  1. DW – The Mets have lost 12 games in a row since Mr. Met hugged Mamdani. Does the mascot have to hug Trump to break the curse?

Last year they were on fire until June and then after their pride night, the team imploded.

Btw, the Circuit Court in VA has already ruled the referendum illegal on several grounds.

The VA SC allowed the referendum to go forward but has not ruled yet on the merits.

They will have to reverse the lower court ruling if they want it to stand. Probably unlikely due to the ideological composition but it will. be interesting to see how the defendants justify this as fair representation.

And there are procedural challenges too:

The lower court ruled that “the initial vote failed to occur before the public began casting ballots in last year’s general election and thus didn’t count toward the two-step process. He also ruled that the state failed to publish the amendment three months before that election, as required by law.”

There was earth shattering news on Oak Island last night. There is a church in Portugal that shows a symbol very similar to a symbol found on Oak Island. This symbol has in the past been associated with the Knights Templar.

    You connect the dots.

Some may wonder why a treasure important enough to be shipped to Oak Island and have a stone road made to transport it and then to be buried over a hundred feet deep in an era without mechanized equipment was never important enough to be retrieved.

Some people are just natural skeptics without imagination.

  5. Walt is the one who buried the treasure. Do you think he could afford his estate with a mile long fence and a private lake on his pensions as a teacher and state legislator?

  6. This is true. I am sure the rare Koi fish Walt flew in special on a charter flight from Japan for his private lake cost over $1000 each.

But Walt probably has hordes buried all over Europe too, you don’t think his frequent trips there are really for tourism, do you? Rumor is he is pissed some a-hole with a metal detector dug up one of his gold and silver hordes in England recently.

    Bitter,

I get no pension as a retired state legislator. Yes, there is a retirement system stayed legislators can participate in and pay into in WV. When I was first elected, I refused to sign up and participate in legislative pension plan.

I was getting a monthly retirement check for teaching from the state.

A few years later, I learned that as a teacher/retired teacher I was one of a short list of people were by law were not allowed to join the legislative retirement system. Teachers and State police, if elected to the legislature, cannot join the legislature pension plan.

  33. Walt, that was such a detailed list of scams! You’re really good at that kind of stuff.

In the meantime wanted to post how crime decreases when addressed appropriately:

    Austin Justice

    @AustinJustice

Memphis was one of the most dangerous cities in America. It’s now becoming a model for how to fight crime when you have a terrible DA. From the peak: – Murders down 47% – Carjackings down 48% – Robberies down 51%. – Vehicle theft down 80%. What changed: 1. State troopers took over interstate patrol, freeing up local officers. 2. Police launched focused initiatives targeting fugitives, violent repeat offenders, and gang members. 3. National Guard, federal agents, and US Marshals came in and made 9,000+ arrests, including 400+ gang members. Plus 629 illegal firearms seized, 150 missing children located. 4. Technology filled the gaps. Police deployed license plate readers citywide, expanded drone use, and opened a downtown command center. A cancer center went from a crime attempt every other week to none. Overall crime is now down more than 43% compared to the same period last year

I have no idea where she is, though I am sure she told me where she was off to today in my bleary eyed just waking up state this morning just before she gave me an oral list of things to do today.

I am claiming the installation of the new garden pathway as her birthday present. Also have a card for her, some candy and a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie she suggested I go get for her today.

This woman really did chs great my life in so many good ways. I owe her a lot.

For past birthdays and anniversaries among the many things I have gifted her (her want list) was a pair of hip waders, boxes of worms for the compost structure, digging her an 11 X 9 X foot 3 foot deep pond at the old house… once I surprised her with a rented Lomo and driver to take us and 8 other friends out to dimner.

  38. For Earth Day, I want to draw attention to the fact that the Russians drained the Aral Sea resulting in an ecological disaster for Central Asia.

And because they previously polluted the rivers that flowed into the Aral Sea, those toxins were left baking in the sun of the former lake bed, and when dried out, the wind whipped them up and spread them all over the world, spreading pollution everywhere.

And the Russians don’t care even a little.

And the media won’t talk about it, because its only the USA that has to take draconian steps to bankrupt ourselves to save the planet, despite being only 4% of the world’s population.

What we oppose is left-wing lunacy where we are being asked to bankrupt ourselves on stupidity that won’t make any difference, while the Russians and the other 96% of the world’s population get a free pass.
