I feel like we lost a valued HHR member with the passing of Phil’s wife. Although she didn’t post, Phil made many references to her in his posts over many years so in a way we got to know her.
1. If Phil or anybody else who lost somebody this year wants to post the name of a charity for a donation in their honor, please do so.
2. NeverHaley2024! is a sign that Jason’s grasp of English is improving.
3. I watched the DeSantis-Newsome whatever it was. I thought DeSantis was better at answering questions. Newsome was better at yelling, “You’re lying.” Overall waste of time.
Liz Cheney is arguably the most “co-opted” person in the history of American politics.
Hilarious she doesn’t see the irony.
Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) is warning that the United States is “sleepwalking into dictatorship,” saying that if former President Trump is reelected, it could mean the end of the republic
…“People who say ‘well, if he’s elected, it’s not that dangerous because we have all of these checks and balances’ don’t fully understand the extent to which the Republicans in Congress today have been co-opted,” she added.
You have to be seriously delusional when you think 95% of Rs in Congress have been “co-opted” when you yourself are on TV 24/7 repeating Democrat and far left talking points.
I knew what both men were going to say months ago. DeSantis answered questions. Newsome did not.
Jason has not watched football since Tebow was replaced by Super Bowl winner Peyton Manning but claims he knows what goes on during games. I just watch the game.
“From all reports” must be Qu’chua for “I will opine on something I did not watch. Again.”
Newsome’s chances were not torpedoed. He probably improved his chance of replacing Biden as the nominees by being just as far left, giving Biden an “A,” and knowing his own name while not tripping.
I think Tgca was really Newsome. The criticism of DeSantis’ COVID policies and general DeSantis sucks attack was taken right from the sad little clown’s HHR posts.
You don’t watch “the game”. You watch people disrespecting the flag and the national anthem and our military. You watch endless hours of woke ads and messaging by spoiled entitled owners, players and coaches telling you how you should think and how you should act. You watch hundreds of woke messages in the end zones that have nothing to do with football.
Not to mention you watch a highly pussified version of football where the quarterback is now a “protected entity” that can’t be touched and where physical contact is frowned upon and where the word “Redskin” is somehow offensive to woke morons.
Pretty soon your “race relation” sessions will feature touch football between the Philadelphia Climate Change Combatants (Eagles being aggressive carnivores, bad example) against the Dallas Renewable Resource Icons (Cowboys used to have guns, bad image).
“Philadelphia City Council passed legislation to ban ski masks in some public spaces, a measure supporters say will increase public safety amid high violent crime, but opponents argue it will unfairly target people without proof of any wrongdoing.
The legislation passed on Thursday with a 13-2 vote, and now goes to Democratic Mayor Jim Kenney. A spokesperson said he would review the legislation and “looks forward to our ongoing work with City Council on the urgent matter of ensuring public safety.”
The measure would ban ski masks, or balaclavas, in public spaces like schools, recreation centers, parks, city-owned buildings and on public transportation. It defines the garment as a close-fitting covering over the whole head, with holes only for the eyes, nose, or mouth.”
“The Rs in the house will lose power. It’s ending badly for them on this route. Promises made, nothing delivered.”
I totally agree. The GOP as a whole has no clear vision, governing conviction, unifying message, or serious agenda. The Woke Commie Dems and Vichy GOP is destroying our country right before our eyes. There has always been corruption in politics… however never to this degree…the enforcers of the rule of law…the FBI and DOJ have been politicized and are the lawless ones and there is no justice or consequence. The media on both sides is corrupt… objectively and accountability are no more the safeguard of public opinion and national interest.
I am just thankful I live in a red state and my new son in law happens to be responsible in my state for protecting my Constitutional rights.
The Red State vs Blue State debate might have given RDS a needed shot in the arm for 2024 and a much longer shelf life politically into 2028 with his disembowelment of Newsom.
The ratings topped Trumps Hannity town halls by a couple million.
Text from my friend in Des Moines 5 minutes ago at a Trump event this morning…
I’m not kidding when I say my wedding reception had a bigger turnout. This was taken 20 minutes before the doors opened. 100 people? 125 tops. Maybe another 8 folks were walking up while I drove off. “Trump Fervor” ain’t what it was. Unless a ton of folks rolled in late.
Nikki Haley used this same room when her campaign was maybe three days old. Now Trump needs it? He used to fill arenas.
Zzzzzzzzzz Jason tells me what I watch but does actually watch the games with me. Maybe he has magic powers as an Inca priest to “see” things that are not there.
Jason misses concussions with spearing and targeting players’ knees to end their careers.
The debate, which Hannity dubbed the Great Red-Blue State Debate and was held without an audience, was in some respects an exercise in irrelevance, a matchup between a fading presidential candidate and a governor who is currently not running for anything. It seemed mainly designed to shore up DeSantis’s candidacy by allowing him to treat Fox viewers to a national takedown of a rising Democratic star.
I didn’t watch the 90 minute debate. However, the numerous video clips generated by this event were more than enough to give me a Cliff Note version of it. The comment above seems to be a worthy general critique of it, posted below a Newsweek article. My son, who watches social media sites, says the majority of comments there also matched
zardoz’s. Although my son dislikes Newsom he said his “slick” answers, lies, casual demeanor etc.attracted more positive attention than DeSantis’s struggle to expose him for the jerk he really is. Finally, many watching this governor match of wits wondered why it was even taking place. IMO, I don’t think this debate helped RDS as much as it did Newsom, by lifting the CA governor onto the national stage, preparing him for a run in 2028.
I just watched David Zere reporting outside an Iowa venue with a long line of people waiting to hear DJT’s speech. He is speaking in two places – Ankeny and Cedar Rapids – and JeffP’s earlier post just doesn’t ring true when compared to these live on-site pictures and reports.
Jan… I saw the pictures of the bar crowd it was about 200. Lines and venue size is nothing like 2016 or 2020 for a Des Moines area event. That was his point.
JeffP – The only problem with the idea of living in a red state is I don’t want to live in them for other reasons. I don’t like the weather in the South. I need 4 seasons of roughly equal lengths. I need to be within 2 hours of the Atlantic Ocean. I am only admitted to practice in PA and NJ so no more bar exams for me. New England, New York, Maryland meet the weather and Atlantic Ocean requirement but fail the bar admission requirement.
Maybe you’re right, Jeff. However, David Zere’s broadcast showed people lined up, in cold weather, waiting for the doors to open to hear Trump’s speech. I’m just posting a different observation than what your friend sent you. While I continue to support DJT, I’m not riveted on falsely trumpeting crowd sizes in order to demonstrate his popularity. What I see is what is there – period. Should his draw of people dwindle, then that’s what I will comment on.
Regarding my RDS’s posts, I still see a charisma gap in his interactions with people. He’s smart, knows his constitution but continues to have difficulty connecting with voters. How that washes out in the nominating process remains to be seen.
Jan is all in for Trump so she will criticize DeSantis for any reason. JeffP is all in for DeSantis so he will criticize Trump for any reason. Both can be true.
Both of them tossed away my primary vote with their positions on Ukraine so I will sit out the Jan/Jeff feud.
We love the east coast…my wife and I started life together in Cali when they used to elect Republican Governors and Senators… My non profit practice will keep me busy until I can’t physically or mentally do it anymore and state laws matter to stay out of the legal issues.
Michigan wasn’t too bad (except Detroit) when I grew up … but the rest of the Midwest is boring. The south and southwest is too hot in the summer for me too. It looks like four of my five adult children might be living out state eventually…I guess my wife and I might get a sampling.

People are saying Kevin McCarthy is trying to shrink the small R House majority as kind of revenge on the House for ousting him as Speaker. First Santos was expelled. McCarthy himself might go. He is also trying to get Goetz expelled. I agree with Tina’s opinion about how the Republican House is acting. Supposedly, even though the current Speaker did not want to expel Santos, he could have simply not brought up voting for his expulsion. Sadly there is nothing being done that is creative in getting an upper hand from the Dems.
Jason misses concussions with spearing and targeting players’ knees to end their careers”
You are right. I miss football when it was a contact sport and a running quarterback was fair game and there were no “medical tents” with woke protocols. Funny how that was ok to tackle a quarterback for decades but all of a sudden a quarterback is treated like a prima donna. I miss football when players, coaches and owners respected the flag, the national anthem and our military. I miss football when the color commentary was actually about the game, not about Taylor Swift or some other left wing activism. I miss football when you had the team name or logo in the end zone, not “it takes all of us”. I miss football when the ads were about beer and cars and potato chips, not woke calls for socialism and whatever the “cause” of the hours is, transgenderism, climate change, or BLM.
Actually, I don’t really miss it anymore. For awhile I still followed results and highlights, now I don’t even know what the records are unless I see it in context with something else I read. I know the Eagles are 10-1 and the Broncos won 6 straight because some family and friends still think I want to know.
An example of how politics is in the eye of the beholder. Vanity fair has an article out about how newsome “eviscerated” deSantis and ended his political career.
I’m overseas and haven’t seen it, but when I read the reviews here it seems to be the opposite. I believe the vanity fair article was probably a rescue article
DeSantis vs Newsome was simply a clashing of incompatible world views. The outcome of the debate was easily predictable.
DeSantis believes in protecting individual rights including those in society who are most vulnerable, like children and the elderly. DeSantis wants crime punished and law abiding members of society protected. DeSantis wants all people to have access to pursue the American Dream. DeSantis wants to see a society of growth, opportunity, and economic expansion. DeSantis wants the rule of law.
Newsome sees individuals as meaningless ants in a communist system. Children might as well be turned into exploited sex objects, and the elderly should be disposed of. And so if someone wants to kill her baby, go right ahead. If a teacher decides that a pupil should have been aborted, then do the next best thing and trick the kid into being sterilized by an evil surgeon. Newsome loves criminals and wants no punishments for anything, thereby making all the commoners vulnerable to the whims of evil people. Newsome wants the American Dream to only apply to elite members of the ruling class like himself. Everyone else should be serfs and peasants who are ultimately expendable. Newsome wants a society of poverty, where the peasants are all locked into their class unable to ever escape or advance. Newsome wants a banana republic.
I thought DeSantis wiped the floor with Newsome, this evil person. But people who are evil will have thought Newsome won the debate.
The country cannot continue like this. Its not compatible.
I think if he keeps doing this he is going to lose that Trump or DeSantis undecided voter…I kinda sorta get what he is trying to say … and he completely misses the big picture. His supporters cheer him getting a “BLM” leader support which was an exaggeration. It’s crazy. But Trump will get a pass anyway.
In Iowa today Trump praises BLM activist who endorsed him: “A very respected representative of Black Lives Matter … It’s a great honor”
I agree…the league has gone soft and the woke crap is disgusting…I only watch one NFL team and it’s primarily because of my son wants to come over and watch the game with me.
I gave up on NASCAR about ten years ago. Its when they fully removed the mask, basically admitting that it wasn’t really a sport, but just a form of entertainment. Like professional wresting, they had a script and worked hard to make sure the overall script was carried out. And so some of the best drivers had to sit at home and watch because they forced Danika Patrick on everyone, even though she couldn’t drive.
But every race, they would breathlessly report how great she did, finishing all the way up to 29th!
I am not opposed to a female driver, but I am opposed to affirmative action. If a woman is one of the best 40 drivers, then put her in a car. But if not, and you force a better driver to sit at home, then its not a sport.
Its ironic that Newsome said in his defense of mutilating children’s genitals that “these kids just want to survive” when destroying their genitals will permanently kill all potential future offspring, and very likely lead the same children to a path of suicide once they grow up and realize what was done to them.

Heh, sounds like Bitter is the one that doesn’t know what is going on in woke football.
There are no protests during the National Anthem any more. Every game I see has a huge American flag on the field held by dozens of people – often military vets or active duty – during the song. In games closest to Veterans Day, all teams had uniforms that honored the military. Players still get severe injuries like MCLand ACL tears as well as concussions. In a recent game, an Eagles tight end broke a bone in his forearm that. punctured through his skin. That’s more than one thing on your list that is untrue. GFY
You know as much about football as I know about what “really” goes on during games as I do about South American soccer or Indian cricket matches.
Jason posting about why he gave up watching football is as boring as people who want to tell everybody why they left the Church or quit smoking. Zzzzzzzz. Just go already. You’re not missed.
There have always been stories about athletes and entertainers. Taylor Swift is the highest singer on the planet and there is contact social media now. I’m only annoyed that she used to be very public about being an Eagles fan but now supports her boyfriend’s team and wears Chiefs gear. Plus, she could end up as the sister-in-law of my favorite player, Jason Kelce. No distractions on the way to getting back to the Super Bowl.

The ratings numbers are out and they contradict Team DeSantis’ narrative that people would be more interested in the primary process after Thanksgiving.
GOP Debate 1: 12.8 million
GOP Debate 2: 9.5 million
GOP Debate 3: 6.8 million
Newsom-DeSantis debate: 4.7 million, a 31% drop in viewership from the 3rd debate.

“Adults in the US do not understand what madness their children are being taught”
My discerning French born wife saw what was coming 30 years ago. Which is why we (primarily her) homeschooled our five children. As adults they are not Woke, not Commies and not Dems.
So in the end Bitter could not come up with ONE thing that i said that did not happen in woke football.
All he came up with was justifications of WHY they happen.
He is triggered that JeffP, DW and I no longer watch football so he feels compelled to defend the woke NFL multi-billion campaign to instill their version of “race relations” and group think socialism.
Actually, Bitter’s defense of the NFL that is proof that the woke NFL propaganda works. You would think Bitter would want the NFL to be about football. You would think he would rebel against the ideological brainwashing.
“Taylor Swift is the highest singer on the planet”
Zzzzzzz. so it ok that instead of talking about what is happening on the field, the woke NFL is about what she is doing in the VIP box.
I guess Bitter can’t wait to see “replays” of what Taylor Swift just ate or drank at the game.
As adults they are not Woke, not Commies and not Dems.
It was worth it.”
I feel the same way. My kids are social liberals but not woke Commies. Not home schooled but we did make a lot of sacrifices to send them to private schools. I guess it also helped they were more geared to engineering and sciences although there are plenty of woke professors in the sciences too.
. I’m only annoyed that she used to be very public about being an Eagles fan but now supports her boyfriend’s team and wears Chiefs gear.”
Brainwashing works, no doubt.
You would think the reaction from a real football fan would be “f–k Taylor Swift, I could care less about who she dates, I am here to watch football” but instead what bothers Bitter is what jersey she wears.
Zzzzzzzz Most fans, including me, think the Taylor Swift story is stupid. Most baseball fans did not care about Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMagio, either. As I said, Jason is not missed.
Zzzzzzzzz. The games take 3 hours. 30 seconds on Swift is irrelevant. I can’t eliminate it but we don’t get very many Chiefs games here. Maybe Jason should comment more on Argentinian soccer or Indian cricket.
Whenever Jason’s lies are refuted, he denies they were refuted. Typical and sad. He said there are protests of the National Anthem. When told there are not now, he doubles down and said they continue.
Never ending Taylor Swift BS? “Cameras cut to the pop star 17 times….
During the Week 4 primetime broadcast, NBC was all in on Swift-mania. Cameras cut to the pop star at least 17 times, and commentator Mike Tirico was sure to welcome the Swifties at the top of the game. In-show footage panned to Cornelia St., a little-known street in New York City that is the subject of one of Swift’s songs, as if it were as recognizable as Radio City Music Hall. Nobody does Easter eggs like Taylor Swift… except maybe the NFL.
Even before the game, NBC promoted the broadcast primarily through Swift’s pending appearance, with social media gameday materials featuring the singer’s signature friendship bracelets and the official promo set to the tune of her hit, “Welcome to New York” — which NBC then touted in a press release —garnered over eight million views. When tweeting out the promo, they captioned it, “Taylor Made for Sunday Night.” Check
The NFL has become pussified? Even the players admit it

In case Bitter was too lazy to read the link I posted.
Maybe he can explain what any of this has to do with football.
“Each club will again highlight its social justice work during a regular-season game in Weeks 15 and 16. On-field displays will include Inspire Change banners, goal post wraps, stencils, helmet decals and video board graphics.
“As we kick off another NFL season, the league’s commitment to social justice remains as present on field and in stadium across all 32 clubs as it is in communities nationwide,” Anna Isaacson, NFL senior vice president of social responsibility, told The Associated Press. “This year, we’re expanding efforts to include the Inspire Change Changemaker Award which will honor a local social justice changemaker from each club market.
“Initiatives like NFL Votes, dedicated grant-making to both national and local non-profits, the social justice helmet decal program, expanded programming and content on NFL owned and operated channels to highlight social justice efforts across the NFL family and, of course, dedicated Inspire Change weeks will also continue.”
The NFL will continue to feature “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” widely known as the Black National Anthem, as part of its entertainment lineup at major events.
The end zone stencils will be placed on field for all clubs in all home games, except when another cause is being recognized.
Inspire Change supports programs and initiatives that focus on education, economic advancement, criminal justice reform and police-community relations. The league made a 10-year, $250 million commitment to social justice as part of Inspire Change and announced in June that it had surpassed $244 million in funding in just five years.”
None of what Jason posted has anything to do with me or why I watch the games. Of course, Jason loves to post about golf – pretty ironic since that game (not a sport) sold its soul to terrorism sponsor Saudi Arabia.
Jason would have had me miss one of the greatest moments my family ever experienced together at the celebration. Jason Kelce became a legend with his speech. He dressed as a Mummer.
Funny how Bitter claims he doesn’t care that I no longer watch the woke NFL, but whines like a stuck pig and is very defensive whenever anyone is critical of the woke NFL.
He also “doesn’t care” that I would not vote for Nikki “you must feel my pain” Haley or Fat F–k Christie but whines like a stuck pig every time I say I won’t vote for Nikki “you must feel my pain” or Fat F–k Christie.
The NFL is not about football anymore and Nikki “you must feel my pain” Haley is not qualified to be President.
Is that what the PGA said after they lost their convenient little monopoly?
Zzzzzzz….. actually its called capitalism and of course “terrorism sponsor Saudi Arabia” is a huge investor in many areas of the US economy and a strategic partner of the US in the Middle East.
If you are going to boycott SA on golf, how about all these other investments in the US economy. Plus huge real estate holdings and other ventures.

Jason supports golf by watching it. Golf sold its soul by partnering with terrorism sponsors. By his standard, Jason supports terrorism. Just an unfortunate casualty of his own rules.
Zzzzzz…. this sounds like “jason said I shouldn’t go to Mass” or that “you shouldn’t drink woke Coke” or whatever it was.
I never said you shouldn’t watch football (or go to Mass or drink Coke). You have a strong tolerance for wokeness, each to his own. If you enjoy it you should watch. Same with voting, if you think Nikki “you must feel my pain” Haley is qualified to be President go for it.
I am just amused that you are so defensive when it is pointed out that the NFL is spending billions to try to enact a socialist agenda that has nothing to do with football.
But you could at least stop defending the indefensible. You could be critical of an organization like the NFL spending billions to implement an agenda that you shouldn’t be agreeing with.
Instead, you double down on inane justifications like “well, what about golf now being partly controlled by Saudi money” or “Taylor Swift was on for 30 seconds” (an outright lie).
Jason supports golf by watching it. Golf sold its soul by partnering with terrorism sponsors. By his standard, Jason supports terrorism. Just an unfortunate casualty of his own rules.”
BS. By that standard are you supporting terrorism each time you ride in a Uber, use Windows, or go to Costco. Saudis invest in those companies too.
Golf did not sell its soul, btw. It merely founded a competing league that destroyed the PGA monopoly, a healthy and welcome development.
Saudi money was involved? Zzzz….
Maybe Bitter is supporting “terrorism” by putting gas in his car?
The 5 million views clocked in for the DeSantis/Newsom debate was a respectable number, however not the one expected for such a hyped red state vs blue state confrontation. I received countless DeSantis reminders to watch it, as it was plugged more as an “event” than a mere debate. In fact the hype mirrored the Trump/Carlson debate, which received views in the hundreds of millions. Besides the difference in viewing numbers, Trump and Carlson didn’t have their ambitious wives running around on the sidelines and intermissions, seemingly getting over-involved and literally calling the shots. I actually think the aftertaste of this recent debate/event will showcase what an empty, but well-pressed suit Newsom really is, as well as how well-informed and uninteresting DeSantis is.
Phil, my most sincere condolences for the parting of your dear wife. She’s in a better place now. May the Lord give you the strength to carry on and honor her memory.
Tina, stop drinking limoncellos for breakfast. No House Republican has resigned, and the GOP margin is not down to three votes, as you falsely claimed. I guess that your confusion this time stems from the fact that Republican Congressman Bill Johnson of Ohio — not today, but before Thanksgiving — announced that he will not seek reelection in his safe GOP district (OH-06) in 2024 and will resign from Congress *in March 2024* to become the new president of Youngstown State University. Given the amount of lead time that he’s giving Gov. DeWine to schedule a soecial primary and special election, it is unlikely that the seat will renain vacant for very long after he resigns in March. I wouldn’t be surprised if a new Republican is elected there before a new Democrat is ekected in the safely Democratic NY-26, which will become vacantbin Februar due to Democrat Brian Higgins’s announced resignation.
And do we really know what dark money is funding the hunt for treasure on Oak Island? Several years to find buttons and bottles? What really goes on there?
This is why this political junkie will tune out if Trump is nominated…he constantly says BS like this. He gets a pass now from the media… until he is nominated. I can’t handle it on a daily basis.
“But I think if you had a real election and Jesus came down and God came down and said, ‘I’m going to be the scorekeeper here,’ I think we’d win there [in California], I think we’d win in Illinois, and I think we’d win in New York. These elections are rigged.”
A healthy and welcome development funded by Saudi’s terrorist supporting government? Keep digging, Jason:
Absolutely. Capitalism at its best. The PGA was a slimy monopoly and the new league provided welcome competition, that is why the PGA caved and decide to “merge”.
And I have no problem with Saudi money being part of the equation unless you want to outlaw Saudi money from all the billions they invest in other US companies and sectors.
But Bitter must feel guilty he supports “Saudi terrorism” every time he uses Windows?
But I think if you had a real election and Jesus came down and God came down and said, ‘I’m going to be the scorekeeper here,’ I think we’d win there [in California], I think we’d win in Illinois, and I think we’d win in New York. These elections are rigged.”
LOL
JeffP the TDS moron actually has a problem with this?
This is typical electioneering bluster used by every candidate in every election.
JeffP is triggered by Trump saying he can win in California?
I wonder what the poor devil will do when he is faced with real problems in life.
JeffP, I believe Trump can win the Republican nomination in CA and other blue states. It’s a stretch that he would get these denim blue states electoral votes in the GE.
Reviewing your friend’s observations yesterday about a low turnout in the two places Trump held events in Iowa: the first one was at Whiskey River Restaurant- a small but packed venue. The second one was at a Jr College with a 1500 person capacity. It too was a full house with lots of young adults in attendance. I don’t see why you relish diminishing attendance numbers or call supporter’s enthusiasm for their candidate “cultish.”
”It has been said that Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher — another warrior worthy of Roosevelt’s gladiatorial arena — carried around a poem written by Charles Mackay, the nineteenth century Scottish writer perhaps best known for his book, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds. In that poem, Mackay asks:
You have no enemies, you say?
Alas! my friend, the boast is poor;
He who has mingled in the fray
Of duty, that the brave endure,
Must have made foes! If you have none,
Small is the work that you have done.
You’ve hit no traitor on the hip,
You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip,
You’ve never turned the wrong to right,
You’ve been a coward in the fight.
It seems to me that no U.S. presidential candidate has ever had more skin in the game than Donald Trump. As the unaccountable Deep State’s true enemy, he deserves all Americans’ support.”
I think this American Thinker piece sums up why DJT holds people’s attention and secures their support. Like a crude “Braveheart” character he symbolizes a tenacious trait to win no matter how bloodied or persecuted he becomes. Particularly in this day and age of injustices to those who dissent, tyranny by the elite, unpopular policies foisted onto people, a growing police state, and no confidence in fair and free elections being held, Trump’s cavalier way of fighting the leftist assault is a refreshing change from just being a polite opposition contender.
Bitter said US Golf “sold its soul” to a country that “sponsors terrorism”
Question for Bitter. Have all these US companies “sold their souls” or was it just golf.
“Over the past decade, U.S. defense contractors were approved to sell up to $139 billion in equipment and services to Saudi Arabia, according to the Congressional Research Service”
“Private engineering company Bechtel is working on the Riyadh metro and is helping to manage the $11 billion project to expand Jubail Industrial City, according to its website.”
The purchases bring the market value of the sovereign wealth fund’s investment portfolio to about $40.8bn at the end of the second quarter
“A US Securities and Exchange Commission filing showed that the fund bought 6.3 million shares in Starbucks, 4.7 million shares in Zoom and 1.8 million shares in Microsoft”
Other shares bought by the fund included Alphabet, the parent company of Google, Adobe Systems and the bank JP Morgan
Ordinary Saudi consumers already take advantage of goods and services from U.S. companies.
Starbucks had 161 stores in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2016, according to SEC filings. A Domino’s Pizza franchise opened in Riyadh in 2012. And Pepsi owns a snack-food division, called Saudi Snack Foods Company Limited, according to a an SEC filing, to name just a few.
And AMC Entertainment is planning an expansion of up to 30 to 40 new theaters in the next three to five years and 50 to 100 by 2030 or sooner, according to CNBC.”
“GE said it signed $15 billion in deals with Saudi Arabia, involving almost $7 billion of goods and services from the company including power generation, mining and health care. GE said it has supplied technology to Saudi Arabia for 80 years, including “equipment for its first oil refinery, and GE machines generate more than half of its electricity and millions of gallons of clean water each year.”
Hi Jan…Context….I watched the clip…I show them sometimes to my wife for a good laugh…
Trump was making the point that even California, Illinois, and New York are rigged and that he would win if it wasn’t. That is not “political bluster” it is misleading… bordering on delusional.
Any fair minded individual would interpret what he said that way.
Why use cultish… there is no other way to describe the behavior. Problem is when people are codependent in following their “leader” like an abused spouse they are blinded to reality.
Why do I post regularly about Trump…because of the constant lies you were propagating from team Trump. You have slowed down considerably recently. Don’t worry my TDS ways won’t be posting much longer regarding Trump so you won’t have to defend yourself or fearless leader and his crowd size much longer. As I have said before it’s not even a debate who the better candidate is.
My friends point was only referring to the Des Moines area event…had to do with comparing the venue size and vibe of the crowd in that area compared to 2016,2020. Nothing more or less. I can’t believe you brought it up again.
I live in CA, and know for a fact this state has one of the most corrupt election processes of all 50, along with one of the slimiest, do-nothing-but-rip-people-off governors.
Using your employment’s lingo, such as cultish, co-dependent, abused wife syndrome etc., is doing a disservice to the actual behaviors you are supposed to professionally address. It’s conflating political choices people make with diseased or addictive behavior. Actually, you seem to prefer insulting rival opinions rather than honestly and openly discussing them. Your own failure to see how DeSantis’s campaign is not only imploding from within his own organization, but dissolving with so many leaving or being fired. That’s a lie of omission, on your part, while you call out others as lying by simply citing their observations about a candidate you are constantly, obsessively dissing. You seem not only frustrated the candidate you believe in is sinking (not admitting it), but desperate to throw garbage on those you perceive as not seeing RDS as you do.

There is one relevant point that always seems to be missing when discussing the revolving door of Ron’s super pacs/donors. These are not the cause of Ron’s failure. It is Ron himself that is the problem. Be it his persona, demeanor, actions, rhetoric, perspective and the such, he comes across as a disingenuous, egocentric impostor that lacks the skill sets, knowledge and perspective to successfully lead this country through the domestic and international crises we now face. The bottom line is that the majority of the electorate (MAGA) are fully aware of the aforementioned and any campaign strategy or amount of money cannot correct that. In layman’s terms, Ron sort of poisoned his own well and his continued finger pointing at everyone else for his own failure demonstrates a level of immaturity and lack of accountability.

From the beginning I developed the following equation: Jeb! + Cruz = DeSantis. This equation has been proven again and again. Ron/Nikki are waiting for Trump to be convicted in one of the “lawfare” trials…it’s the only hope they have to recharge their campaigns. Notice neither one ever mentions the “weaponization of government used against a political opponent” issue. They are toast!
My professional abilities help others in many aspects of life. I call it like I see it. That is not a disservice to anyone.
Mixing your professional abilities, highlighting them like some kind of absolute truth, with political assessments of others, is disingenuous and (pun not intended) sanctimonious.

” It is up to this generation to heed the cry of peoples, the young and children, and to lay the foundations of a new multilateralism. Why not begin precisely from our common home? Climate change signals the need for political change.

Trump’s cavalier way of fighting the leftist assault is a refreshing change from just being a polite opposition contender.”
Actually, compared to the Golden Calf, Trump does very little to ‘fight the left assault’.
Trump is a crony capitalist and is not a conservative by any measure, so “taking on the left” is not really his cup of tea.
If you want someone who “takes on the left” vote for the Golden Calf, who has spent his whole time as FL governor doing exactly that. With success i might ad.
To be fair, Trump was a Democrat in 1988. And 1989. And 1990………”
And he was still funding Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton and the DNCC as late at 2010, so it is easy to believe he was not a “Bush Republican’;
I am getting tired of posting about Trump…I think RDS has the momentum in Iowa and might just win.”
Good, because your TDS makes you look like an ass.
Your M.O. of posting anything against Trump regurgitated from social media morons waters down any legitimate reasons on why he shouldn’t be the nominee.
Trump is not the best candidate to fight the “deep state’ whatever that means. He is not the best candidate to fight “wokism’. He is not the best candidate to fight ‘leftism. And since he is not even close to being a conservative, he is not the best candidate to advance ‘conservative values”.
The Golden Calf is much better on all those categories.
Good point…Trump and the Golden Calf are not running for the same reasons….
“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday asked whether former President Trump was seeking a second term in the White House to fulfill his personal retribution against his perceived enemies or to help improve the future of everyday Americans.
When asked on on NBC’s “Meet the Press” about Trump campaigning on promises to get back at his enemies, DeSantis challenged the former president with a single question: “Why are you running?”
“If he’s running for personal retribution, that is not going to lead to what we need as a country,” the governor said. “You got to be running for the American people and their issues, not about your own personal issues. And that is a distinction between us. I am focused on the folks. I am focused on what they want to see done for this country in a positive direction. I’m the vessel, but ultimately, it’s not about me.”
If you want someone who “takes on the left” vote for the Golden Calf, who has spent his whole time as FL governor doing exactly that. With success i might ad.
If it were not for the help and endorsements by his rival there would be no Governor DeSantis, rather it would be Governor Putnam or an unworthy Governor Gilium. The Golden Calf also copied the verve and style of his rival, both as governor and currently as a presidential candidate. And at this time, most Floridians would not even support the Golden Calf in that state, with someone else from that state vying to be the R nominee. But, like a comment posted earlier, RDS based a successful campaign run on his rival and former mentor being shafted by bogus indictments, in which he chose to sit on the sidelines, fingers crossed, and not defend. That lack of courage, to speak up against prosecutorial injustice, lost RDS a lot of respect.
” the governor said. “You got to be running for the American people and their issues, not about your own personal issues. And that is a distinction between us. I am focused on the folks. I am focused on what they want to see done for this country in a positive direction. I’m the vessel, but ultimately, it’s not about me.”
That whole RDS self-endorsement actually infuriates me as an off-putting way to sling mud at Trump, while presenting himself as a Mr. Clean kind of guy. The distinction between RDS and Trump is that the latter has a record of people-centered policies, surrounded by peace and prosperity. The reasons he’s running, given in speech after speech, are focused on protecting the Constitutional rights of people, continuing an agenda already in progress during his first term. Of course Trump has issues with how both the Dems and republicans obstructed not only the policies he wanted enacted, but made his presidency He** by all the faux investigations, impeachments and lies. However, I think getting through all these unnecessary political skirmishes will strengthen his resolve to out maneuver the Administrate State, creating a more savvy and productive presidency.
Trump did nothing to drain the swamp as President but he will if given another chance according to Jan. In other new, Jan believes that Lucy will NOT pull away the football the next time.
Florida dems announce ONLY Genocide Joe will be option on the primary ballot. No write in allowed lol
What a trash party the DNC has become.
The Florida Democratic Executive Committee has announced that in the upcoming primary elections, the ballot will singularly feature the name of Joe Biden, effectively excluding any potential challengers within the party.
If Trump is the nominee, I expect he will lose and it will not be due to Dem fraud. I also expect that Jan and Tina will support him as the nominee in 2028.
” Trump did nothing to drain the swamp as President”
Like the first step, in AA’s 12-step program, one first has to admit there is a problem. Trump, during his first term exposed the administrative, bureaucratic state and all its problems. He had Schedule F ready to be implemented during his 2nd term, which would have changed much of the bureaucratic make-up, and effectively started to “drain the swamp.”
If it were not for the help and endorsements by his rival there would be no Governor DeSantis,”
I give Trump credit for helping the Golden Calf become governor.
The Golden Calf is a real conservative while Trump was a liberal Dem most of his life until he decided it was more opportune to pretend he was a Republican.
The Golden Calf is a much better choice if you want a conservative President with conservative values.
Jason – Does Saudi Arabia sponsor terrorism? Yes or no?”
Directly no. I don’t terrorism is something Saudi Arabia officially sponsors like Iran does. Saudi Arabia is a strategic ally of the United States and in fact is engaged in normalization of relations with Israel.
Are there radical groups in Saudi Arabia responsible for terrorism. Yes. Are there groups that get money from Saudi Arabia that engage in terrorism, yes, but you can say the same about the US aid to Gaza which goes to Hamas.
in any case the answer is no.
Now you can answer my questions?
If golf “sold its soul” did all these companies “sell their souls”. Yes or no?
And if I am supporting terrorism by watching golf, are you supporting terrorism by using Microsoft products? Yes or no.

That’s exactly what Trump did at the beginning of his first term. However, you, Bitter, lead by invectives, complaining about what couldn’t be done quickly, rather than giving credit for what he did accomplish. There are pages and pages of positive changes that happened under his watch. But, let’s instead talk about a structural problem – the swamp – that took decades to build up where it is today, to facetiously chide Trump about.
Hey, why hasn’t Zelensky pushed the Russians out of his country IMMEDIATELY, like he said he would do, if he’s such a great leader?
I’m not going to respond to the stupid cult label. However, my husband is doing great- better than expected – 6 months from now we’re know how successful his surgery .was
You are comparing Trump dealing with bureaucrats and Zelensky dealing with a military invasion? You also oppose the military aide required by Ukraine. Your post might seal the clown label for you.
I repeatedly said Trump was a good President. You want Trump to protect you and fight for you. I want to be left alone. You view Trump as a savior. I view him as a RINO who is better than the Dems.
” You are comparing Trump dealing with bureaucrats and Zelensky dealing with a military invasion?”
LOL for giving Zelensky’s failures, of irresponsibly destroying his people and country, a pass, while knocking the leader of a much larger country for not immediately remediating the cronyism and corruption embedded for decades in just 4 years.
Putin invades Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of troops. He bombs and shells hundreds of Ukrainian cities, destroying residences, schools, hospitals, train station and infrastructure. He displaces over 10 million people. He kills, exiles, rapes and tortures hundreds of thousands.
Yet Janzam says Zelensky “irresponsibly destroys his people and country”.
Janzam is one sick individual. I don’t think there is a shrink in the country that can help someone that sick.

Supposedly, even though the current Speaker did not want to expel Santos, he could have simply not brought up voting for his expulsion.

I gave up on football even longer ago.

GFY

I’m only annoyed that she used to be very public about being an Eagles fan but now supports her boyfriend’s team and wears Chiefs gear. Plus, she could end up as the sister-in-law of my favorite player, Jason Kelce. No distractions on the way to getting back to the Super Bowl.

Alas! my friend, the boast is poor;

He had Schedule F ready to be implemented during his 2nd term, which would have changed much of the bureaucratic make-up, and effectively started to “drain the swamp.”

All can be true.

Yes or no.

Difficult to drain the swamp in one term. Especially when one is sabotaged within by his own pastry (see Russian hoax/accept comedy’s work etc)
It will take a r president. And congress fully committed to the swamp.

” Leaders start leading immediately.”

You are comparing Trump dealing with bureaucrats and Zelensky dealing with a military invasion? You also oppose the military aide required by Ukraine. Your post might seal the clown label for you.

I repeatedly said Trump was a good President. You want Trump to protect you and fight for you. I want to be left alone. You view Trump as a savior. I view him as a RINO who is better than the Dems.

LOL for giving Zelensky’s failures, of irresponsibly destroying his people and country, a pass, while knocking the leader of a much larger country for not immediately remediating the cronyism and corruption embedded for decades in just 4 years.

Hello?
HOw is Zelensky destroying his people and his country if the Russians are the ones who invaded and are destroying Ukraine.
Zelensky is a Ukrainian hero who has against all odds managed to keep the Russians from annexing his country.
You are idiotic clown and shameless apologist for Putin’s war crimes.

And if you want someone to ‘remedy cronyism” you don’t want the ultimate crony capitalist like Trump, you want a real reformer like the Golden Calf.
Trump will not drain the swamp, he is a product of the swamp. That is why he did nothing to drain it in 4 years.
Trump had a lot of successes. Taxes, SCOTUS judges, deregulation, energy independence, war against ISIS.
Draining the swamp was not one of them, and the idea that he would do better in a second term is wishful thinking.
If you want to drain the swamp, support the Golden Calf, who is actually a conservative, not an opportunist.
