Any suggestions are welcome under the logo. I just put in “Politics, Society, & Culture” as a placeholder, and took out what was already in the logo, as it seemed pointless to repeat it.
Most of what is argued about here involves Politics, Society, and Culture, so it seemed to fit, but other ideas welcome.
“We’re gonna find out that what happened as a consequence of the crisis we had in health is gonna have a lasting effect and we just gotta get people to move again.”
“In a landmark ruling this morning, the Supreme Court held that it is unconstitutional for Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act to require racial gerrymandering under any circumstances. The Court’s ruling, which it said will go into effect immediately, orders all states that have racially gerrymandered their districts to redraw ahead of the 2024 elections. By our quick calculations, this will affect about 32 districts in 15 different states, endangering several longtime incumbents and providing Republicans with a half-dozen prime pickup opportunities.”
I stole that from RRH. I didn’t post the whole thing because even Vic would have caught on…
“The 6-4 opinion, written by retired Justice Anthony Kennedy (sitting by special designation), overrules two prior landmark cases. In Calvin v. North Carolina, the Court sanctioned division of counties, cities, and neighborhoods along strict racial lines as essential to eliminate racial divisions. Twelve years later, in Ball v. Georgia, the Court announced that the racial composition required to form a VRA district may be adjusted upward and downward based on partisan factors, providing VRA protections to districts as high as 60% white while denying it to districts as high as 60% of a single minority, subject to the report of a special master appointed by the Democratic National Committee.
Dissenting, the liberal Justices chided the majority for overruling longstanding precedent. “The Calvin-Ball standard has been the bedrock of Voting Rights Act jurisprudence for generations. The ability of judges to set Calvin-Ball thresholds based on the interests of political parties and lawyers, to ensure that a district’s representation is determined on the basis of race and race alone, is fundamental to our democracy. It is a sad day for America that voters will no longer be surgically divided based on the color of their skin.”
We will be back with much more on the states affected. In a separate opinion, the Justices held that New York could not lawfully count ballots located in a 2017 courthouse renovation toward the results of the 2006 elections.”
“A video from inside a migrant shelter in Denver shows a city leader begging families to move on to other cities and warning of a bleak future if they stay.
In the clip obtained by 9NEWS, Denver’s Newcomer Communications Liaison Andres Carrera, who also serves as Mayor Mike Johnston’s political director, tells newly arrived migrants that Denver cannot support them.
“The opportunities are over,” Carrera says to the group in Spanish. “New York gives you more. Chicago gives you more. So I suggest you go there where there is longer-term shelter. There are also more job opportunities there.”
Denver is offering to pay for migrants’ onward bus fare to destinations of their choice, a decision decried by other cities also struggling with the migrant crisis.”
“According to a new poll conducted exclusively for Daily Mail, only 38 percent of likely voters believe Biden would be alive at the end of another four-year term — again, making the unthinkable a reality, which 36 percent of survey respondents said they believe will happen”
Vontae Davis, famed cornerback, dead at 35. I remember him from the time I still watched football. He retired in the middle of a game in 2018, just walked out at halftime. He was already worth $20 million, maybe he figured it was enough. His explanation was “I just realized I shouldn’t be here”.

I like the logo revamping, especially the visual of the phoenix with the wings spread forward.

so. If we’re tied in NY it must mean Ill is in play, so Trump should plant himself there
if he wins those states does he still need to carry NE-2?

I think the real issue is whether Trump will carry all 50 states or whether Biden can hang on to Delaware.

Just to be clear, I only expect one poll per year from Paladin going forward. Today is it.

I understand. When you have 100% accuracy you don’t want to take unnecessary risks.
As Bunu and Ron and Rand Paul say, voters often screw up polls.

For those of you not old enough to remember the old TV show Paladin, here are the words to their theme song that opened every episode:
“
Paladin, Paladin
Where do you roam?
Paladin, Paladin,
Far, far from home.
He travels on to where ever he must
a chess knight of silver is his badge of trust
There are campfire legends that the plainsmen spin
of the man with the gun of the man called paladin
Paladin, Paladin Where do you roam?
Paladin, Paladin,
Far, far from home.
Far, far from home.
Far, far from home.”

BREAKING NEWS:
I am proud to announce that the FENCE IS DEAD!
NO JOKE!
###############################################
Well, sort of dead.
There was enough break in the rain today to power wash the last 2 and 1/2 sections of fence.
ALL OF IT IS NOW POWER WASHED. Praise the Lord.
Son put in about 12 hours of power washing work (I paid him $15/hour) but I did all the rest.
All–except about 4 sections–are sprayed with fungicide and washed off. So, I have about an hour of work to do…sometime.
My water bill for this month will probably be many, many hundreds of dollars.
When the weather breaks later this week and it stops raining, I can start painting it.
*****************************************************************
In on the FENCE, but I think I will not POST any pictures yet.
I’ll keep you POSTED on the painting. I am sure I will not be BOARD.

I think ads in April for a November race are a waste of money.
Although “theme” ads, like cost of living are probably more effective because people can relate to it in the present,
