In 2020 the GOP had to fend off the QAnon foolishness, but now in 2024 its the Dems with BlueAnon, one-third believe the Trump shooting was staged, and he wasn’t really shot.

DW – you have Joy Reid, who speaks to Americans every day on a show women watch, who specifically believes, and spews, that he was not shot by a bullet. You also have the jackass who used to be on ESPN, Olberman, doing the same thing. They claim he faked it, and was never hit by a bullet.
So it appears, they now are the kooks. Heck. I believe if he had died up there, they would have said it was suicide…

Good to see NYCMike here earleir.
Ann jason made a brief appearance after a several week hiatus.
To both of them and the rest of people here who follow soccer and ice hockey, the reality is the world was a better place before those two things became popular.
And since jason like to sign off with Espanol, I will reach out to him and share with him in an attempt to bridge the cultural divide:
“cudado piso majado!, mi bueno cohonjes! Donde en la enferno es la bibliotec?”

“I would have voted for Trump because despite his isolationist views, he is pragmatic and can often be talked into doing the right thing. Vance is not pragmatic. He is dogmatic.”
Once again, jason makes statements without having a scintilla of evidence to back it up.
And, once again, he will take his ball and go home, and allow others to accrue enough votes to win his state for the Republican candidate against the Democratic candidate.
Reminder: Reagan levied tariffs during his administration…..but somehow it was different.

In regard to abortion issue – I do not have an issue with TrumpVance/RNC removing abortion plank from a national party apparatus. It is back in the states, and it is up to those who think abortion is bad, as I do, to try and change hearts and minds, not by force via the state, but by patient understanding, empathy and care for those who think they can’t handle the arrival of a newborn child.
Trump has spoken quite eloquently, for him, about the beauty of a newborn child, and Vance has pushed for family-friendly legislation that supports child-rearing.

One other note – when I was shot, another young man was shot about a minute later. I have a small scar, last I spoke with the mom of the other man, he was dealing with paralysis from the waist down. Was it luck, the Hand of GOD, fate, past deeds being rewarded/punished?
No idea. But I do Thank God I am here. Not sure if that means the other guy was left to fend for himself, but I do know that the guy who shot at me was pretty intent on causing damage.
That said, I am extremely sorry for Bitterlaw, and how he has to deal with the loss of his niece. It is heartbreaking when a young person you love can’t be reached, so they know they are valued, unique and special. And I do not know why God allowed that to happen.

As the Democrats pull the old switcheroo with Biden, how are they going to handle problems B, C, D, E, and F that logically follow?
B. What to do with Kamala the Kackler (a.k.a.Knees”) Harris? You can move her to the top of the ticket in order to keep the doner money that already came in. But she does worse than Biden against Trump.
C. Do Dems find someone other than Harris to be at the top of the ticket? They have no good candidates that national base and national recognition. Nobody right now that would do better than Biden vs. Trump. What person in their right mind would want to jump in at this late stage and time?
D. If you put someone else at the top other than Harris, do they keep Harris as VP choice, or push her aside like the hope they do with Biden? If the KEEP Harris on the ticket, then they will take salvos of the Biden-HARRIS administration failures. But if they dump both Joe and her, then the Dems could run on a “clean slate” and say to charges of Biden admin failures, “that was them, sadly they failed to perform and deliver for the American people; this time we will do much better.” (which of course is a big fat lie)
E. How will they spin this to all the 8.5 million loyal Dems who voted for Joe Biden in the primaries to be their standard bearer? How do they spin it to the American people that the Democrat party just ignores the democratic process and makes back room deals to suddenly “pick” a new standard bearer?
F. If Joe Biden has now been declared decrepit and unfit to be president in Nov. 2024, how can you explain how he is lucid enough to remain in the white house and be president now from now until Jan., 2025 as president?

President Zelenskyy of Ukraine and I had a very good phone call earlier today. He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and becoming the Republican nominee for President of the United States.
He condemned the heinous assassination attempt last Saturday and remarked about the American people coming together in the spirit of Unity during these times.
I appreciate President Zelenskyy for reaching out because I, as your next President of the United States, will bring peace to the world and end the war that has cost so many lives and devastated countless innocent families. Both sides will be able to come together and negotiate a deal that ends the violence and paves a path forward to prosperity.

I heard Trump was going to call Zelenskyy. Of course there will be those who freak out over the possibility of the war ending with some sort of “compromise” in place. Amazing how Trump is already seeming to take the presidential reins before the election has been held.

BTW unless Harris is put on top of the ticket, the $300M they have in the bank goes away. Another candidate can not use it.
Thats a lot of pizza slices. I think that is going to be a very hard pill to swallow, missing out on that cash, so I believe it will be Harris…if he’s forced off the ticket

I’ll take the bait. Trump is a moron on Ukraine. Vance is worse. Trump will push for Ukraine to surrender and call it compromise.

Vic, while it’s true that the money cannot be directly handed over, it’s not necessarily gone. Joe could start a PAC with the cash and work to help the new ticket. He could also refund the donations and ask the donors to turn right around and send the money to the new ticket instead. Somewhat risky, but I am sure that at least 75% of those who gave money would do so.

While I’ll admit my comment was laced with a bit of sarcasm, however even the mention of “compromise” triggers the word “surrender,” usually followed by the worst case scenario for the Ukrainian people. And, especially at this stage, of a lengthy and destructive war, the probability is that some kind of peace will be negotiated without Putin withdrawing from the territory he has conquered. Had the Uk and US not interfered with earlier peace proposals think about all the lives and villages that would have been spared.
