1. According to this poll Biden is up. However, his recent visit to NH, like most of his state visits, lacks a sizable audience and no enthusiasm.

Similar theft has been reported going on in Ukraine, even prompting Sec.Burns to recently pay a visit, warning officials to stop stealing. However, none of that behavior is ever acknowledged here, and instead people posting such reports are harangued and accused of posting propaganda.

Disapproval of the unaudited and mismanaged monies sent to Ukraine, via the American tax payer, is hardly pro-Putin or a talking point. It’s factually pointing out how imprudent our fiscal foreign policies are, as well as how they heavily weigh on the failing economics of our own country, over-burdened by unsustainable debt. You, though, don’t want to go into any of the above, and instead find the Putin refrain much easier to insert in your acerbic retorts.

Voter fraud is much more sophisticated now, way beyond the dead voting. Mail in voting has expedited voter fraud, along with chain of custody/ signature verification lapses, and endless times to vote and count the vote.

  13. Bitter, why don’t you post recent news clips or stories “about Ukrainians who have been murdered, injured, tortured, raped or displaced by Putin’s troops?”

As for me I post current stories about Ukraine from Ukrainian news, NYT, WSJ, Newsweek, Reuters, sometimes The Guardian which talk about how US money, to be spent on fortifications against Russia gaining more ground, disappearing into corrupt hands – making it easy for Russian troops to walk in and take over. Other current news describe how fatigued Ukrainian troops are, having no respite from the front lines, and either too few men to fight or men who are not combat-ready to fight. Then there is current news about parents trying to get their kids out of Ukraine so they don’t have to die for a cause going south, and mainly benefiting the elite oligarchs or the US weapon manufacturers.

Give me links to something factual to go on, Bitter, instead of the same old, same old unlinked generalizations you’ve posted for two years.

And, Bitter loves to cherry-pick posts. What about all the other sources listed, Bitter (Ukrainian news, NYT, WSJ, Newsweek, Reuters), are they left wing? As for The Guardian, it has given more of a day to day European perspective, more anti-Russia, regardless of their ideological bent.

BTW, where are all your “current” sources, giving a Spring 2024 analysis of the war?

Vic, as I think you may be aligned in some way to the armament industry, I can understand why you wouldn’t like me talking about them being one of the prime beneficiaries of this war.

  25. Jan, you can criticize the “armament industry” with your Ron Paul school of international affairs approach, but I only criticize when you make unfounded allegations, such as “US money, to be spent on fortifications against Russia gaining more ground, disappearing into corrupt hands…”

It’s ridiculous to make that comment when you know nothing of what is happening there, and again, it goes to what Bitter does say, the person to blame for this war is Putin. No one else.

Is there waste, absolutely. Is it enough to consider allowing Russia to take over all of Ukraine. No.

Are there a few young men who don’t want to fight, or desert their posts. Yes. Does it mean that its a large percentage. Absolutely not. The Ukrainians are fighting for their country, and their lives, and will do so until the end. Stories of abandoning the fight are again, straight from the coward Ron Paul school of international politics.

If you just said, “hey, we should have a better auditing of the money/equipment being sent/spent” I can respect that. The abandoning of the Ukrainian people is where you lose me.

You’re right Vic, I can only extrapolate what I read or hear in interviews. I’m not there, and neither are Bitter, Jason Slava Ukraini, or you (at least at this moment). The articles, interviews and information I read and hear tell a different story than you, however, about how many Ukrainian citizens, military and government officials view this war after over 2 years of brutal engagement with Russia. Many are tired, some of Russian heritage (like in Crimea) don’t mind becoming part of Russia. Others, a smaller number than at the beginning of Russia’s invasion, want to continue fighting. These people, though, are probably not on the front lines, or vulnerable in having loved ones forcibly conscripted into military service. Furthermore, I haven’t followed Ron Paul politics or ideology, except for when his son became Fauci’s nemesis. So, my thinking is derived independently from my own research, and concerns for this country’s fiscal soundness and border security.

    https://www.newsweek.com/ukraine-aid-packages-leave-many-unanswered-questions-opinion-1901975

“A recent poll we conducted of voters in battleground states found that three out of four respondents opposed sending more aid to Ukraine without fortifying our own border. Most (56 percent) also felt that the United States had already sent too much aid to Ukraine—and that was before this latest package passed.

They’re right. Since 2022, Congress has designated more than $173 billion for the conflict in Ukraine—nearly as much as the Army’s annual budget and about $1,300 per American household—and there is still no plan for victory or peace from the commander in chief. All of this, of course, comes on top of an $895 billion budget for the Department of Defense this year.”

  38. Jan, you have no clue how “involved” anyone is there, but I can tell you that you are so far off base its absurd.

You are 100% correct in saying that Crimeans actually consider themselves Russian, and prefer to be part of Russia. The rest of Ukraine does not. They are fighting for their lives, and this idea that they are sick of fighting and that a “smaller number want to continue fighting” is absolutely absurd. They want Russia out of their country. They remember all too well what Russian control of their country means, and do not want it.

I am calling you out as wrong. Dead wrong. You have no clue what the people on the ground there want, but I can tell you what they don’t want, to be under the control of Russia once again.

  40. It is a very small minded view. Republicans were always leaders in foreign policy, Reagan being the real hero. I said it once, Ill say it a million times, its the lies the Ron Paul coward crowd fed into the party, ironically, done in order to destroy it because that is their long term goal. Destroy all parties so that there is anarchy and they can smoke their weed, and live in moms basement, but I digress.

This isolationism was fed by the few that infiltrated, which said, if only we didn’t spend money elsewhere, somehow it would be either refunded to us, or used on their priorities. As Bitter has clearly said, not one single cent of that money would ever go to any priority that the Republican, or conservatives, would want. NOT ONE PENNY.

Jan…if you had just ended with, “we sure do need some more oversight to ensure that we are getting maximum usage of the equipment/money we send”…no one would argue with you. But the absurdity that the Ukrainians don’t want to fight to keep their sovereign nation is absurd.

“Ben Gvir Says He Would Be ‘Very Happy’ To Live in GazaThe Israeli national security minister repeated his call for the expulsion of Palestinians and the establishment of Jewish settlements in Gaza

sraeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir has repeated his call for the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza to make room for Jewish settlers and said he would be “very happy” to live in the Strip.

In an interview with the Haredi news outlet Kikar HaShabatBen Gvir said Israel must have complete control of Gaza. “Only the state of Israel. No one else. A full occupation of Gaza. Israeli control. Jewish settlement,” he said. “But that is not enough. There is another very important, essential step, which is encouraging emigration.”

When asked if he meant the re-establishment of Jewish settlements that were dismantled in 2005, Ben Gvir said Israel should go much further. “Not only that. If we do indeed see emigration, with hundreds of thousands leaving, we can bring in more and more and more people,” he said, adding, “I will be very happy to live in Gaza.”

Ben Gvir and other Israeli officials have framed their desire for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza as “voluntary migration,” but the Israeli onslaught is making the Strip uninhabitable and could give the Palestinians no choice but to leave if they have the option.”

Even if you believe the terrorist’s numbers of 30k dead (most likely not even half of that), you can bet most of the “victims” were actually Hamas terrorists, that is only about 1% of the population of Gaza.
