What I think will be real telling is how much Biden can raise in the next few weeks. From what I’m hearing is the big dem donors are refusing to donate until Biden is replaced. If that is true the Republicans will have a huge advantage. Republicans will have plenty of money to compete. There are plenty of tech billionaires that have switched from Dem support in 2020 to Republican support now. Especially, those that invest in bit coin or crypto currency.

Good. I would expect the same if it had been reversed and a Liberal were the victim. The failures need to be addressed so this never happens again, and we stop with this ridiculous DEI hiring practice that is affecting a lot more than just the Secret Service.
Reality is not a contest to see who feels good. Businesses, emergency services, protective services, aviation…it is all having a direct effect.

JUST IN: The widow of Corey Comperatore has received a call from President Donald Trump after her husband was shot at the PA rally. “He was very kind and said he would continue to call me in the days and weeks ahead,” Helen Comperatore said.
A call came in from Biden too. It was a call she refused to take.

Hi Folks,
I will forego the traditional analysis and get straight to the bottom line.
JD Vance was my first choice for Vice President. His strengths and appeal will soon become apparent to everyone. Also, he has all the right enemies. His supporters outnumber those enemies.
More later.

Trump/Vance is a winner. John King said that 330 electoral votes is possible.

Hi janzam,
A US Marine Vice President is exactly the type of thing that this country needs right now. Great move by President Trump.

Marv, by openly citing Vance as your preference, like I’ve done, you may risk being labeled on the team of “Populists/Trumpers rather than Conservatives” team. Ironically, though I’ve rarely departed from voting conservatively during my life, just seeing the strengths and advantages of Vance elicits downer responses from other “conservatives.”
BTW, 41 million generation Z comprises one of the largest voting blocs, and representatives from this group are happy to see a younger more anti-establishment politician becoming a VP in the presidential race.

I agree Vance’s military service is an asset, as is his ability to stand strong and state facts under the disingenuous interviews by the legacy media. I also earlier felt Trump might not have the courage to select a contentious VP like Vance, and instead chosen one like Bergum who the media and mainstream politicos fancied more.

stop Jan, seriously. Vance was not the best choice, and is not the best choice to be President after Trump. DeSantis, is far and away a better leader, a stronger conservative, and better prepared.
Vance’s stance on 80% of the issues will align with almost everyone here, maybe even 90%. His isolationist polices have long term negative effects on the USA and our freedom.
I actually prefer him to Bergum, Vivek, and a few other candidates, but there were other candidates who would have been better for the country, for Trump, and he does nothing to bring even one new voter to the ticket…in fact, he will cause negative effect in some areas Trump needs to win in order to secure the Presidency.
He is better than Harris, and will defeat her in a debate.
He is a populist.
PS, half of Gen Z can not vote. Those that do vote, do so at a least than 20% rate of participation. An overwhelming majority are so brainwashed they would vote for Satan over Trump (and are).
Vance is the choice and we have to live with it. I will continue to support the Trump candidacy and vote for him in November, as will everyone else on this blog sans Paul and Jason.

What I think is most compelling about the Trump photo is the fact that the secret service agent to Trump’s right looks rattled, and he should. The too-short-to-do-any-good woman in front of Trump has her head down, as though hiding under the protection of Trump. And then there is Trump. Head held high, fist in the air, like a middle-ages warrior-leader taking shots but still leading the troops into battle.

Vic, there are different definitions of populism. One that describes it more on today’s terms is “A political approach that strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups”. That is the appeal of the Trump agenda, as well as the theme of the 2024 RNC Convention – “the forgotten man.” Consequently, Vance checks all the boxes when you look at it from that perspective. Endlessly making comparison to a past wonderful president, or labeling him as an isolationist because he wants peace rather than war between Ukraine and Russia is an opinion, not a fact. That is where you and I differ. However, like you said, Vance is the choice, so I think it’s more beneficial to give him a chance to prove or disprove himself first, dispelling with all the negatives or personal comparisons of someone better until that happens.

Radio show I heard today.
Has a lot of merit.
They said the good news for Trump is that he has a high floor of support (43-45%). The bad news is that Trump has a low ceiling in tyhat he maxes out at about 48%.

History lesson (from the former history teacher Walt)
GO BACK TO 2016 ELECTION
Many, many R candidates in crowded field. Trump wins the primaries.
LARGELY unknown quality and no govt experience Trump (with smaller negatives) face well know Hillary Clinton (with higher negatives). Trump wins a close election.
Trump is immediately and forever HATED by a big swath of voters for denying Hillary and the first woman, etc.
FORWARD TO 2017
Trump begins presidency, has public arguments with people he himself appoints and then fires, etc.. (Unlike Reagan) abrasive Trump fails to try to work across party lines to accomplish his agenda. has big public disputes with other Rs in congress, etc.
Trump admin. is however making progress toward addressing nation’s issues including controlling southern border, etc.
Dems make gains in both House and Senate in 2018.
COVID HITS.
Lots of confusion of what to do, how to do it, etc. Trump makes goofy statements that are blown out of proportion and exaggerated and hurts him with another slice of the voting public. Trump goes more bad mouth, and slash and burn concerning any R who had difference of opinion.
The COVID crisis comes and govt response stumbles, plus the public now seeing an often surly, combative, poor speaker, Trump in action as president for 4 years and even some who in 2016 thought “I am not sure, but let’s give this guy a chance” and voted Trump then, now do not like what they have been seeing in 4 years with Trump in White House and decide they will not vote for Trump a second time in 2020.
FORWARD TO 2020 ELECTION
Dems win a very close and disputed election as they focus on NEGATIVES ABOUT TRUMP and govt response failures to COVID, and do big GOTV in key states. Mayhem follows and lots of confusion remains to fester as no real attempt is made to clear up questions regarding the conduct of the election, vote recounts, mail in ballots, etc. [which I said at the time that doing no clear, deep examination of the election results would cause major problem soon and it did …}
FORWARD TO JAN. 6, 2021
Attack on the U.S Capitol and all that came as a result of that.
……….
FORWARD TO 2024
–Big chunk of voters still hate Trump for defeating Hillary and preventing the first female president.
–Another chunk who even voted FOR Trump in 2016 say unearned my vote for 2020 duo to the failures of his admin. and saw him as NOT being a uniter but the opposite.
–Another chunk of voters has seen Jan. 6, 2021, Trumps actions and inactions then, congressional kangaroo hearings since and MSM and other Dems constantly reporting Trump tried to overthrow the government; and throw in all the “lawfare” court cases to tie up Trump that leaves a bad taste in the mouth of many voters who are determined NOT to put Trump back in White House.
When you are Trump and your CEILING is only about 48%,
THESE CHUNKS OF VOTERS MATTER.
***********************
All the above is WHY I have advocated for someone else BESIDES TRUMP to be the R standard bearer to advocate for conservative/Rep solutions to all the nation’s problems and foreign issues.
BECAUSE: when you have a debate or discussion here is how it goes:
ME: I favor Trump because he will institute policies that will end the Biden caused inflation
DEM (or Indy) DIMWIT: But Trump has all sorts of personal flaws. Orangeman bad.
___________________________
ME: I favor Trump because he will shut off the flow of illegal aliens and secure the southern border.
DEM DIMWIT: But Trump tried to overthrow the country on Jan. 6
_____________________________
ME: I favor a strong and sensible foreign policy so we do NOT have stampede withdrawals from Afghanistan, Russia encouraged to invade Ukraine, and Hamas encouraged to attack Israel.
DEM DIMWIT: But Trump is a convicted felon.
______________________________
ME: I favor Trump because he will KEEP the Trump tax cuts in place that stimulate the economy.
DEM DIMWIT: But Trump is mean spirited and a divider rather than a uniter
______________________
ME: I favor Trump and oppose Biden trying to tell Ukraine how to defend themselves and Biden slow walking need military supplies to Ukraine.
DEM DIMWIT: But Trump does not pay his taxes.

Dems and Biden CANNOT RUN ON ISSUES.
They CAN and WILL run (like they did in 2020) on changing the NARRATIVE from discussion of the ISSUES to instead be all about why TRUMP is NOT FIT to be president and should not get your vote.
I would say 60% (or more) of people agree with me on the ISSUES.
Sad that the majority of R primary voters did NOT vote for SOMEONE else besides TRUMP (with a CEILING of 48%) who could articulate the conservative/R position on
ALL. THE. ISSUES. and not have the narrative redirected from the issues to the R candidate.

As Bryan Adams told us, “Ain’t no use in complaining when you’ve got a job to do.” We’re stuck with Vance so we go forward trying to get Trump elected.
Adams also said, “Spent nights down at the drive-in and that’s where I met you.” However, that is not relevant to the issue at hand. Also, Adams is Canadian so…
