Not really sure that is a definition of a Reagan Republican.

But I certainly have a deep seated distrust of government pencil pushers.

And one important part of the definition of Reagan Republican is belief in limited government. As such, Reagan certainly believed we should have fewer pencil pushers.

  24. I posted my political philosophy before but apparently you slackers don’t notes.

    1. I want governments at all levels to be as small as possible while carrying out essential functions like military defense, military offense, filling potholes, educating but not indoctrinating students, and keeping planes from falling out of the skies and similar concerns.

    2. I want law enforcement at all levels that will be effective at stopping criminals and terrorists. I am opposed to lawfare by Left AND Right.

    3. I want taxes as low as possible to carry out 1 and 2.

    4. I care that the most vulnerable elderly and disabled are not destitute and incapable of caring for themselves. That does not mean blank checks without oversight or establishing huge bureaucracies.

    5. I think abortion is killing a human being. I also support exceptions for the life/health of the woman, rape and incest. I also know that not enough Americans share that view to matter anymore. So, I have adopted an indifference limited to leaving it to the states and not wanting to pay for it.

    6. In conjunction with 5, I think birth control should be inexpensive and readily available. I also think that the fathers of the children have to be financially responsible with the mothers for caring for the child they created.

    7. I think America has vital economic and strategic interests more than 20 feet from our borders and shores.

    8. I support trade policies that keep prices affordable for consumers AND employ as many Americans as possible.

    9. Our immigration system is not really a system. It is broken. I want the border secured. I want employers who knowingly hire illegals to pay them low wages to undercut American workers(a/k/a scumbag employers) to face criminal penalties. Deport the criminals and work on the Dreamers and other illegals next. I would double the number of legal immigrants allowed and consider seasonal work permits as appropriate. The overwhelming number of illegals are hardworking people who want a better life for themselves and their families but that does not mean I want to pay for their goals.

There are R and D caucus rules about what happens in caucus is not to be talked about and is supposed to remain private. This has complicated news releases so far as to the details of what happened in THE MIDDLE.

I am sure the R caucus top dogs are working with authorities to figure out WHAT privileged info from the R caucus can be released that will make the public better understand this story.

BUT, I HAVE SOURCES and can tell you about the beginning of all this that happened many weeks ago, AND what happened in the MIDDLE, and what has transpired afterward. As they say “it is a developing story”.

You can google Dr. Joseph DeSoto arrest and find out what the OFFICIAL media reports are.

There ARE news reports out now about DeSoto’s arrest, but the details of what happened weeks ago (years ago), and what happened in the middle are VERY sketchy which is not shedding a lot of light on things as they occurred

I think Trump agrees. The immigration deadenders will call him a RINO, I am sure…

I will work with the Democrats on a plan, and if we can come up with a plan, but the Democrats have made it very, very difficult to do anything. Republicans are very open to the Dreamers. The Dreamers, we’re talking many years ago. They were brought into this country many years ago, some of them are no longer young people, and in many cases, they become successful,” Trump continued. “They have great jobs. In some cases, they have small businesses. In some cases, they might have large businesses, and we’re going to have to do something with them.”

The report revealed that the FBI had a minor supporting role in responding on Jan. 6, 2021—largely because the event was not deemed at the highest security level by the Department of Homeland Security.”

    PART ONE, BACKGROUND:

Dr. Desoto has lived in Berkeley county for maybe 20 (?) +/- years. He became active in local GOP politics and was active in the county Republican Club. At one point (about 8-10 years ago?) there was some upheaval in the leadership of the BCRClub and DeSoto was selected to finish out the term of the club president who had resigned. He served out the rest of that year and maybe another year in that position. He is very right wing. He is married.

Fast forward to 2024. He lives in a very hard R House of Delegates district–which has, I think, always had an R representing this area of the county for my entire lifetime. He (and another R) both challenge the sitting R conservative incumbent in the 2024 primary. DeSoto wins the primary handily. No D files for the seat, so in the GE, Republican Desoto wins. He, like all other newly elected delegates, will be sworn in and seated in January.

In December–at the same time that 3-day legislative interim meetings are held for the legislators who were elected in 2022–is ALSO the R legislative caucus for those elected in Nov. 2024 to vote on who they select as the R nominee to be Speaker of the House (and in the Senate the R senators decide who will be selected as Senate President).

There is info out there on the internet, one specific site is on the WVCLU (?) website where THEY share what THEY say their investigation found out about DeSoto. On that site, they say that Dr. DeSoto is not a medical doctor, as he claims, and is not licensed to practice in WV or any other state. They dispute the fact that he has treated over 300 persons in Berkeley county and hundreds more on a Navajo Indian Reservations somewhere. Now, Desoto says he gave them medical consultation and advice. They also say that DeSoto claims to have served in the Army as a combat medic for the Rangers and served for maybe 6-8 years. THEY say he only served about 10 months in the military. DEsoto also in his campaign website says he has worked for the CIA and has negotiated with both ISIS and AlQuida (but there is no evidence or documents that this is true at all. DeSoto says he has worked in various colleges and universities and was a Dean ot one of them. THEY say he worked for 6 different universities over an 8 year span and was usually fired for his behavior, and that he was NEVER dean at ANY university. DeSoto claims he was fired because he was a Jew. Yet he also says he is a Christian Jew and says he is a strong follower of his Christian values.

THEY say that at some time ago in FL, Desoto was arrested for failure to pay a girl who gave him a lap dance. I think perhaps those charges were eventually dropped–can’t remember. Someone with the same internet handle that DeSoto uses also has posted on social media about having sex with local prostitutes in Berkeley County.

THEY also say DeSoto accepted a (I think) $1,000 campaign contribution from some PAC that is not registered in WV–a violation of WV campaign finance laws. Additionally, he filed paperwork that said he got a $1,000 contribution from the Berkeley County Republican Association (which does not exist and is not listed as a registered PAC in WV–PERHAPS, he got the donation from the BCR CLUB or BCR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, both of which ARE registered PACs and it I just a clerical error by deSoto, IDK.

Dr Desoto claims that he works for a federal security agency dealing with national defense/national security and often talks about all the national defense /security issue meetings he has to attend. THEY say that he does NOT work for any federal security agency, but instead he IS employed by the U.S. Patent Office.

Apparently, R leadership in the House of Delegates got wind of all of this…and I will share what I know from MY SOURCES in PART 2–LEGISLATIVE CAUCUS DEC 10th and 11th

  108. PART 2–LEGISLATIVE CAUCUS DEC 10th and 11th

ACCORDING TO MY SOURCES, At the R House caucus, APPARENTLY, these allegations were raised by someone and a great deal of discussion and back and forth ensued. At some point, those 88 or 89 R House members voted to expel DESoto from the R December Caucus. DEsoto was obviously upset over all this. ALSO, MY SOURCES tell me that 77 of the R members voted to NOT seat him as a delegate when they meet to take the oath and get sworn in and begin the 2025 legislative session.

FROM WHAT I GATHER, a lot of the opposition to DeSoto has to do with misrepresenting his military record, and that involves both State and Federal laws against “stolen valor” which are both State and Federal felonies. PERHAPS, other concerns were just as important. IDK.

So then, DeSoto begins to make repeated threats (possible verbal, and definitely via social media and by phone texts and conversations) that he was going to kill various members of the WV HOuse of Delegates, including many in the local delegation from here as well as the current Speaker of the House who was unanimously selected by the Rs to continue to be the Speaker in 2025-26.

Which leads to the filing of a complaint with the WV State Police about 3 p.m. on Wed. Dec. 11. The police feel it is a credible threat. They call all the legislators to tell them to take their families to some secure locations always from their homes. Problem is, the interim meetings have just ended in Charleston and the local delegates is on their way taking a 5 hour drive to return to their homes here in the eastern panhandle. They cannot find Desoto, but are actively looking for him. ocla delegates make cell phone calls to warn their families back here and to go to some secure places.

Sometime about midnight (+/-) on Dec. 11, the police found DeSoto after he drove back here from Charleston and apparently arrested him without incident.

THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL ARREST, BUT THE INTERVIEW WITH THE COMPLAINANT who went to the Berkeley County State Police detachment to report the threats being made

(here is where is gets kind of weird)

    BOLD SCRIPT ADDED BY ME

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at approximately 1500 hours, Sgt. Nine spoke to a complainant at the Martinsburg Detachment. Sgt. Nine was advised she wanted to speak about threats that have been made to kill delegates within the West Virgina State legislator.

Upon speaking to the complainant, Sgt. Nine was advised delegate elect Joseph DeSoto was recently involved in a Republican Caucus meeting at the State Capital. Mr. DeSoto and other delegates were advised to be having a vote on removing Mr. DeSoto from his position for undisclosed reasons. It was advised he was voted out of his position, and he was upset. The complainant advised they had spoken to Mr. DeSoto on the phone, yesterday (Tuesday, December 10, 2024), and he advised all about what occurred at the Caucus and he said he was going to kill delegates. Mr. DeSoto advised he was going to kill Michael Hite, Pat McGeehan, Chuck Horst, Bill Ridenour and Roger Hanshaw. When asked what he meant by using the word

“kill”, he advised God called him to kill them.

Sgt. Nine was provided with emails between the complainant and Mr. DeSoto. The emails start on December 10, 2024 at 1514 hours and continue into December 11, 2024. In an email sent by Mr. DeSoto on December 10th

“, he states “they play stupid games they are getting stupid

awards…I am upset only with the eastern panhandle delegates. I have only begun…and won’t stop, I had a vision to destroy them from the angel of Moroni….Hite, Funkhouser, Horst and Wayne Clark.” In the same email he ends with “they can all go to hell,,I will send them there as commanded”. In an email from December 11th

“, Mr. DeSoto stated “I am focused on 4

people.who are evil….not angry but at peace what I need to do.”.

Upon talking to the complainant, Sgt. Nine also observed a text message conversation with the complainant and Mr. DeSoto. The complainant typed within the message “Now stop saying you’re going to kill people.” The response by Mr. DeSoto was “I did say I am going to kill people I said I am going what is necessary to put them from office“.

Talking further with the complainant, it was advised Mr. DeSoto has a temper and can become very angry. Mr. DeSoto has been very upset over things that have been occurring with the political group and things that he believes are being said against him, and feels that he is being attacked and forced out of his position. The above events occurred in Berkeley County, West Virginia.

An FBI Confidential Human Source entered the Capitol on January 6th.

The FBI never asked him to enter the Capitol.

    The CHS didn’t get arrested.

The FBI paid for his travel to D.C.

And the CHS was tasked by the FBI to return for the inauguration of Joe Biden.

  114. Bitterlaw – I had related a story a couple of days ago, about making a delivery to the NYSE in the days after 9/11.

NYPD cops WAIVED me thru checkpoints near Canal Street.

When I approached 26 Federal Plaza, the NY headquarters for the FBI, I was pulled over by federal officers. I was told to step out of the vehicle and was made to open the freight doors again. They were not pleasant. Of course, I was aware of the situation, so I moved slowly and did exactly what I was told.

That said, if an authority figure waives people thru, there has to be a certain amount of responsibility put on those individuals and their institution. If my encounter was with some jackboot who had ripped me out of the truck, as I was in a No-Go Zone, what would happen? Would I be able to use as evidence that the NYPD waived me thru?

I do agree that people who were waived in and WALKED thru the Capitol building that day should take responsibility for their actions, BUT the authorities in charge bear some responsibility as well. Jail terms? Seriously?

As for those who were violent with cops and vandalized the building, they deserve their punishment.

And?……Is there a point to this story? I will die on this hill. If somebody wearing a Deep State uniform and yelled at me through a bullhorn to go in the building, I wouldn’t. But that’s me. I alone accept responsibility for my actions.

    ABSOLUTELY.

He is of outstanding intellect and character. WAs my Minority Leader when I served. He is one of those rare people that if he would have said he wanted me to crash through a wall, I would have done it.

He will make an excellent WV court justice.

The minimum penalty for terroristic threats is minimum of $5,000 fine and/or a minimum of 1 year in jail.

Desoto, before he left Charleston, went to the WV SOS office and changed his party affiliation from R to D.

Apparently, now the DEMS get to choose his replacement for this very hard R delegate district.
