I support a strong FBI because it is responsible for a huge portion of law enforcement responsibilities in the US, including counter terrorism, murder, kidnapping, counterfeiting, bank robberies, human trafficking, fraud, smuggling, drug trafficking, child pornography and many other crime control aspects.
I think the FBI should be de-politicized and I think putting the building in DC reduces the chances of that happening.
I hope that is clear enough for Tina who said she was confused.

So, in 2018, the FBI was not even asking for a new building. Congress had appropriated no money for a new building, McConnell was saying it was a BAD idea, but Trump WANTED it. He wanted to build a “big beautiful new building” whatever the cost, right across from his hotel.
There would be no new FBI Building if it had not been a priority of the Trump Administration. Of course, he wants a very expensive new FBI building in Washington D.C.
