I told this story before. In college, I went to a lecture by a Libertarian speaker. He started by saying there should be no laws regarding alcohol or drugs. I didn’t agree but it got a good reception from some. Then he said that there should be no laws against sex with children. I walked out.
Obviously, that is a small segment but I have been wary of Libertarians since then.
Unsuspecting Family Recovers From ‘Brain Worms’ After Consuming Underdone Bear Meat”
I like meat rare but bear meat should be boiled before you put it on a grill to get rid of a fatty taste.
I don’t hunt bear. PA issues about 220,000 bear licenses a year but only about 3,500 get a bear, so like 98.5% don’t get a bear. I don’t like the odds.
So I get bear meat from the lucky 1.5% that actually bag one. Sue me.
Earlier today, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib was a “surprise guest” at the People’s Conference for Palestine in Detroit, Michigan. “You are an enabler President Biden.” “But we aren’t going to forget in November are we?”

While Bitter continues to make excuses for the Communist Pope, it looks like some people don’t agree “nothing can be done” and what the Pope says “doesn’t matter”.
Bitter will respond with “jason doesn’t want me to go to Mass” in 3, 2, 1…..
I have never made excuses for the Pope’s political statements but Jason knows this. Of course, Jason is not Catholic so his opinion on Church doctrine and practice is irrelevant to me.
I know some Catholics who. will only go to a Latin Mass. They will only kneel at the altar rail for communion and, pre-COVID, would only accept the host placed on their tongue by the priest. They think altar girls are an abomination. They also thought my mother serving as a Eucharistic Minister was an abomination (I did tell them to F off over that). They can what they want but I am not going to their form of Mass.
I don’t care what the “form of Mass” is, and that of course is not what I was talking about.
I also never rendered any opinion on “Church doctrine and practice”.
If someone asked me, I would say priests should be allowed to marry, so I am hardly a defender of conservative church doctrine.
My point is that the Pope is a Communist who thinks capitalism needs to be destroyed as the root of all evil and the world’s economy should be destroyed in favor of a climate change agenda. I think the Pope’s woke agenda is destructive to the church because it is only supported by people who ultimately hate religion and the Catholic church.
Of course, Bitter knows all this, but he wants to be intellectually dishonest to paint me as someone giving opinions on church doctrine, a baldfaced lie.
I thought it was positive that there seems to be a backlash against the Pope’s far left political agenda, but even that seems to trigger Bitter.
Finally, the statement “I never made excuses for the Pope’s political statements” is another lie.
By pretending to not understand what my point is, you are doing exactly that.
“Police are investigating an incident that unfolded at a Catholic church on Sunday where a priest allegedly bit a churchgoer because she was trying to receive the Holy Communion in an improper way, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
The alleged incident took place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and School in St. Cloud during Sunday’s noon Mass. The churchgoer reported the alleged battery to police later that afternoon.
Police have filed an Affidavit of Prosecution Summary against the priest, which will be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office for review. No arrests have been made in this incident.
Oh, but it gets better. The woman had come to an earlier Mass, where the priest apparently was suspicious of her intent when she tried to take the wafer “like she was taking a cookie,” the priest told police. She came back at the next Mass to try again, and the priest offered to place the Eucharist on her tongue. At that point, the woman acted as though she was in the self-serve lane at the local Country Kitchen Buffet:
That’s when the woman allegedly pushed him and aggressively grabbed the bowl that contained the Communion wafers in an attempt to receive Holy Communion herself, the priest told police.
This act was something the priest considered to be sacrilegious, so he bit her, he told police.”
Zzzzzz. Jason was never able to find a single post at the original HHR where I defended the Pope’s political views because there were none. He will continue his lie here but there is only 1 year of posts.
If Jason wants to become a Catholic, he can be baptized and join any time. Otherwise, his opinions mean nothing to me.
It is interesting that Jason has such fascination with the Catholic Church. He doesn’t seem interested in the many Protestants at HHR. I wonder why not.
Well the Protestants don’t have a leader that is a Communist that declared that wealth is the source of all evil and we need to destroy the capitalist system in the name of climate change.
However, there are plenty of woke Protestant pastors and congregations, I am sure.
You are. Why never any comments about Methodists, Hindus, or Shintoism? You hunt for articles about the Catholic Church but then pretend you have no interest in the Church. Seriously, find a parish and begin the process. I think you can be a member by next Easter.
Zzzzzzzz. Jason posts more about the Catholic Church than Tim V. He actually used to tell me I was going to Hell and called the Vatican the Whore of Babylon.
I do miss Tim V. He hated my religion but seemed like a nice guy devoted to his family.
I don’t go to Mass very often. I still believe Jesus rose from the dead and the Eucharist is his body and blood. Both can be true.
I’m lazy. I married a Jewish woman and my children were not baptized. They can make their own decisions. I am hardly an ideal Catholic but better than Biden.
You are not supposed to take the host home. It is to be consumed there. If she was taking it to a sick person, the proper procedure is to request that a Priest or Eucharistic Minister visit their home.
Jason never tells me what I am supposed to do about the Pope. I didn’t elect him and I don’t think he would take my call. Jason speaks Spanish. Maybe he should call him.

Congratulations are in order for newlyweds Marjorie Fiterman, age 102, and Bernie Littman, age 100, of Philadelphia, who just got married on Sunday, May 19, at the senior living facility where they first met.

Bitter could have gone, but he probably thinks Catholics can’t attend Jewish weddings like he thinks non-Catholics cannot criticize the Communist Pope.
Jason never tells me what I am supposed to do about the Pope.”
My pleasure.
You can start by stopping making excuses for him and pretending that what the Pope says outside the Church doctrine “doesn’t matter”. Then you can stop saying that you have to be Catholic to criticize the Pope whose Marxist exhortations are directed at EVERYBODY.
I just visited the Mission in Santa Barbara this morning. Too late for Mass (the bells were ringing as we pulled up, and by the time we found parking and got the kids walked over, it was halfway done). We contented ourselves to walk the limited free the grounds and the gift shop. They seemed more concerned with the Italian festival going on (including ridiculously overpriced food and street art exhorting me to read banned books; Beloved by Toni Morrison, perhaps?), and rushed the parishioners out at the end of Mass to get a tour group started (so I couldn’t take my son into the chapel for a prayer to our departed family members). I guess St. Peter’s must be the same; when a church becomes a tourist attraction, the faithful take second place.
But what really got me was the info board with a message from the Franciscans to honor Dope Frank’s second encyclical directing us to honor his commitment to social justice and caring for “our common home” ie climate justice. Their philosophy is that St. Francis cared for the animals and his gardens, so we must follow in his footsteps and sign up with Greenpeace or something like that.
I confess that Orthodoxy is looking more appealing by the day, though they have their share of Pinkos as well.
What the Pope says on political matters doesn’t mean anything to me beyond disagreeing with him. I only have to listen to him on matters of faith. To date, Jesus still rose from the dead and the Eucharist is his body and blood.
Jason knows I don’t agree with the Pope on political matters but he is so desperate to fight with a first tier A-hole that he claims I am against interfaith weddings even though I am in one.
I saw that the 30 year old golfer killed himself. It was reported that he died “by suicide.” I hate that expression. It makes it seem like suicide snuck up on him and he is not responsible for his own death. Sadly, he was.
So that is exactly what I said, that you think what the Pope says outside matters of faith doesn’t matter.
But you are wrong, they do matter, and his Marxist exhortations are used by the left to further their agenda and by the enemies of the Catholic church to try to destroy it.
Woke morons on Naked and Afraid are starving, but when they finally are able to kill an animal they feel compelled to whine and feel sorry and apologize to the dead animal.
Bitter is full of crap about Bob Dylan. His attempt to paint Dylan as some kind of leftist radical is about 60 years out of date.

In the meantime, however, Dylan had decided that this was not what he wanted to be. In mid-1964, he explained to critic Nat Hentoff: “Me, I don’t want to write for people anymore – you know, be a spokesman. Alarmed by the discovery of authoritarianism at the heart of the movement for liberation (and within himself), he rebels against the left’s self-righteousness. He pours bile on the “self-ordained professor/ Too serious to fool”. He scorns what he sees as the dead culture of political activism: “memorising politics/ Of ancient history”.

Dylan hasn’t been a radical leftist in decades. But Bitter is still making excuses for Springsteen, a Marxist ideologue who is still doing concerts for Biden and preaching the dictatorship of the proletariat.
Springsteen said this in 2020. Maybe if Trump wins he can move to his paradise of North Korea.
“If Trump is reelected — which he will not be; I’m predicting right now he’s gonna lose — if by some happenstance he should be, I’ll see you on the next plane,” Springsteen said,.
Another baseless “making excuses” with no explanation from Jason.
What is controversial about the line in Thunder Road, “You ain’t a beauty but hey, you’re alright.” I have only been to one Springsteen concert with my wife but Jason pretends I am a super fan.
As for Dylan, Jason believes in redemption. I don’t.

I was alone on the other thread!! I didnt get an email about the new thread, which has happened to me before, so i clicked on a couple links and here I am. Got to see Catholicism replace Ukraine today as the “Argument du jour”…”that sounds good, Ill have that”
Bitter – can you tell me what the series is. I think WWI is extremely interesting. So odd how it came about, and how close it was to not happening…as well as how the world wasn’t ready for this massive change in how warfare would be conducted.
