  1. Bitter made that contest a quick one. Well played. Moscow Russia is the place.

  2. Just down the street from the Kremlin, I guess I should have gone a bit further down the street to make it more competitive.

Jason, don’t admit defeat on the “Trump won’t sell out Ukraine” thing just yet.

  9. Is stealing Ukraine’s natural resources part of selling out Ukraine?

  10. Nothing ensures “a guarantee of sovereignty” more than financial interests.

As such, a strong financial commitment to Ukraine is indeed a good guarantee for Ukraine because once invested, the US has a good (political and financial) incentive to ensure the Russians stay out.

Key quote: “The Government of the United States of America intends to provide a long-term financial commitment to the development of a stable and economically prosperous Ukraine,” the draft says.

    • It adds that the fund will be designed “so as to invest in projects in Ukraine and attract investments to increase development,” including in areas like mining and ports.
    • But it also suggests the U.S. will recoup some of its expenditures related to “defending, reconstructing, and returning Ukraine” to its pre-war GDP.”

I am not sure the US is stealing Ukraine’s natural resources, but it is definitely using coercion to get a favorable deal.

I will reserve judgment, the devil is in the details.

In any case, if the US does offer a sovereignty guarantee, that is a positive. Let’s see how much of Ukraine will be guaranteed.

“Democrats believe that the Trump administration has overreached and is rapidly becoming unpopular. Thus, the New York Times headlines: “Republicans Face Angry Voters at Town Halls, Hinting at Broader Backlash.””

    -Angry voters? Where?

Did a Republican get elected anywhere right outside D.C.?

Talk to me next fall, let’s see how things go at least for the next 6 months.

Any Republican should only talk about the potential July 2026 DOGE Dividend.

    Keep digging, DOGE-gies!

-They haven’t developed them yet. What were they waiting for?

With the United States involved, we can try to develop Ukraine like we developed Germany and Japan after WWII.

That will hopefully help them in regards to business and also in forming a government which isn’t world-renowned for its corruption.

“Despite what would seem to be a decisive popular rebuke to the political status quo, Germans are likely to continue receiving a version of it. CDU leader Friedrich Merz, a businessman and committed Atlanticist who now looks set to become Germany’s next chancellor, has promised to toughen Germany’s immigration laws, slash regulations to promote economic growth, and assume a leading role in Europe’s efforts to resist the Trump administration. But he has ruled out the possibility of forming a coalition with the AfD, which means his only viable option is to form a “grand coalition” with the SPD, which will likely force the CDU to moderate on some or all of these issues.”

-This looks, to me, like United States 2016, where there was a clear desire to change course, but the Republican Congress chose the status quo. It took 8 more years to get to where they may follow the real change agent. Hopefully they will jump on the TrumpDOGETrain, and get legislation to back up any of Trump’s EOs that need to be made permanent.
