I am always skeptical of predictions of long term demise for either party whether they deserve it or not.

But without a profound change in the educational system I don’t think our inexorable march to socialism will be reversed by any election in the interim. Delayed maybe, reversed no.

While I am encouraged that people who can make a difference like Elon Musk finally see that having the far left control the MSM without any real pushback has given the far left agenda “legitimacy”, I am not sure they are also willing to invest in reversing the far left dominance of academia that is turning

The radical far left policies of Kamala Harris got almost half the vote. Only a small shift occurred since 2020 and although it made a big difference in the results, it did not change the fact that the far left agenda has plenty of support in America.

Matthew Livelsberger, a 37-year-old Army veteran, allegedly rented a Cybertruck in Colorado Springs, where he resides, before driving it to Nevada. Authorities report that he loaded the vehicle with firework mortars, gasoline cans, and other flammable materials.

On Wednesday morning, Livelsberger detonated the vehicle outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The explosion killed him instantly and injured seven others, leaving the scene in chaos as bystanders fled from the massive fireball and plume of smoke.”

Ok so this guy plans a big terrorist attack and then detonates a car in front of a hotel and just kills himself as a result.

I guess we should consider ourselves lucky but let’s get real, as terrorists go this guy is an abject failure.

Our Country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the World! This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS, with weak, ineffective, and virtually nonexistent leadership. The DOJ, FBI, and Democrat state and local prosecutors have not done their job. They are incompetent and corrupt, having spent all of their waking hours unlawfully attacking their political opponent, ME, rather than focusing on protecting Americans from the outside and inside violent SCUM that has infiltrated all aspects of our government, and our Nation itself. Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen to our Country. The CIA must get involved, NOW, before it is too late. The USA is breaking down – A violent erosion of Safety, National Security, and Democracy is taking place all across our Nation. Only strength and powerful leadership will stop it. See you on January 20th. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

    Hello Elon Musk….

“It will be a happy new year for Joseph Shepard, the outgoing president of Western New Mexico University (WNMU), who is scheduled to receive a $1.9 million lump-sum payment on January 15 as part of a severance package after resigning amid allegations of “wasteful” and “improper” spending. Under the agreement, which the public university’s five-member Board of Regents unanimously approved on December 20, Shepard, who had been receiving about $415,000 annually in salary and bonuses as WNMU’s president, will step down into a tenured position paying him $200,000 a year to teach a couple of business classes each semester. The salary is guaranteed for at least five years, adding another $1 million to the cost for taxpayers.

That sweetheart deal for Shepard came a month after a scathing report from New Mexico State Auditor Joseph M. Maestas highlighted $214,000 in travel spending that violated WNMU’s own policies, along with another $150,000 or so in improper charges on university credit cards. One example of the former: The university spent $25,500 in taxpayer money for six staff members to undergo training at a Ritz-Carlton resort in Palm Springs, California. Searchlight New Mexico, which has been digging into WNMU’s spending practices for more than a year, notes that the same course was available online.

The state auditor’s report, which covers July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2023, describes “$214,261.91 worth of spending covering 402 instances of domestic and international travel and lodging for university staff and leadership” that were “found to be noncompliant with university policies and rules.” It also cites “$149,264.08 worth of spending” on university credit cards by Shepard “covering 91 instances of procurement,” including noncompliant purchases of “high-end custom furnishings” for Shepard’s house on the WNMU campus in Silver City.”

Authorities no longer believe there are any other suspects involved in the New Year’s truck attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans that killed 14 people and injured 35 others, the FBI said Thursday.

After investigators reviewed all of the surveillance videos more closely, it appears that the suspect — 42-year-old Army veteran Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who also died in the attack — placed explosive devices in the area himself and then changed clothes, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The FBI is still investigating whether there were individuals Jabbar spoke to or messaged with prior to the early Wednesday attack, but no one was in the vicinity to help him do anything, the sources said.

#2 has already happened. Pretty sure Pooty Poot knows he ain’t capable of putting the USSR back together.

    Zzzzzzz…. typical Kremlin propaganda.

If Putin didn’t want to recreate the USSR he wouldn’t have annexed Belarus, invaded Chechnia and Georgia and would not be interfering in Moldova and the “Stans” in addition to the invasion of Ukraine.

Putin has himself stated that a Greater Russia is his ambition.

“Vladimir Putin has compared himself to the 18th-century Russian tsar Peter the Great, drawing a parallel between what he portrayed as their twin historic quests to win back Russian lands.

“Peter the Great waged the great northern war for 21 years. It would seem that he was at war with Sweden, he took something from them. He did not take anything from them, he returned [what was Russia’s],” the Russian president said on Thursday after a visiting an exhibition dedicated to the tsar.

After months of denials that Russia is driven by imperial ambitions in Ukraine, Putin appeared to embrace that mission, comparing Peter’s campaign with Russia’s current military actions.

“Apparently, it is also our lot to return [what is Russia’s] and strengthen [the country]. And if we proceed from the fact that these basic values form the basis of our existence, we will certainly succeed in solving the tasks that we face.”

    and

First and foremost it is worth acknowledging that the demise of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century,” Putin said. “As for the Russian people, it became a genuine tragedy. Tens of millions of our fellow citizens and countrymen found themselves beyond the fringes of Russian territory”

The New Orleans terrorist was an ISIS supporter

NEW ORLEANS, Jan 2 (Reuters) – A U.S. Army veteran who drove a truck into a crowd of New Year’s Day revelers had pledged allegiance to Islamic State, but acted alone in the attack that killed at least 14 people, the FBI said on Thursday.

The suspect, who the FBI said was shot dead at the scene after firing at police, has been identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texan who once served in Afghanistan. He drove from Houston to New Orleans on Dec. 31, and posted five videos on Facebook between 1:29 a.m. and 3:02 a.m. on the morning of the attack in which he said he supported IS, the Islamic militant group with fighters in Iraq and Syria, the FBI said.

first video, Jabbar said he previously planned to harm his family and friends, but was concerned that the media coverage would not focus on the “war between the believers and the disbelievers,” FBI Deputy Assistant Director Christopher Raia said at a press conference.

Jabbar also said in the videos that he had joined IS before last summer and provided his last will and testament, Raia said.

“This was an act of terrorism,” Raia said. “It was premeditated and an evil act.” The FBI was still investigating Jabbar’s “path to radicalization,” but the evidence reviewed so far showed that he was clearly inspired by IS, Raia said.”

This keeps me wondering if there won’t be internal pressure in the coming days for Biden to step down, let Harris have a few days as POTUS, you know, to break the glass ceiling, so that the knuckle-draggers will learn that we can survive with a woman POTUS.

Of course that’s all absurd. None of us would be opposed to the RIGHT woman president. We just didn’t want a commie cackling clueless moron, regardless the gender.
