Sidney Powell, like so many Trump allies, is being brought up on bogus charges, have had their reputations ruined, bled dry financially, and some posters here cheer their plight because it might be another trip-wire in taking out Trump!

CNN announced that Sydney Powell “flipped” without mentioning all felony charges were dropped and she only pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges related to unauthorized attempt to copy election data in one county.
The headline should be ‘ALL FELONY CHARGES AGAINST SIDNEY POWELL DROPPED”. And the reason they were dropped was not that the DA thought she couldn’t get a guilty verdict, it was because she knew the bogus charges would be thrown out on appeal and possibly she would be reprimanded.

I don’t know what to do about Halloween. The Amish don’t trick or treat and my wife doesn’t want leftover Halloween candy around lest she be tempted to eat it. One thing I would like to discuss/point out is the Ukraine. It seems most here are pretty black or white on it, but I can tell you from personal experience, Ukraine is about as gray as it gets.
Putin can not be allowed to win the war there. Period.
Ukraine is more corrupt than most African countries, and money is being funneled into pockets at an alarming rate.
As Bitter would say…both can be true.
Given that, we should be supporting the effort for the Ukraine to win the war, but we should be doing a better job of monitoring how “aid” is classified, and how its distributed. There should be NO CASH involved at all. Military equipment, training, support, and that needs to have more transparency. That goes for not just US aid, but also that from NATO and other countries. I bet most would be shocked to know that this military “aid” and equipment is actually being purchased via money being sent to the Ukraine. And that is being marked up four and five times along the way.
So, in conclusion, like most things in life, its not as cut and dry as it seems. Continue the military support the fight, continue supplying the materials to fight (which has an added benefit to the US economy because those weapons will need to be replaced, and they are all manufactured here), continue funding humanitarian aid in the country, but demand more transparency. That’s a compromise that works, and would make a lot more people comfortable with the situation.

I agree that Ukraine is a gray area, with reasons to support and not support further aid to this war. The most compelling, for me, to continue support, is that Russia was the aggressor in this incursion. And, reasons for me to scale back support is the enormous amount of corruption, human trafficking, and suspicious bio labs that are embedded in the Ukrainian government, accompanied by little oversight and no serious audit of all the armaments given over to Ukraine. Supposedly it will take the US 7 years to replenish the missiles taken from our own reserve supplies. Although restocking this depletion is an economical boost, it nonetheless is also creating a vulnerability in our ability to have a robust defense in times of such global volatility. Then there is the matter of our growing debt crisis, accompanied by increasing interest rates on that debt, which some say is approaching trillion dollars a year just to service that debt. The Treasury, for some reason, is dragging their feet, in giving their annual report detailing the real deficit number – perhaps trying to configure a number that doesn’t blow people out. Basically, as I’ve written in other posts, our country has an abundance of problems of it’s own that seem to be ignored in DC’s clamor to provide almost 50% of all aid going to Ukraine.

Matthew Boyle of Breitbart has been following the House speakership tussle. Interestingly, he revealed a number of those voting “No” on Jordan are members of the Appropriations Committee – the Establishment money people – including the Chairman of this committee. Their concerns revolve around spending cuts, something anathema to their creed of more spending. Differentiating those against Jordan shines a brighter light on the real intentions of these politicians, and who they are really legislating for – the people or themselves.
Also, another quirky side to this story, is that the 8 who are taking major heat for ousting McCarthy from the speakership, are offering up themselves to be sanctioned, censored and suspended from the caucus in order to satisfy holdouts need to punish this group in exchange for their vote for Jordan.

Democrats with their anything-goes lawfare attorney, Mark Elias, weakened election laws (especially in swing states) months before the election, making it far easier to count fraudulent ballots (lax signature verification, late ballots counted, ballot harvesting etc.). Then there was Zuckerburg’s half a billion injection of dollars in Democrat precincts creating zillions of drop boxes without any chain of custody protections, with his monies going solely to democrat hires in polling places, heavily distorting having a balanced and fair processing of ballots in polling centers.

Tom Emmer voted to certify the 2020 election so he probably starts as my first choice. He also seems to be the early frontrunner. My guess is, though, the Trump worshippers in the House and that slimy POS Steve Bannon will do all they can to block Emmer precisely because he didn’t subscribe to the stupid stolen election fantasies.
So long as the person chosen is a relatively sane Republican who isn’t too closely associated with Trump, that person will be fine. However, whoever finally gets to be Speaker will only be renting the position because Republicans are going to lose the chamber next year with Trump, likely to be a convicted felon by then, as the nominee.

Emmer is not a bad choice. Neither is Byron Donalds btw. But I have the same reservations about him that I had about Jordan, he cannot unite the caucus, and that is the role of Speaker. Donalds should have a great future in the party, he is the type of person the party needs to survive, but I think it is not his time yet.
If Emmer cannot get elected, nobody can. If the hostage takers want to just sabotage everyone they don’t agree with, might as well vote for Jeffries for speaker and turn the Congress into an even bigger circus.

Emmer is a lousy choice. He has backed all the bad McCarthy spending bills. He will do nothing as speaker but vote and back the democrats. After the Clinton crimes, Russia Gate, the “insurrection” etc…I am immune to getting all worked up about it emotionally I just want to win and support candidates that will address the corruption in the justice system. One of reasons I am pissed at Trump is he could have done more with Article 2 authority to address what 8 years of Obama did to the DOJ. Hopefully RDS will win and use that authority.

John Solomon has predicted that none of the three showing interest in the speakership can garner enough votes- certainly not Emmer unless the Dems cast votes his way. Solomon says it’s possible someone outside the R caucus, such as Lee Zeldin, might be able to make the cut. Otherwise, Solomon projects McCarthy will regain the speakership.

BREAKING: The Texas Secretary of State has released bombshell findings from the 2022 midterm election audit of Harris County
The report reveals Harris County had 9,000 more voters in the registration system than what was reported to the state.
Almost 3,600 mail-in ballots were sent to voters but not reported to the state.
27% of polling locations failed to return or properly complete necessary paperwork.
Keep in mind that the critical races in Harris County were separated by a few thousand or only a few hundred votes in many.
A lot more discrepancies were found, this is more than enough for a judge to force an election redo.
