and spouse, the results will be devastating. With no family to help individuals to cope with life under the oppressive communist government, suicide will be so rampant that there may not even be enough people to work the shovels.

While Sherman waited for Moore outside the office, she was approached by someone who chased her before stabbing her more than 10 times”

    Why?

    a) the article sites polling data showing Jews supporting El-Sayed.

    b) the article refers to a focus groups of 20 Jews who expressed reservations about jumping to Rogers.

    c) unnamed local “leaders” say the Rogers’ scheme to win Jews may not work.

–Putting a maximum salary cap on professional sports athletes of no more than $20MM / YEAR

–putting a 20% tax on all tattoos

–allowing the federal government to monitor all social media posts to troll for illegal activity (scams, crimes, etc) and arrest those committing crimes.

–further allowing federal government to regulate all social media to require each post to carry a HEADLINE saying this post is “NOT FACTUAL” or , “FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY”, or “OPINION ONLY” or “TOTALLY MADE UP SH!T” if the post is something other than a some factual statement, or reposting of a weather or news report. 47. In 1960 in 9th grade citizenship/civics class, I did an assignment. I researched and wrote a short paper about the atonal debt.

I warned that if we did not change something, we would soon be seeing 10% of the annual federal budget going to just pay interest on the debt. I posited that this could be the downfall of the U.S.

    *****

    Flash forward to today.

ANNUAL interest payment on the atonal debt is the 2nd largest spending item in the federal budget

Only cost of Social Security in higher the ND interest costs.

Nat. Debt interest payment is HIGHER that spending for the military.

    HIGHER than Medicare.

Dollar amount today on ND interest is over $1.1 TRILLION.

    That is @ $3 BILLION a DAY.

So 2 days of Interest on ND is MORE that the entire annual general revenue budget for WV of $5.5 BB.

The total national debt is now over $40 TRILLION.

    ●●●●●●●

ALL STATES require an annual BALANCED BUDGET…. except one….

    ….VERMONT

    ●●●●●

When states want to spend more than they take in they often issue road bonds or other bonds. They gain revenue to build stuff now to pay back later in bond and interest payments. Federal government does the same.

    ********

it seems that a huge and growing national debt does not really have big negative impact on the citizens of the U. S.

I DO have a theory that it subconsciously causes people to internalize the national debt issue with govt taking in less that they spend and Americans take in way more calories that they burn off every year and keep getting more and more pudgy. They subconsciously feel if the U. S. can operate with the income / outflow imbalance, then it is ok for them to operate on a similar imbalance of calorie intake /outflow.

    Anyway…

    ■■■■

I have changed my mind since I was in 9th grade. I do not see the National debt issue and big interest payments as being alarming.

First, as a % of GNP, the interest on debt is only about 3%.

Secondly, the U. S. government does have assets. The Federal government ow Ed about 30% of all the land in the U.S. Plus the feds own a lot of buildings worth a lot of combimed value. All of this should be worth trillions.

Plus it has over a TRILLION alone in military hardware (ships, planes, tanks, etc.)

PLUS the government owns all the gold at Fort Knox. And Trillions in mineral rights of things beneath the and it owns.

Plus a lot of things of value like the original U.S. Dec of Ind and Comstitution and lots of things in government museums that would fetch a big price on Antique Roadshow is we ever did have to sell of some things or have a yard sale.

Back in 9th grade, my research said that the harm of a big natonal debt and having to Pay lots of Interest on the ND, the bad impact would be it would drive up Interest rates and hurt everyone borrowing to buy a car, house, go to college, start a business, etc.

    THAT SIMPLY IS NOT HAPPENING.

Now if the feds decided to just print $40 trillion and pay off the national debt in one fell swoop with huper inflated dollars of little value, THAT might cause massive inflation.

    *****

So what IS the bad part of a large and growing national debt?

Maybe causing us to spend a lot of Trillions a year that we COULD be spending to provide other things like roads and highways, replace sketchy bridges, etc.

    That is all I got.
