Yesterday was famous for 2 terrible posts. Jan has begun calling Putin’s brutal and unjustified invasion of Ukraine “Zelensky’s war.” Tina says Americans are suffering the most because of the war – completely minimizing the death and destruction inflicted upon Ukrainians. They are entitled to and will be judged by those opinions.
The idea that securing the US border has been harmed by sending military aide to Ukraine is absurd. The reason the border is not secure is because Biden and the Democrats do not want it to be secure. It was not secure before the invasion of Ukraine. It will not begin to be secure until Trump (or another Republican) is in the White House with Republicans holding the House and Senate. If all aide to Ukraine stopped immediately, not $1 would be spent by Biden to improve border security.

Excellent. Perfectly illustrates how stupid and despicable Tina’s and Janzam’s statements are.
“Zelensky’s war”. How disgusting. I supposed they would have called WWII the “Holocaust Victim’s War”.
If Janzam and Tina has any self respect they would read about 1.6 million Ukrainian school children having their schools destroyed and feel some shame at their support for Putin. But neither has any shame.
“The European Commission and Lithuania are allocating 15.5 million euros (around $16.7 million) to build bomb shelters for Ukrainian schools, according to the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency (CPVA) responsible for implementing the project.
Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has reportedly destroyed or damaged one in seven schools in Ukraine and forced 1.6 million schoolchildren out of education. Some 900,000 Ukrainian children study remotely as only schools equipped with bomb shelters are allowed to operate offline.”
Jason – the problem is that the Paul wing has infiltrated and infused this idea that any foreign engagement is bad because we’re spending money, and of course, if it were up to them we’d be on the gold standard lol (because that’s what their God Paul said was the only way to run a country. Little did they know he was heavily invested in gold, hence the reason he advocated for it).
Plus, they blame the Ukraine for getting Trump impeached, so anything to do with support for the Ukraine is bad.
My point. They aren’t advocating for Putin, but against the Ukraine because of Trumps impeachment
Plus, they blame the Ukraine for getting Trump impeached, so anything to do with support for the Ukraine is bad.”
Ridiculous of course. The impeachment idiots actually ignored Zelensky’s statement saying there was no quid pro quo and that he didn’t feel pressured by Trump on the phone call.

Zzzzzz……we spent trillions to win the Cold War, money very well spent,.
Now these morons are whining about a few hundred billion that mean nothing but will save the US trillions in the long run.
If it was not spent on a good cause like keeping the Russians from their expansionist dream of a “Greater Russian” or a new USSR, NOT ONE CENT would be spend on border control, so the idea that somehow the money sent to Ukraine has ANYTHING to do with the border crisis is one of the stupidest ever posted here.
The dem crowd laughed to try to cover it up, as though he was cracking a joke. But this is no joke. Biden had a teleprompter, and he couldn’t read it, and just went off into gibberish like any demented person at a nursing home might do.

My goodness lets look at Joe Biden for a minute.
1. Does he make any difference in the Bush 286. Frankly no. He moves no one outside of his family or perhaps his neighborhood in delaware. He brings nothing to the table.
2. In the crucial suburbs-blue collar inner city- in the rural areas of the swing states of the midwest. Does he make an impact. Joe who? Look what he did in the primary season.
Obama hit a foul ball and McCain hit a grand slam. “
Yeah, DW. I saw all that. Biden gets worse by the day. I particularly liked the picture of blue-collar Joe wearing the hard hat…..backwards. Damn. Someone just make it stop!
Democrats have no choice. They have to replace Joe……and they already are in the planning stage. The only way he remains is if two things happen. 1) they get a conviction of Trump before the election and 2) that conviction gives Biden a lead in the polls. Both have to happen. The problem? What to do about Kamala Harris. That gets sticky.
The above was the transcription from Fox News posted. But these are the words of the President of the United States. Its important to get this right. I carefully did my own transcription and here is a more precise rendering, and a commentary:
“Beer brew here, Heh heh…si it is used to make the brewed beer here zsst…define…O, Earth Rider, thanks for the Great Lakes. I wonder why?”
Commentary: Biden is there speaking to get votes as Wisconsin hangs in the balance. The beer brew(ed) here is union beer, meaning union votes. This thought brings such glee to Biden that has to restate this main point and does so eloquently using a chiastic parallelism. “Beer brew here (by union), it (union) is used to make the brewed beer.”
And union beer is so much better tasting than non-union beer, so Biden continued, intending to define it so, but was overwhelmed with the emotion of being in the Earth Rider brewery, he had to pause to commend them, “O Earth Rider.” Here Biden praises the great god of beer who has given us the Great Lakes as resources to help make such great union beer. Biden ends with “I wonder why?”, a contemplative question as to how blessed he is to be given such support from all the union beer manufacturers.
Ted Kennedy has easily been eclipsed by Biden. Kennedy’s worst moment was in 1996: “And we are going to start on the ’96 campaign to re-elect old Kennedy in the Senate, and re-elect Bill Clinton, and re-electum um buh cumbubund.” And the crowd cheered wildly!
I’m not a fan of poking fun at aging politicians, but Kennedy’s best was definitely the “Obama Osama” moment with “Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser” coming in as a close second.
I see what you are saying about poking fun, but this is a matter of national security. We have someone in the oval office that the rest of the world is laughing at, and not taking seriously. That is a danger to every one of us.
The part that irritates me the most is the inconsistency in the media, the Saturday Night live crowd, etc., when Reagan would eloquently speak, from memory, for an hour, and just ONCE stutter for a second or pause to collect his thoughts, they pounced mercilessly claiming he was too old and going senile.
Now with Biden, its cricket sounds from them. Silence.
It’s called hypocrisy and selective outrage. It’s American politics at its finest. Lose your marbles when your political opponent does/says something, ignore when your political friend does the same. Both sides do this.
I too used to get outraged about this. Now its just amusing. Nice work carrying on this tried and true tradition.

Zzzzzzzz 2 Republicans who hate Trump are supporting the only candidate left for the nomination besides Trump. I will also vote for Haley if she stays in to PA solely because she recognized supporting Ukraine is vital to America’s strategic interests and Trump is a moron on the issue. I am sure I am on Tina’s RINO list.
John Solomon is reporting a letter, from 10 former counter intelligence, counter terrorism FBI agents, has been sent to the House Speaker saying we have never had our national security so vulnerable in the history of the U.S. than it is now. They cite the 100,000 Chinese nationals and Russians crossing our open border being the most concerning, as China doesn’t let men go without a mission.
When you look at this report, along with the one just released by the Heritage Foundation, noting how we no longer have a military equipped with the munitions needed to defend ourselves, why are some here off putting whose name – Putin or Zelenskyy – is in front of a citation referring to the War in Ukraine? There are so many signs and symptoms how we are putting ourself in a position of having an horrific attack we may not be able to recover from, and yet our armchair warriors lean back and scoff at anyone trying to divert attention and aid from a country that many believe have grossly misused their aid. If we were back in the days of the American Revolution it would be like ignoring the early warnings of Paul Revere, in his attempts to get out in front of the approaching British. IMO we are misreading, to our detriment, what are the real dangers facing this country.
BTW, Bitter’s choice for president, Nikki Haley, has just been endorsed by Liz Chaney. It has also been disclosed that Haley’s financial backing is derived from rich dem donors and establishment Bush/Chaney republicans. Yea, way to go in order to have the same old, same old policies in place that so many “conservatives” rail against, and want to replace. Hmmmm….I guess actions though speak louder than words.
Bitter, I’m sorry to say this, but repeating the same sentence over and over again —-> “it’s Putin’s fault, his invasion,” doesn’t take into account that it’s Zelenskyy’s presidency who is extending a war despite his own military disagreeing with him. In fact, like Biden acted in the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle ignoring the advice of his generals, Zelenskyy is doing the same thing, putting his own ego in front of doing what’s right for the welfare of his people.
I explained my only reason for choosing Haley over Trump in the primary. Trump was a Dem donor for decades and that is ok with Jan. Unlike Jan, I will vote for the Republican nominee for President regardless of the VP choice. She will sit out and let Biden win unopposed if Haley is the VP choice of Trump.
If only Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer hadn’t gone to war against the Nazis, he could have lived much longer than his premature death in 1945. “Bonhoeffer’s war” cost him his life.
DW, citing one heroic life sacrificed for freedom is commendable. However, it was a self sacrifice, not one ordered by a 3rd party like Zelenskyy is doing with his conscription police, forcing men to probably die on the front lines, where people have been denied a free press, and now even the right to vote whether or not they support the continuation of this war.
You’re the one bringing Trump up, Bitter, as a distraction to the points being made about the Ukraine War. You also mimic Jeff’s “cult” name-blaming game, even though both you and him seem more “cultish” in your blind support of candidates who, have either suspended their candidacy, or are proceeding on just to add more dead weight to opposing the dems from winning the presidency.
Zzzzzzz You are the one in a cult, Jan. Republican politicians are just a means to defeat Democrats to me. You are the one who says Trump is a savior fighting for you like Braveheart. (You really need to learn history or at least watch the entire movie to see why it is a bad comparison.)
I have watched the movie, Bitter. As usual you make claims you know nothing about. The Braveheart example was used as one who inspired commoners to revolt against their betters, having a brave heart and little else (like power and weapons) to do the fighting. That’s where America is today in confronting the leftist media, democrat administration, intelligence departments, academia. They all have the power while the populist movement has the people. If we win it will be the will of the people, unlike Zelenskyy, where it’s the will of a presiding president who has cancelled elections and the voices of the people – banning newspapers and putting protesters in jail.
There is no legitimacy if you cancel free elections. You’re just blowing smoke from the past where Zelenskyy only won his original election by promising to get rid of government corruption – something that’s still thriving, according to government aids, when tape recordings are turned off when being interviewed by the foreign press.
unlike Zelenskyy, where it’s the will of a presiding president who has cancelled elections and the voices of the people – banning newspapers and putting protesters in jail.”
LOL
If the people of Ukraine wanted to surrender to Russia, there is nothing Zelensky could do to stop it.
The people of Ukraine don’t want to be Russian slaves. Their sacrifice should be admired and their heroic fight against invaders should be supported by whatever measure possible.
Anything else is the shameful Russian propaganda Janzam spews here on a daily basis.
She should be horribly ashamed, but we know she has no shame.
Tina whines about Ukraine lapel pins, which I would wear proudly, while she genuflects every morning to her lifesize poster of her lovable “Pooty Poot”.
I once listened to a Russian man, in person, tell of his experience in a Siberian death camp. The man’s crime was holding church services in his home. After years of starvation and malnutrition, his persecutors decided to play Russian roulette with his life, and they put him into a small shack overnight, with no heat, no insulation, and with temperatures way below zero. During the night, the man collapsed on the floor desperately trying to keep warm. Unexpectedly, he survived until morning and they brought him back into the main building.
After a dozen years or so of this, he survived, and was finally released, though his health was permanently damaged. And this was just for holding church services. Imagine the treatment of those who actually FOUGHT against Russia, or spoke out against them.
Trump has been a liberal Dem most of his life, is on record as favoring partial birth abortion, favoring Dem economic policies, favoring socialized healthcare, favoring deficit spending by printing more money. For decades he funded Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton and the DSCC and a host of other Democrats.
Put Nikki Haley’s “Republican and conservative” credentials against Trump’s and she will win 100 out of a 100 times.
So it you want to be accurate:
Le Dem Trump 68%
Conservative Republican Nikita 28%
“The annexation of Crimea in 2014 marked the beginning of merciless repressions against the inhabitants of the peninsula who disagreed with the new government, primarily the Crimean Tatars. Criminal cases, kidnappings, tortures, and long prison terms have become a grim reality. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, terror in Crimea intensified and spread to new territories occupied by Russia.”
Shipwreckedcrew
@shipwreckedcrew
I heard Andy McCarthy finally mention today the statute I referenced here last week when the Fanni-Willis-as-Home-Wrecker scandal finally broke thru.
18 U.S.C. Sec. 666 is a very powerful public-corruption statute that the feds use against state and local public officials — elected or otherwise — for misappropriation of public funds.
I mentioned it in a post responding to an idiotic story in Just Security by Norm Eisen, Joyce Vance, and Richard Painter about why Willis is not — technically — disqualified even if the allegations are true.
Start with the fact that the story comes from that collection of dunces.
I’m going to Substack this a little later in more detail, but here’s the issue:
Sec. 666 (yeah, everyone knows) says that anyone who works for a government agency that receives more than $10,000 in federal funding, is guilty of a federal crime if the embezzle or otherwise corruptly obtain any property valued at $5000 or more — either themselves or through third parties.
Many mistakenly believe the money taken must be the federal funds — not true.
The receipt of $10,000 or more in federal funding brings the governmental entity under the coverage of the statute. Once under the statue, improperly taking any money in excess of $5000 is a federal crime.
By some accounts, Willis paid her alleged boyfriend more than $1 million in total, and applied for additional funding for her office which she claimed she needed for COVID related expenses. She had more experienced prosecutors on staff already getting a salary, so it is hard to imagine what the justification was for bringing in the boyfriend who lacked any background that seem to make him suited for the job. The boyfriend then turned around and spent some of that money for her financial benefit.
Willis’ problem is not that she might be “conflicted” as an ethical matter — although she clearly is.
Her problem is that she may now be in a position of needing to consider her potential personal criminal liability in connection with her decision-making on the case under prosecution.
More details hopefully up on Substack in the next could of days.

Jason, congrats on your eponymous thread! Do you have old comments saved now that HHR 1.0 has gone to the ether of the interwebs?
DW, that was classic Ted Kennedy. Rush ran that on his TV show. Slowed it down, ran it backwards, whatever he could to decipher the babble at the end. The best he could come up with was “And after we reelect good old Kennedy to the United States Senate, we’re going to kick off the ‘96 campaign to reelect Bill Clinton…as unelectable as any of us are!”
GF, great to have you back…you too wvally. The best part of the Kennedy clip was the way the crowd roared after he finished with “and re-electum um buh cumbubund.”
Ruppersberger makes nearly two dozen Democrats not seeking reelection this year – nearly half of whom are running for higher office – in addition to 18 Republicans.
He joins several other veteran lawmakers retiring, including Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), Grace Napolitano (D-Calif.) and Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.), a member of Democratic leadership.
Republicans, for their part, are also losing several longtime, high-ranking members, including House Financial Services Committee Chair Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) and Appropriations Committee Chair Kay Granger (R-Texas).
The intrigue: Ruppersberger’s remark about limelight-seeking members reflects a widespread concern among his colleagues about the record number of House retirements this year.
Seeing the Ukraine debate reminds me I wasn’t here at the height of the Israel /Palestinian furor. Were we similarly divided on that conflict? Just getting the lay of the land.

Was it a Confederate statue? I hear that would double the penalty.
I am glad Janzam has introduced the illegal and immoral invasion of Crimea and subsequent annexation and rampant human rights abuses since then to the discussion here. The invasion is still not recognized by any Western power or the UN. As Mike Pompeo said in 2018, the US will “never recognize Russia’s annexation of Crimea” and that the US “will continue to insist that Ukraine’s territorial integrity be restored.”

Let me give you some praise to counter balance a little the criticisms that I have directed at you. You do have some admirable qualities:
1. Persistence 2. Confidence 3. Strong and clear convictions 4. Not afraid to make your points even at the risk of alienating others 5. Intelligence 6. Strong computer skills 7. An ability to not hold a grudge
There, I hope this list makes you feel better about yourself. We all like to be appreciated.
Any person or faction who gains too much power, without some kind of counter balance to correct and/or subdue that power, is subject to abuse. Dictatorships like Putin’s, or ones in Venezuela, Cuba, China and so on, will put anyone protesting or not aligned with their form of government, in prison, torture or intimidate them etc. This is the way of all ruthless regimes throughout history. Just look at how our own government is acting towards parents, school boards, j6 protesters, pastors – anyone who doesn’t agree with the dem government’s narrative.
This all leads into the posters here constantly ragged on as supporting Putin because they are against more Ukrainian funding. I don’t support more funding because I see Zelenskyy’s governance becoming more authoritarian as more criticism mounts among his military and even the citizenry, when it involves his involuntary conscription practices. Jailing and torturing a journalist who wrote critical pieces about Zelenskyy, banning the free press, churches, canceling free elections, disappearing officials in his government have all swirled around his time in office. However, I know of no independent entities or watch dog sources looking into how honestly or maniacally the Ukrainian government is really functioning. In fact most of the news we receive is sourced from the governments of Russia, Ukraine, or the US. Over a year ago observations were made that not even combat journalists are in the field, like in other wars, to neutrally report on what is happening on the ground. The U.S. is basically blindly giving money to a country in which we have no idea as to how or where it’s going. In the meantime, no one here is responding to the dire reports saying our own country is ill-prepared to defend itself, at a time when our national security is at risk of being breached. It makes me wonder whose side some people are really on – the peoples or giving away our sovereignty to others?
I just got back from Ukraine, where I was visiting some friends.
Everything we have heard about what’s happening in Ukraine is a lie.
The reality is darker, bleaker, and unequivocally hopeless. There is no such thing as Ukraine “winning” this war.
– By their estimates, they have lost over one million of their sons, fathers and husbands; an entire generation is gone. – Even in the Southwest, where the anti-Russian sentiment is long-standing, citizens are reluctant or straight-up scared to publicly criticize Zelensky; they will go to jail. – In every village and town, the streets, shops, and restaurants are mostly absent of men. – The few men who remain are terrified of leaving their homes for fear of being kidnapped into conscription. Some have resorted to begging friends to break their legs to avoid service. – Army search parties take place early in the morning, when men leave their homes to go to work. They ambush and kidnap them off the streets and within 3-4 hours they get listed in the army and taken away straight to the front lines with minimal or no training at all; it is “a death sentence.” – It’s getting worse every day. Where I was staying, a dentist had just been taken by security forces on his way to work, leaving behind two small children. Every day, 3-5 dead bodies keep arriving from the front lines. – Mothers and wives fight tooth and nail with the armed forces, beg and plead not to have their men taken away. They try bribing, which sometimes works, but most of the time they are met with physical violence and death threats. – The territory celebrated as having been “won back” from Russia has been reduced to rubble and is uninhabitable. Regardless, there is no one left to live there and displaced families will likely never return. – They see the way the war has been reported, at home and abroad. It’s a “joke” and “propaganda.” They say: “Look around: is this winning?”. – Worse, some have been hoaxed into believing that once Ukrainians forces are exhausted, American soldiers will come in to replace them and “win the war”.
There is no ambiguity in these people. The war was for nothing – a travesty. The outcome always was, and is, clear. The people are hopeless, utterly destroyed, and living in an unending nightmare.
They are pleading for an end, any end – most likely the same “peace” that could have been achieved two years ago. In their minds, they have already lost, for their sons, fathers and husbands are gone, and their country has been destroyed. There is no “victory” that can change that.
Make no mistake, they are angry with Putin. But they are also angry with Zelensky and the West. They have lost everything, worst of all, hope and faith, and cannot comprehend why Zelenky wishes to continue the current trajectory, the one of human devastation.
I didn’t witness the war; but what I saw was absolutely heart-breaking.
Shame on the people, regardless of their intentions, who have supported this war. And shame on the media for continuing to lie about it.
bitter you don’t know what you are talking about anymore. Morons and clowns are people who aren’t open about or seek the truth, but rather like to rattle around with the same nonsense in their heads.
My son’s best friend went to Ukraine last year with a group delivering supplies to the people. Many of his observations about the government, skirting officials as much as possible, line up to the personal story I posted. I’m disappointed in you, Bitter.

I was in college. They looked stunned that I did not tremble in fear. I lived. The fact that my suitcase was half open and very disheveled at the airport was probably a coincidence. F em.
I also went to Ukraine on that trip. Odessa was a beautiful city with very warm and engaging people. You are fine with that city being destroyed and those people being killed. You blame the person leading the defense rather than the person leading the killing and destruction.
One cannot literally be pro-Israel and not also be pro-Ukraine. If one truly believes all these things about Ukraine, they are also anti-Israel.
You can either be for Israel and Ukraine in their determination to survive regardless of the cost or you can be for Putin and Hamas both because fighting back in a war is bad.
Next, janzam would surely have to confirm that she wishes for the U.S. to withdraw entirely with NATO. There is too much of a risk of American soldiers and American money being used directly in fighting Russia, especially if Ukraine surrenders, as she demands.
Janzam would have to admit that she believes that the U.S. should not have a military alliance of defense with any other nation on Earth, regardless of reason. She has to believe that U.S. money and military power only be used if the U.S. is attacked directly, and perhaps she does not even believe that.
“– Worse, some have been hoaxed into believing that once Ukrainians forces are exhausted, American soldiers will come in to replace them and “win the war”.”
If Ukrainian forces are defeated because the U.S. abandoned them, that is indeed exactly what will happen, once Putin goes into a NATO country.
The U.S. will then be spending extremely more money fighting Putin then than it is spending now. Many Americans will wind up being killed fighting Putin under this circumstance, in comparison to none today.
Since jan cites Maria Mateiciuc and a Twitter post of hers as her source for why Ukraine is bad, I looked up Maria’s Twitter feed, since I have no idea who she is, and indeed, she is also very anti-Israel.
as most of the old posters know I had a business, office and employees in the Ukraine for years. Since the war started I try to stay in contact with many of them ti see what’s going on.
literally NONE of what was in that article has ever been told to me, and my friends don’t have a reason to lie. They would all fight until the end to keep Putin out of Kiev and other major cities. They hate what’s happened to their country because Putin invaded and has cost many of them their livelihood.
are they ear weary, yes. Do they want to give up fighting, no. They want to keep their country, and don’t want to submit, once again, to Russian influence.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Silence.

If we win it will be the will of the people, unlike Zelenskyy, where it’s the will of a presiding president who has cancelled elections and the voices of the people – banning newspapers and putting protesters in jail.

They ambush and kidnap them off the streets and within 3-4 hours they get listed in the army and taken away straight to the front lines with minimal or no training at all; it is “a death sentence.”
– It’s getting worse every day.

The only “peace” on the table 2 years ago was Ukraine’s surrender. You are embarrassing yourself, Jan.

It’s amazing that only Jan knows the truth about Ukraine and how many yachts Zelensky owns. Or doesn’t own. She is the one who posted about it.

bitter you don’t know what you are talking about anymore.

You have no credibility because you are in a cult. Trump thinking he can bring peace in 24 hours discredits anything he says on the issue.

Is any of this wrong jan?

If Ukrainian forces are defeated because the U.S. abandoned them, that is indeed exactly what will happen, once Putin goes into a NATO country.
The U.S. will then be spending extremely more money fighting Putin then than it is spending now. Many Americans will wind up being killed fighting Putin under this circumstance, in comparison to none today.

Since jan cites Maria Mateiciuc and a Twitter post of hers as her source for why Ukraine is bad, I looked up Maria’s Twitter feed, since I have no idea who she is, and indeed, she is also very anti-Israel.
She’s very pro-Trump though.

Maria is also obsessed with attacking obese people. Perhaps there is some connection.

as most of the old posters know I had a business, office and employees in the Ukraine for years.
They want to keep their country, and don’t want to submit, once again, to Russian influence.
that’s the reality on the ground.
