  6. he day a parishioner’s letter to the editor or posting something in a Catholic forum changes a Papal position, please let me know.”

    Zzzz…

How do you think a communist pope got elected?

Cardinals elect the pope They rise up through local dioceses that can be influenced by the local parishioners. The reason there are so many liberal/communist cardinals is because so many Catholics have allowed leftists to take over their local dioceses.

Letters to the editors won’t change a Papal position. But if local parishioners started taking stands against Marxism you can bet that eventually the message will get through to the Vatican.

I was not raised Catholic but I grew up in a Catholic country. Even then I remember my parents talking about “red” priests advocating Communist doctrine. Commie Francis and the new communist Pope are products of local dioceses.

The idea that Catholic parishioners have no say in who leads them is stupid. Same for any church. Jews are split into three main categories, Reform, Conservative and Orthodox. These divisions reflect the will of the members.

Now, maybe most US Catholics are now liberals and accepting of the far left Vatican leadership. But even if that is the case, why not try to change it if you are not in agreement?

Odd comment from somebody who clearly has no idea how the Church runs.

If I wanted a say in my religious leader, I would become a Protestant (who may change denominations several times throughout their lives) or Jewish. I think Pope Leo is a leftist who is wrong on many political issues but does not meet the definition of Communism or Marxism as he does not advocate for collective ownership of the means of production.

Why is China obligated to respect a U.S. blockade?”

    Ahhh, good question.

China should advocate for NO blockade by anyone. If they are against blockades, the should tell that to the Iranians, not the US, which wants the straights open to ALL nations.

Now if the Chinese want their ships to be the only ones to skirt the Iranian blockade while all other nations have to abide by it, then the can GFTs, no can do.

The “we oppose blockages except for OUR ships” is not going to be a convincing argument.

  17. Jason must think parishioners elect priests who elect bishops who elect cardinals who elect the Pope.”

No, I only said Cardinals elect the Pope.

I said local parishioners have influence in local dioceses and can make their voices heard. If local parishioners stop attending church or stop making donations, that will certainly be noted. I didn’t say the Catholic Church was a democracy, far from it.

I do know Catholics who have switched churches because of disagreements with the priest or the way the Mass was run or other reasons. That is a form of influence.

As for the the Popes not being communists, you are living in la la land. Francis explicitly said wealth and money and profit were the root of all evil and that the capitalist system was evil. He continuously attacked businesses as evil exploiters of the poor. He ignored the fact Capitalism has lifted billions of people out of poverty, while communism has done the opposite.

So the “does not advocate for control of the means of production” is BS. What is the alternative to Capitalism and market based economies? If you oppose the concept of profit, then you are advocating for control of the means of production.

Proves my point. The parishioners in this case want Latin Mass, if they didn’t there probably wouldn’t be one. They are influencing the church in some manner.

Same could be done if enough parishioners rebelled against the Communist doctrine permeating large sections of the Catholic Church.

In my view, communism will eventually destroy the Catholic Church, because the people that believe in it are not really supporters of any religion, they are using it to further their agenda.

You might hear great praise from the Stop Oil nuts towards the Marxist Pope for supporting their cause, but they don’t care about the church, God, or religion. BREAKING: The company that literally invented Silicon Valley just packed up and left California for good.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) — born in a tiny Palo Alto garage in 1939 with just $538 — has relocated its global headquarters to the Houston area in Texas.

This is the iconic firm that defined American innovation and created the blueprint for Silicon Valley. Now its top executives are gone from San Jose.

Governor Greg Abbott welcomed them with open arms, calling Texas the best place to do business. Gavin Newsom’s office responded with a cold shrug: “Companies come and go.”

No plan. No urgency. Just three dismissive words.

Hundreds of companies have fled California in recent years, citing sky-high taxes (13.3% top rate), crushing regulations, and insane costs. Texas has zero state income tax — saving executives hundreds of thousands every year.

The symbolism is brutal: even the birthplace of Silicon Valley rejected its own home.

If the company that started it all can’t justify staying, what does that say about the future of every business still trapped in California?

But this is the way Popes often frame this situation. Not surprisingly, it comes back to world-view and theology. Most Catholic theologians see man as basically good. I disagree and see man as hopelessly depraved outside of the work of Christ. But the Pope sees the actions of the terrorists as an anomaly because they are good at heart and just need to be shown a good example. So the west, the USA, and Trump in particular should show the example by being nice them. Then they will see the light and stop misbehaving, because they are good in their hearts.

The Popes are very far left wing and believe in Marxist dogma.

Because of that, they are incapable of criticizing anything that may run counter to that dogma.

Right now, Trump, fairly or not, is viewed as the foremost enemy of Marxism in the world, because he is blocking the climate change BS (a vehicle to destroying the capitalist system) and is opposed to world government.

As such, even aligning yourself with a Muslim theocracy spreading terror around the world, including the persecution of Christians and Catholics, is ok because of the larger goal.

Pope Francis: Unfettered capitalism is “the dung of the devil”

Human beings and nature must not be at the service of money. Let us say no to an economy of exclusion and inequality, where money rules, rather than service. That economy kills. That economy excludes. That economy destroys Mother Earth.”

‘And behind all this pain, death and destruction there is the stench of what Basil of Caesarea, one of the church’s first theologians, called ‘the dung of the devil.’ An unfettered pursuit of money rules. That is the dung of the devil.”

    and

Pope Francis also asked for forgiveness for the colonial crimes against the native people “during the so-called conquest of America.” He lashed out against “new colonialism” which takes the form of corporations, lenders, free trade treaties “and the imposition of measures of ‘austerity’ which always tighten the belt of workers and the poor.”

There is a lot more, but you are vested in defending it, so be it.

I am just happy that Trump, Vance, Holman, hopefully others are telling the Pope to take his Marxist dogmas and GFH. Finally someone has the balls to do it.

I also support the right of anybody to tell Trump to F off because Trump tells everybody to F off several times a day. I thought Trump could be a great President if he could occasionally STFU and stop going to war with everybody, including his own supporters.

Reagan was a great President because he lead others rather than trashing them. Reagan worked with Pope JP2, Thatcher, and NATO. Trump is incapable or working with anybody for long because he is so desperate to be the only one on Earth who matters. Even when Trump does something good, and he often does, he makes it about his perceived greatness rather than the result.

And unfortunately, I did not attend any elite prep schools, I went to public schools in the country I was raised. I am guilty of attending an elite college and graduate school, sue me.

You say you disagree with the Pope on a couple things. But his attacks on capitalism is not one of them, right?

So thus I assume you agree when he (Francis) called capitalism the ‘dung of the devil”, and the system of exclusion and inequality? The system that kills.

I assume you must agree that capitalism is the New Colonialism because it includes “corporations, lenders, and free trade agreements”?

I think my criticism is actually constructive. My view is that as the church gets involved in promoting economic systems (Marxism) and world government and energy policy etc it is planting the seeds of its own demise. While these ideas are popular with a certain political class and the majority of the world’s media, the people it most appeals to are not friends of the church, they are using it to promote their agenda.

Thirty years ago, the western democracies would not have gone out of their way to close their airspace to the America military in an Iranian operation. Now? They have to appease their Moslem voters so we get what we have now. A little cooperation would have been nice or at least can the lectures. We then replace it with a defensive and perhaps even an offensive alliance with Italy, the Visegrad countries, the Balkans, Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic states. Heck, throw in Ukraine as well.
