I watched the Great War last night. It had a lot of good historical information regarding the strategies employed and the horrors of trench warfare. I have studied a lot about WWI and the narrative was very accurate. The portrayal of Pershing was fair, they didn’t try to hold him to a standard that didn’t exist at the time.
It also had too much woke stuff such as criticism of how blacks were treated in 1918, a time when women, white or black, didn’t even have the right to vote yet. I guess it is impossible for anyone to produce anything today without trying to introduce themes that have nothing to do with the story at hand.
