Harris is trying to rewrite all her earlier unpopular policy preferences. She is now for fracking, providing more funding to border patrols, not for defunding the police, and has softened her stance on assault weapons.

Doe this mean that we can now determine what % of Dems/Ind./Rs were not going to vote Biden because he was too old, but now that Biden has dropped out and Kamala has the torch to do the same idiotic policies as Biden, then those voters are swarming back to Biden? Or perhaps, we now have X % of votes who will vote against whoever is oldest?

But the American voters have proven themselves time after time to be very stupid voters.
(Including voting for POTUS candidate A who wants to do X,Y, Z but vote for Sen. or congresscritter B who wants to do the opposite of X,Y,Z.)

By “deep state”, I am referring to a professional staff in the federal government with people who have spent their lifetimes dedicated to specific areas like engineering traffic safety to water quality of mountain streams to food safety to weather forcasting and disease control.

VictrC: I will vote for the democrat because I am a person who wants our country to continue as it is currently. You may be surprised that the majority of people will do the same and see Trump as too risky.

I feel the direction of the country is as bad, or worse than during Obama, who will have caused/increased rapidly the downfall of our society and country moreso than any other President by magnitudes.

If you want to keep the country as it currently is, you would vote for Trump. Its the Dems who are desperate to CHANGE the country into a socialist/communist state where free speech is suppressed, choices in your private lives are curtailed, where children are exploited for sex, the new woke agenda, and I could go on and on. Its Dems who want to throw the borders wide open and bring in all the drugs, violence, and so forth that is destroying our cities.
Its the GOP and Trump trying to save the traditional values of western civilization.

The polling has gone completely haywire since Biden dropped out. During the SAME timespan, one pollster says Trump is +3 in Michigan, while a different pollster says its Border Czar Harris +12 in Michigan. And another pollster says Harris is only +5 in Oregon, compared to a different pollster saying Harris +4 in Arizona. Oregon and Arizona are not in within 1 point of each other.
Its a combo of gaslighting, wish-casting, and legitimate tightening because the Dems have tossed out their demented candidate.

If KH was truly trying to institute communism, I would change my vote. So far, I see no signs of doing anything but continuing the status quo as an old guy who runs his own business and wants to keep benefits for his autistic son, I’m cool with the status quo.

Traditional values of western civ include trial by jury of peers. Telling the truth under oath. Not stealing from your neighbors. Rule of law. Society protecting the innocents among us, and so on. If these ideas are now taboo, then we have already lost, and we have descended into the chaos the left has envisioned for the last 50 years.

Democrats and Kamala do not want to protect the innocents or they would have closed the southern border to keep the drugs out. They would have stopped the madness of mutilating the genitals of children instead encouraging it. I could go on and on.
