Exceptionally disappointed in Trump. And I was really jazzed up after the debate and more so yesterday. At least I live in CA, where my vote means nothing. I wish Trump the best and am happy that he survived the attempt on his life. That’s the best he can get from me now.

Sometimes, from his actions and decisions, it seems that Trump just does not want to win. Which reinforces my opinion of Trump as a political idiot. THAT is what you get when you have someone who has ZERO experience in government in 2016 and pick him to be your candidate for president. I do not think he has learned ONE THING by being in the White House for 4 years. IMO he still takes advice from nobody who has any sense.
And at the convention Trump might/could give a speech where he is the “unifying” candidate to bring the country together…despite a lot in his past record of what he says and does and his demeanor being just the opposite of that kind of person and being a divider.

So much hand-wringing going on before you even hear Vance’s speech on Wednesday, or the reactions of the greater Republican/independent/conservative democrat contingencies. The same naysaying and whimpering went on in 2016 when Trump became the nominee. In the meantime the country and party survived under Trump. The same will be the case with Vance, and he will appeal to younger voters and especially those struggling in the rust belt. Being that the underlying theme of this convention was “the forgotten man,” Vance fits into that theme far better then anyone else. As for suburban women….they will survive too, and possibly even succumb, leaving their bias behind, to Vance’s poise, charm, and maturity for such a young age.

Back when Trump got the nomination instead of DeSantis, I said here on these pages that now we have to win this election the hard way.
Trump could have picked Youngkin, and made this election super easy, but now once again, we have to do it the hard way.
The gain Trump would have gotten from being shot was probably just handed right back, and so we are back to where we were last week. Trump up slightly, Dems with a demented incumbent.

3 hours ago, the topics to discuss were the implosion of Biden and the assassination attempt on Trump. Now it will be Vance and abortion only occasionally interrupted by abortion and Vance. Going forward, no discussion of school choice or parental rights regarding schools.
I was starting to doubt my prediction from last year that Trump was going to lose. I will go back to that prediction since Trump decided to throw away a chance to win more than his 2020 states.

Vance grew up poor in Appalachia; was a US Marine, got to Yale Law, married a woman with Indian parents (who clerked for Kavanaugh and Roberts). Wrote a bestseller, won a US Senate seat, and is a VP candidate. He’s 39.
I preferred Youngkin, but I’m giving the 1st Millennial on a Presidential ticket a chance.
