Most felt DeSantis’s image and status, as a two term governor, would have only grown and helped establish a more solid bid for the presidency in 2028. Public comments following these reads mirrored those thoughts. As it is, by prematurely venturing into the current POTUS contest, he not only demonstrated his lack of campaign instincts and skill sets, but also alienated constituents in FL and created an antagonistic relationship with Trump and a large swath of his followers who RDS had to count on as a voting base for himself.
In the meantime two presidential drop-outs have endorsed Trump. Also, last night an underreported fundraiser occurred at Mar-a-Largo hosting a thousand guests, some who used to support RDS and now are looking more at DJT to invest in as their candidate of choice.

Ok. I am tired of this.
I have been very supportive of Bitter on this blog project, but I think the power has gone to his head and he wants to decide what links are “acceptable” and which are not a la Twitter before Elon Musk.

And, the national poll numbers are what they are, which are not promising so far. I personally don’t care, one way or another, if DeSantis goes out or stays in. However, I do disagree with Trump’s ads taunting him to suspend his campaign, just as much as I dislike RDS calling Trump “senile,” a claim far from the truth, being Trump outstrips most people in his energetic campaigning.

JeffP, your criticism of Trump’s initial handling of the COVID crisis is so unfounded and unjust. No one knew what the virus was, nor how to deal with it – even RDS fumbled the ball at the get go. The media, the Dems injected fear in everyone, mocked any kind of early, inexpensive treatments, and demanded all kinds of tyrannical guidance to be followed. Trump met the demands of various state governors in supplying equip, beds etc., did not call for any federal mandates, established needed travel bans, and worked on immediately supplying vaccines. Trump failed because he sucks as a leader and joined the global community panic. He still believes he saved millions of lives. The he didn’t know what Covid was is BS. I followed the death rate from Italy and France from the very beginning. My wife and I were watching closely for personal reasons. The death rate never got to the point in which to enact the draconian measures taken. Sweden realized this. Any economic comeback was from closing down the country to begin with and has nothing to do with the printing of money and inflation we have experienced since early 2021.

Trump did not join the global panic. If he had he would have erected federal mandates dealing with lock downs. Instead he left it up to individual governors to establish their own guidance. In fact, it was his wish to discard the closure guidance by Easter of 2020. However, there was too much push back to do this, as well as too little evidence backing such a move. The only remarkable thing about Sweden is that it served as an “outlier” of what most countries imposed on their people, and were heavily criticized and their results “disputed” by other scientists and media around the world.

And yes, Biden IS solely responsible for the inflation and all the other economic disasters. Under Trump’s leadership we had low inflation, low inflation rates, low taxes, energy independence, low unemployment including for minorities, high economic growth, low interest rates, high workforce participation.
I dont support Trump for the nomination. But lying about his record is not going to help any other candidate. His supporters want the same results that Trump accomplished, lying about him is not going to get their votes.

Phizer’s vaccine had a 95% effectiveness in its paper and Moderna was 90% effective. I’d say those were much better than the average flu shot that is 50% effective.
The problem arose when the FDA started using mouse data for evaluation of the booster shots, and now we have only 3% of Americans getting the most current booster as a reflection of that process.

Regarding the election outcome. I told my wife they were going to steal the election in April of 2020 with mail in ballots. That is exactly what happened. They mailed a ballot to everyone, bent the law for Covid and then funded a ballot harvest operation that left no stone unturned. Allowed any signature. The GOP and Trump sat by and let it happen until it was too late. Convince me otherwise.

The whole election outcome was predictable with mail in ballots mailed to freaking everyone in some states. It was disgusting to me Trump lost this way. Yes his campaign and Rona were unprepared. The Dems have become pros at ballot harvesting and drop boxes made it easy. Signatures, laws and chain of custody were excused because of Covid.

I have always admired Dr. Ben Carson for his ability to overcome less-than-wonderful circumstances in his early life, and for his unparalleled successes as a neurosurgeon. When he ran for president in 2016 I supported him. The more I have learned about the man and his wife the more amazing they have become, especially in their focus on creating better education opportunities for all children. Today in Iowa he introduced Trump, giving his full endorsement of him. His endorsement speech was heartwarming.
