Hong Defeats Truman!

Except that Crowley defeated Hong. The polls had it sewn up, Polymarket gamblers agreed. The only thing left was the voting and the Dem establishment pulled victory from the jaws of defeat. The new Governor of Wisconsin will be David Crowley, a man who said on July 8 while dropping out of the race, “It has become clear that I will not be the Democratic nominee for Governor.” But he remained on the ballot and won after the Dem establishment forced him back into the race.

But worse than this, the loss of Hong robs the GOP of countless ads that could have been nationalized. Now Dems will press the gas pedal to normalize El-Sayed and claim they solved their “communism” problem.

    Not just simians, DW; forest animals are frequently observed being hyperactive or just plain nuts leading up to an earthquake or volcanic eruption (the latter being frequently tied to the former). For my part, although I don’t remember it well (my late father relayed the events as I got older), we were in Northern California around Shasta when St. Helens blew up, and even that far south, there was chaos in the forest; deer were running wild out into the highways and getting pummeled by trucks at an unusual clip, for example. Heck, many years later, I was driving my parents up to Fresno, and although we didn’t know it at the time, a 4.5 quake hit around Gorman on I-5 just before you drop down to grapevine south of Bakersfield; a large mule deer ran out into the road and tore up my parents’ Suburban. Did $4k worth of damage, too.

    Clown Sabato had moved WI Governor to Lean D from Tossup. Way too premature. There were only two polls of Crowley vs Tiffany and both were margin of error leads for Crowley, +1 from TIPP and +3 from RMG Research.

    Sorry, that’s a tossup until there is evidence to the contrary.

    All Crowley had to do is say the obligatory thing about wanting to listen to Hong’s supporters, and he welcomes their support and wants to hear from them about their wishes, and so on, but then keep his distance and run against Tiffany.

    But by linking arms with Hong, and having her ride shotgun is going to make Hong to Crowley what Piker is to El-Sayed.

    –R gov candidate Tim Tiffany will now have a tougher GE.

    But take heart. The Comminist Hongers have quickly moved on after their defeat by latching onto winner Cowley and offering support. IF Crowley wins, he will no doubt give the communists some positions and influence in his administration…so Tiffany need to craft his campaign to run against CROWLEY/HONG.

    Most people are repulsed by the sound and image of a Crowley/Hong.

    I think they cost Ding Dong Hong the win as the women voters split up their votes….

    Heck, Hong only lost by a few thousand votes.

    Plus ballot name placement. Crowley should thank his lucky stars he drew the top name slot in a crowded ballot field. Like I said last night, this is worth a % point or two in your favor.

    I am very pro-prosecutor. I am not sympathetic to killers. However, I am torn on this case. She killed her children then tried to kill herself. Not exactly sane behavior. I don’t know if I would convict her on murder even though I frown on the insanity defense. Regardless of the verdict, she will be trapped in a hell caused by her actions.

    Trying to kill herself afterwards does not give her a free pass in my view.

    I hope she rots in jail for the rest of her life AND goes to hell afterwards.

    The insanity defense in this case is complete BS. You don’t become insane overnight.

    This woman held a steady job making $110k a year working in a hospital. She had daily interactions with hospital staff and patients. With other mothers, schools, social events, etc. Her husband makes $400k a year. Yes, you can be depressed and/or suicidal at any social or income level, but depression is not insanity.

    You don’t have to be crazy to strangle your children. Just evil.

    I only mention the house because of the prevailing meme that well, if you are poor and unemployed, you have more “right “to be a criminal.

    Read any defense for death row inmates trying to avoid execution. They were all products of broken homes, poverty, abuse, drugs, etc.

    This woman was not poor or abused, attended good schools, lived in a 700k house, had a combined family income of $500k. The bleeding hearts will have to find another reason for her evilness.

    But I recognize Bitter’s view is the “modern” view. He is not wrong, he is current. Criminals are no longer responsible for their own actions. Whatever they do, it can be attributed or blamed on something or someone else. Their upbringing, poverty, abuse, alcohol, meds, drugs. They had bad schoolmates, neighbors, bosses, relatives, teachers, coaches. They were discriminated against. They were bullied. They were depressed. They were in therapy.

    The fact that most people with all those problems do not become murderers is no longer relevant.

    Just pick one get out of jail card and run with it. With the right lawyer, the right judge and the right jury you are in the clear.

    I was reading yesterday about this case where a 17 year old girl smashed her mother’s car into a tree going 65 in a 40 mile zone and it erupted in flames. There were 6 teenage girls in the car going to a party. The driver and one passenger got out, the other 4 were trapped in the car and were burned alive. The mother of one of the victims arrived at the scene while the car was still burning with her daughter inside. She said the driver looked at her and said “my mother is going to kill me, I wrecked her car”. Her friends burning alive meant nothing.

    Because it is CA and she is 17, she is going to trial on misdemeanor charges in JUVENILE court. IF convicted, the maximum sentence in ONE YEAR in a juvenile facility. And that is only because the judge rejected her bid to go to a “diversion program” instead.

    Bitter is now equating being 91 and being the sole caretaker mercy killing his wife with severe Alzheimer’s to a a young woman killing her three young children.

    I hope he doesn’t actually make such an analogy in court.

    The jury, or at least part of it, will believe it too.

    And btw, the insanity defense was designed for people actually diagnosed and certifiably insane.

    This woman was not insane. Her husband didn’t think she was insane, her co-workers didn’t think she was insane, her friends didn’t think she was insane, her therapist did not think she was insane (testified that she had “no concerns”). Depressed? Ok. Suicidal? Maybe.

    The whole narrative of the defense is that she needed help but the mean society did not give her any, so of course killing her children was inevitable and justified.

    The Bitters on the jury will let her off.

    Zzzzzzzzz I am not as soft as you pretend. I would put drunk driving killers in jail for life. I did not say if I would vote to convict or not. I think her attorneys are making their argument.

    As for my skills in court, you literally know nothing. I believe you are successful in what you do for work. I know you would not be successful in what I do.

    In a criminal case, you look at intent. I do not know if that woman had the capacity to legally form that intent. I do know that Jason’s beloved old killer intended to kill his wife and did it.

    She was not insane, she was not diagnosed as insane, nobody who knew or worked with thought she was insane, she wanted to kill her children, she killed her children.

    Now she plays victim because her counsel told her that is the only way she will get off.

    It might be disgusting, but it is not surprising.

    There will be some Bitters in the jury who will eat this up like a fly on roadkill
