·I have long said that Russia and Ukraine are the Bloods and the Crips. There are no good guys here. We shouldn’t be giving either of them a penny, or any praise.
wrong. Just wrong. Ukraine didn’t invade Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine
Ukraine is an ally, they need our support. Ukraine is the front line against Russian expansion, they need our support. We are not sending actual dollars. We are sending military equipment made by American workers by American companies.
Mets will win 82 games. They will only sign Alonso IF he spends 6 weeks on the DL with a knee sprain. Mets will sign a former Cy Young winner 5 years too late.
“Despite the strong establishment call for Ukraine aid, conservatives want to focus on what ails the United States.
“Perhaps I get more fired up about what’s going on in America not because I believe it’s worse than Russia or any other country, but because it’s my home,” Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) wrote.”
That’s the way a lot of people in this country feel! To have a senator actually voice and back the sentiments of the people is amazing!
Our biggest national security threat is biden being in the WH.
We need at least a 100% reduction in defense spending because you can’t have a guy like that in charge, and he is a lot better than GWB who used to be in there.
I am a conservative. I have a decades long record of it. I lost elections because I proudly ran on those beliefs. I strongly support military aid to Ukraine. I also strongly support securing the US border. Both can be done.
Not one penny that goes to military aid to Ukraine would ever be spent by Biden/Dems on the border. Jan and Tina lie when they pretend there is a choice between the two.
As a reminder, if you oppose aid to Ukraine because “it’s not our country” or “our own borders matter more” or “people there have had their own issues for a long time that don’t involve us”, it means you also oppose aid to Israel.
Zelenskyy is only able to pursue a war footing with money and arms from the U.S. Furthermore, if Bitter honestly wanted to analyze Ukraine’s capability to continue fighting this war, he would hear the military reports that their ranks have been killed and depleted, only to be replaced by middle-age men involuntarily conscripted into service.
But, instead Bitter rambles on about rape and violence, like Ukraine is the only part of the world where suffering is happening. Meanwhile, our own country has a border governed by cartels, children being lost and trafficked, women raped on their way over here, more crime being committed by Venezuelan or other foreign gangs, and the probability of a terror attack waged here on everyone’s minds. Homeless people, especially vets, are everywhere in encampments, lone tents or rusty RVs. Hotels and public facilities are being taken over by illegal aliens. 60% of our population have no savings. Our country’s debt is almost $35 trillion. Hospitals are over-crammed by 125%. Basically, IMO we need to focus more on getting our own country together, before we are able to help others with spending packages we no longer can afford.
”. Jan and Tina lie when they pretend there is a choice between the two.”
No pretending or lying…the choice I support is to give no more money to Ukraine. If not with the current government then vote for a candidate in ‘24 who will direct money to the border and issues important here.
My job is to ask questions. I have cross-examined hundreds of witnesses over decades. When somebody refuses to answer a question or only answers it with another question, it is because they know an honest answer will make them look bad or it hurts their position.
Since Jan and Tina refuse to answer, I will draw an adverse inference.
They know that without continued military aid, Ukraine will fall and become part of Russia. Tens of millions of Ukrainians will become “citizens” of Russia with no rights and no culture. It will be as if the Soviet Union never fell. Russian military bases will be establish hundreds of miles closer to NATO countries. The Ukrainian soldiers who Jan pretends to care about will be imprisoned or killed. Moldova, Romania, and the Baltic countries will either fall next or become puppet states.
To sum up, they know this and don’t care.
Meanwhile, China will be emboldened to take Taiwan and the U.S. border will not be secure. They also know this and do not care.
“And what happens when Ukraine falls? Answer the question.” What happens is you wake up the next day, hop on the R5 in Radnor and do whatever you do at the law firm. For all practical purposes Ukraine has already fallen. The $50 billion we send them every month, the weapons we promise them that end up being sold to our enemies on the black market, or you volunteering to send your son and/or daughter over there to fight for Zelansky aren’t going to make a difference.
Liar. I used to have months long fights with Tgca because he could not accept that Russia AND China could be threats at the same time. Every honest poster here knows I have warned about China for many years. I also said ruinous trade wars with China did not serve America’s interests. Unfortunately, Putina is not an honest poster
Vic – I can’t believe that the GOP has become the party of isolationism and weakness. I never thought the Dems would be the ones defending America’s strategic interests in Europe.
Unlike the clairvoyance you seem to believe you have Bitter, in calculating the worse case scenario for Ukraine, I tend to look more retrospectively at the events in how this war evolved. The now well known story of Ukraine and Russia working out a peace agreement together in 2022 – agreeing Ukraine would not enter NATO – before Boris Johnson and the U.S. interfered, would have saved untold lives and the wholesale destruction of a country should it have been allowed to be signed.
However, after two years of devastating war and loss of life on both sides, should Ukraine and Russia be at the same point of forging a peace agreement, Ukraine will be in a less favorable position, with no leverage, and will lose at least the territory Russia has already taken over. The Ukrainian people’s fate will be mixed, with an absence of daily fear of being forcibly conscripted by Ukraine along with the terror of violent assault or death by the Russians, it will be weighed down by the loss of their sovereignty and under the rule of Russia.
As for any further loss of life, that you are always demanding Bitter, we still don’t have real figures on how many lives have already been erased by the brutality of war - they all differ from who is adding up the numbers.
Vic, Bitter and Jason call anyone not wanting to send more aid to Ukraine, and piling on more debt on ourselves, “morons, Putin puppets, liars” and so on. You , on the other hand, call the same people as being “under the influence of Ron Paul.” Why can’t all three of you just look at the difference of opinion being a difference of opinion constructed by looking at the war from a different perspective….period?
And you tell for the war lead by demented who authorized the Russian incursion, and the JCOS, led by Milley Vanilli the Ccp asset, and the defense secretary, who is unqualified to tie his own shoes.
I still call it the R5 LOL I rode the R5 every day for 6-7 years from Strafford back in the 90s. Probably saw you get on at the Rosemont stop……just didn’t know it was you. Back to the Ukraine nonsense. Since WW2 what was the last conflict where we spent millions, billions, and trillions which resulted in a positive outcome for the USA and its citizens? I’ll call Korea a draw. 15 years in Vietnam? 20 + in Iraq?? 22 in Afghanistan??? I think the answer is zero. Bet hey….let’s keep printing money backed by air for these causes and continue to dilute the value of the dollar. Food prices are up at least 50% since the plandemic. The fact they claim inflation is at 3.6% is laughable.
It’s disingenuous how those supporting forever aid to Ukraine rarely if ever embark on consideration of the negative internal stories always leaking out: the misuse of our aid through government corruption; the imprisonment and/or disappearance of those protesting the Ukrainian government; the reluctance of civilians to fight; the banning of newspaper, churches and now elections, supposedly to be taking place in March. The fact Russia is appropriately called out as a dictatorship when Ukraine, operating under similar oppressive rules, begs the question “why not?” And, supplying a Churchillian equivalency to Zelenskyy is simply an irrational rationalization of what’s really going on in Ukraine.
Because you fall for idiotic conspiracy theories. How many yachts does Zelensky own? If Ukraine and Russia had a peace agreement in place in 2022, why did Putin invade? You act like a KGB thug killer was forced into a war against his peaceful nature.
There was never a deal. I said on the first day of the war that Ukraine should have been admitted to NATO that day. That was when the war could have ended.
I try to take people at their word on who they pretend to be here. The idea that Jan is a nurse/scientist does not match her cold ruthlessness towards Ukrainians who will die or be Putin’s slaves when Ukraine falls.
Jan. I have not called you names and certainly wouldn’t call Tina names.
I have also come on here and presented my rationale for continued support to Ukraine, and have agreed with you there is a lot of corruption as I’ve witnessed it first hand BUT at this point we can not abandon them because there will be a domino effect and eventually we will be right back to the Cold War, except with an aging dictator who might actually push the red button.
Bitter – i disagree that the Dems have become the party of defending America’s strategic alliances. They would abandon all our traditional Allie’s to support Iran and America hating countries in a heartbeat. The only reason they support Ukraine is because the Ukraine helped get Trump impeached. If it weren’t for that they would not even know where it was on a map.
Jan. The isolationist mantra that the Paul’s espoused was based on the anti-Semitic trope that the “Jews” controlled the international system and were trying to implement the new world order.
Trump followers jumped on it because it was reframed as we’re broke and shouldn’t send money to anyone, and then of course, the trump followers hate Ukraine because of the impeachment, so as you can see, there are a lot of components that have gone into the shift. It’s not as simple as “send the money to the border and we’ll keep them out.”
To close, other than Bunu, I respect each person on here and their right to have a different view on policy. We are the BIG TENT and I welcome different points of view. Unlike the Dems and Paul followers, I don’t want to look in the mirror. I want my orthodoxy to be challenged so I know I’m making the right decisions.
I just hate to see the vitriol and discord that again, was part of the Paul plan to tear the party and then the country apart so that we would devolve into anarchy and chaos.
Walt. Great story!! Can’t believe that guy got hit that many times.
brings up a funny story. My boys were watching young Sheldon and this girl pitcher had a dilema, she didn’t want to strike out her “crush” and make him look bad. My younger boy yelled out “plunk him!!” And his brother affirmed “sounds good to me. Right in the ribs to make it look good”
lol. At least a little old school ball still lives on
I called for audits of every cent to the grifter, and was called a Putin stooge.
I said the optics of the grifter addressing Congress with a Ukrainian flag were beyond awful. And a disaster
I said the monies given to the grifter is being stolen and going to really bad people. Provide by recent news accounts.
I called out the stupidity of the Russian oil ban, when the euros would be buying it, the mullahs, and our military. We were also no longer #1 supplier to have some success at calling for a ban. Russia would make more $$$ than ever before.
I said the spring offensive was a disaster for Ukraine.
Demented did authorize a Russian incursion.
JCOS is incompetent and thr defense secretary and mi,key were ccp assets.
All of the reckless spending fueled inflation (particularly in food, rent, vehicles, housing) and a bad economy. As the economy worsens, efforts to help Ukraine will become more unpopular.
Notice too, how we are not seeei any poles about support for Ukraine (or demented).
Bitter, why are your main arguments to insult those you disagree with, calling them “liars?” I hope that’s not the tactic used when you are in court.
BTW, while Biden didn’t “authorize” Putin’s invasion, he was complicit by first not firmly addressing Putin amassing troops on Ukrainian’s border, and then offering a milquetoast comment about it would be “ok if Russia crossed over a little bit.” Then there was Biden’s earlier interference in the firing of the prosecutor looking into Burisma, provoking speculation that Zelenskyy had damning information holding over Biden’s head, about what was considered money laundering operations being conducted by Biden’s son and Burisma.
Basically, the corruption and dirt in Ukraine is spectacularly dismissed these days, by those wanting to rush even more aid to be spent in ways we know nothing about.
I don’t want an echo chamber. I don’t ban people. However, I will call out the liars and those who do Putin’s bidding at every opportunity.
Post your Gateway Pundit nonsense (where their legal experts have never been inside a law school) and your “inside Ukraine” sources. Stay or go. It makes no difference to me.
Vic, you are always civil here, and do present cogent arguments supporting your POV. I, however, just see the Ukrainian war differently than you do. I don’t see it as a national security crisis, something we’ve had growing on our own southern and more recently northern borders. I think, if there was no profiteering going on for international businesses, war merchants, and Ukrainian oligarchies there would either have been no war, or it would have been resolved a long time ago.
Being a lawyer, Bitter, does not instantaneously put you in the column of being right. Condemning a blog you never read, one who has contributed to successful lawsuits and accurate information, does not color it as conspiratorial either, as many truths begin as maligned conspiracies such as the Russian Collusion story. Even the early flat earthers derided those who sad the earth was round, and no one would fall off the edges should exploration go too far!
Also, Bitter, as you continue to flog the Ukrainian Yacht post into oblivion, the stories about Ukrainians spending money on luxury items and properties with the money gleaned from US aid, are still out there. I don”t bother with them anymore – only posting one piece about them a long time ago – but they sure have captured your interest!
Bl is a neoconservative. He thinks the U.S. should be the world’s police force. Doesn’t matter our national debt is $34 trillion and climbing. Bitter wants to pretend that if Russia takes over Ukraine then he will go after the rest of the former USSR countries which we all know is nonsense. Here are the countries that border Russia:
North Korea – Russia ally
China – Russia ally
Mongolia – controlled by China
Kazakhstan – good relationship
Azerbaijan - Russia ally
Georgia – lost to Russia in 2008
Ukraine – already lost the war
Belarus – Russia ally
Latvia – NATO member
Poland - NATO member
Lithuania – NATO member
Estonia – NATO member
Finland – NATO member
Norway – NATO member
So, as you can see Russia can’t rebuild the former Soviet Union. He maybe evil but he isn’t crazy enough to go to war with NATO. Now, Bitter will accuse me of being a Putin lover and a heartless person who doesn’t care about the Ukrainian people that are dying or about their children being kidnapped or whatever else he will slander me with which is one of the reasons I haven’t posted here much or in Dave’s blog in a long time. If you don’t agree with everything the A-hole club believes you are their enemy and they will try and vilify you with a whole bunch of lies. We have done enough. We have already given more money then all of Europe combined. Time is on Russia’s side. Ukraine is running out of troops. They are so desperate they have guys my age in their 50’s and older fighting. Russia has a population around 143 million people. Putin doesn’t care if he loses 300,00 troops. He can keep sending troops over to Ukraine for years. It sucks to lose but you can’t let your emotions make you blind to the fact that Ukraine can not win! Now, Bitter and his allies here can call me all the names they want I’m going to enjoy the rest of the day with my family.

All of the reckless spending fueled inflation (particularly in food, rent, vehicles, housing) and a bad economy. As the economy worsens, efforts to help Ukraine will become more unpopular.
Notice too, how we are not seeei any poles about support for Ukraine (or demented).

And you have never condemned Putin’s invasion but blame Biden instead. And you still won’t say what happens to the Ukrainians when you get your wish.

Go back to ambulance chasing. Your opinion and comments suck.
