Also, I want to add our own borders are wide open for similar reasons there is so much establishment, elitist support for keeping the Ukrainian War well funded. It’s all about the “Benjamins” - the money others are getting from having us become a borderless country. NGOs, the Cartels, the democrat run government entities, the global power brokers are all either making gobs of money or accruing more power, as the U.S. becomes increasingly powerless, less sovereign, and more financially unstable.

Russia has a population around 143 million people. Putin doesn’t care if he loses 300,00 troops. He can keep sending troops over to Ukraine for years. It sucks to lose but you can’t let your emotions make you blind to the fact that Ukraine can not win! I have fought with everybody over everything for 24 years. HHR has been around long enough for posters’ children to be born and become adults. We have been around long enough to say goodbye to others.
Familiarity breeds contempt and that is where we are now. I am guilty of it but not alone.
Remember that I am Irish. If I say l let’s forgive and forget, it is a lie. I don’t forgive and the best I can do is file away what makes me angry and bring it up later.

Very much a Republican, like many others who used to post for years on HHR, who are disgusted by the Trump/Putin wing of the Republican Party and those who make excuses for them. One day, we hope to take our party back. Ukraine is not what tore everyone apart. It was Trump.
Democrats are not acceptable to us either. We do not want to be a part of them and they would not want us. However, so many other former Republicans, who have decided the party is lost forever are now voting for Democrats. This is why Republicans keep losing elections to Democrats year after year. Why do you want this trend to continue if you are actually a Republican? Those who demand complete loyalty to their outlook are Trump fans,.look at a politician as god are Trump fans and who think the government should control lives are Trump fans.

Going over to the equivalent of the Drudge Report, Citizen’s Free Press, there are the above head lines showing what a mess the world is in, over and above the Russia/Ukrainian fiasco.
For me personally, I see the erosion of life all around me. Today, for instance, I picked up some meds medically prescribed for my husband, with Rx insurance for a rounded down $800. Last time, for the same meds, the same insurance company the price was around $500. Before that the costs were under $200. Outside this CVS pharmacy the entire sidewalk was blocked by a homeless encampment littered with tents, belongings and mounds of trash – so much so you had to walk in the street to continue southward. Across the street were a number of old RVs parked. This is an upscale area where crime has blossomed, the environment and city services has declined, and higher taxes appear to be on their way.
Ordinary people have extraordinary problems and expenses. To have this country’s politics and concerns be so focused on one issue, and then deriding anyone saying “enough” to sending more aid overseas, is un-fathomable to me. I also see gameboy, MG, and myself making solid points as to why this aid is unwarranted and taking away from making our own country safe and more financially secure. But, maybe everyone going down with the ship will make everyone happy. bringing us all together under one big miserable tent!

This is the first time that you ever proposed continuing the aid if the funding came from some other budget item. It is an absurd proposal since most of the aid is in the form of already existing weapons. I don’t think that the Post Office has TOW missiles lying around.

We know that he was in jail and died. The cause has been given as pneumonia. We definitely do not know that he was “tortured” or “killed.” That seems unlikely. However, there should be full transparency. If he was in any way mistreated while in custody, America and the world should know.
Will others say the same thing about Navalny?
A major difference is that Navalny never belonged in a prison. His only crime was opposing Putin. This Lira guy was actively trying to aid Russia and overthrow the Ukrainian government. It makes perfect sense that he was imprisoned for that. If there is any actual evidence of anybody in Ukraine doing anything to cause his death, that should be disclosed.

The amount of money the U.S. spends on Ukraine aid translates to a little over 5 PERCENT of the total budget allocated for Defense. This money must go towards the Department of Defense.
Of this 5 PERCENT that is spent from our military budget on Ukraine, 90 PERCENT of THAT is spent WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. It goes to building or replacing weapons for the United States Armed Forces to protect the United States and that also of course creates many jobs for a lot of Americans.
The weapons we are sending to Ukraine would not be as effective in protecting America than the ones we are building or replacing them with for our own use.
If Ukraine loses because the U.S. has abandoned it, that could mean China will take over Taiwan. It could also mean that Putin will move into a NATO country such as Poland or the Baltics. Some think Putin can be trusted and he won’t do that, but can we be sure?
There is an old saying called “pennies on the dollars.” We are virtually spending pennies on Ukraine now as compared to the amount of money we will have to spend if the U.S. is fighting a shooting war against Russia. No Americans are dying now fighting for the U.S. against Ukraine. Why would we want to take the chance of having to send them to fight Russia when what we are trying to do now in helping Ukraine is so much smarter and so much cheaper?
