I am not a big fan of Hegseth for this position and I think there were better names but the Dem attempt to “Kavanaugh” him was pretty disgusting, they could have made it about his qualifications but they decided to smear him instead.

The statement someone wrote for Mitch did mention saying you’re a “change agent” doesn’t make you one. I think that’s the key topic; Mitch’s handlers don’t want change in the military.

There are currently 74 Federal IGs – half of which are appointed by the president, and the other half by agency heads. If Trump fired the ones appointed by a president I think that would be within his right to do so.

The article complains about the fact that the incoming Trump administration has paused many actions by the bureaucracy that were in progress under the Biden administration. And–horror of horrors!–some DEI employees have been placed on leave, while the EPA is, for the moment, “pretty much shut down.”
What’s funny, of course, is that the Post thinks that impeding the federal workforce is a badthing. The rest of us would say, they are finally starting to catch on.

Here is what I believe.
I do NOT believe unicorns exist.
I think Bigfoot MIGHT exist.
I believe there IS a rabod ideological group (call it Deep State or whatever you will) that works in a somewhat coordinated fashion to fund and push the far left agenda. And opposed Trump’s agenda in his first term and will work to oppose in in Trump’s second term (or any R or Conservative agenda).
I believe you could call a number of people who work in the federal government as part of this group.
I believe you could put a portion of the MSM in this group.
I believe you could put most of the people who want to see America fail and fall in this group.
I would put those behind the coordinated lawfare efforts targeting Trump in this group.
I believe that the federal government has gotten far too powerful and intrusive and yet I KNOW there are plenty of folks in and out of government who feel that the the feds have not gotten enough power to their liking and would push for the feds to be even MORE powerful and in their pea brain minds think the people are not worthy of running their lives and think only the feds can do that and happens only if the feds have MORE power. THEN they can social engineer what they want in society–which will destroy us.
I believe the voters elected Trump in 2024 to right the ship of state and end the Biden goofiness both foreign and domestic. And the voters felt Kamala was in no way going to change anything.
I support Trump’s efforts to round up and deport illegal immigrants–starting with the most violent and those with criminal records beyond the entering the country illegally.
I believe Trump is goofy. I believe Trump cannot help himself in making unforced errors and cannot change in attacking and trying to destroy anyone, especially Rs (who he NEEDS) who dare to oppose and disagree with him on anything. I believe Trump misreads what his reelection meant and think that Trump thinks 90% of the people love him and will support him whatever he does.
I support Trump’s efforts to get rid of DEI goofiness.
I believe Trump renaming the Gulf of Mexico is stupid.
Same for Trump’s push to somehow take Greenland and retake the Panama Canal.
Same for Trump EO unconstitutionally ending birthright citizenship.
Same for pardoning or whatever even the people who assaulted police officers on Jan 6. Should have been on case by case basis.

I wanted to get Walt’s take on this Tim Pool video where he says he is exiting West Virginia with his business due to a law that is similar to California’s AB5. I was surprised at what he described, since it is what you would expect in a progressive state like CA, OR, WA or MD.
