“A new national poll is the latest to indicate that regardless of whether former President Trump is found guilty or acquitted in his criminal trial, the verdict will not have a large impact on voters’ perceptions in his 2024 election rematch with President Biden.
Two-thirds of registered voters nationwide questioned in a NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National Poll released on Thursday said a guilty verdict in the trial would make no difference to their vote in the presidential election. Seventeen percent said a conviction of Trump would make them less likely to vote for him and 15% said they’d be more inclined to support the former president at the ballot box.
If Trump is acquitted, three-quarters of those surveyed said it wouldn’t impact their vote. Fourteen percent said a not guilty verdict would make them more likely to back Trump, and 9% said they’d be less likely to vote for the former president.”

AI tells me how this would work if he was jailed and won the election:
The precedent comes from the case of Eugene V. Debs, who ran for president in 1920 while imprisoned for sedition. Debs received nearly a million votes, though he ultimately lost the election. If Trump were to win while incarcerated, most scholars believe his sentence would be postponed or commuted to allow him to carry out his duties as president. Additionally, as president, Trump could potentially pardon himself for any federal crimes he was convicted of, though this remains a legally untested scenario. A presidential self-pardon would not apply to any state crimes like the charges brought against him in New York. So in summary, while not prohibited from running or serving from prison, the weight of expert opinion indicates Trump would likely be released from custody if elected president, potentially by postponing his sentence or through a self-pardon for any federal convictions. However, any state-level convictions would (Per Perplexity.ai)

I love Trump more today than ever! When you’ve lived through it yourself you recognize when they do it to someone else. The political fix was in from the beginning. Disgraceful and corrupt convictions of the leading candidate from the opposition party by a handpicked politicized Dem judge who denied a former President a chance to put on a defense and allowed ridiculously unlawful jury instructions. There is no more shining beacon on a hill with this President, and the current Dem party. They yell Hitler, they scream Nazi, at anyone who opposes them, or even speaks a word that doesn’t fall in line with their dogma…imagine what it is going to be like now, now that they have gotten a President found guilty, without ever stating what the crime was. Here is an interesting question•
What if Trump had sought and won the Democratic nomination in 2008? He was ideologically connected to the hard left candidates he funded. He disrespected and hated John McCain. He might have been President for 2 terms and now be loved by liberals and with an even larger fortune.

Despise Trump. Think he is an imbecile.
Still believe 100% that Trump POLICIES as president were better than Biden’s in every way.
Also think the verdict today in the sham political show trial was disgraceful and must have caused the blindfolded woman of justice to shed tears.

Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to “get” Donald Trump. That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City. This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction. It is often said that no one is above the law, but it is also true that no one is below the law. If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict. In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court.
RDS gave one of the most notable responses, to date, for the behavior of the court and the outcome of today’s trial.

Susan Collins also had a good response;
“It is fundamental to our American system of justice that the government prosecutes cases because of alleged criminal conduct regardless of who the defendant happens to be. In this case the opposite has happened.
The district attorney, who campaigned on a promise to prosecute Donald Trump, brought these charges precisely because of who the defendant was rather than because of any specified criminal conduct.
The political underpinnings of this case further blur the lines between the judicial system and the electoral system, and this verdict likely will be the subject of a protracted appeals process.”
