On Texas AG… My daughter works in a very conservative red state AG office as some of you might remember. She is the legislative and policy liaison to the other red states AG offices in working together in challenging the Federal government. She said in no uncertain terms for months that Texas is one of the worst in fighting against the Biden administration. I will ask her about Paxton tomorrow at our monthly breakfast. I pushed back on her about Paxtons conservatives credentials a few months ago. She rolled her eyes…LOL…and refused to comment.
Got a text reply from her…. “He’s been shrouded in shady stuff for years. He settled a lawsuit last fall i think for 3.5 million. I’ve heard he isn’t the most savory person.”
“The NY Times says just 2% – 13% of people who use drugs or surgery to change genders regret it, but those numbers are wrong. In truth, regret is rising as young adults grieve their sterility & lack of sexual function. Why are the media attacking survivors of medical malpractice?”
San Francisco has spun out of control. Major businesses are fleeing. Its population is falling as residents leave.
“Let’s just tell the truth. We have lost control of many of our public spaces. When drug dealers sell their deadly doses of Fentanyl in broad daylight next to our City Hall – we’ve lost control of our public spaces. When we can’t even keep order in UN Plaza for half an hour with the Mayor’s security detail present, we’ve lost control of our public spaces. (I think the violent protester who threw a brick at a teenager has lost her mind, but that’s another topic).
San Francisco has the resources to close these drug supermarkets – now. What we lack is the focus, the coordination, and a commitment to absolute accountability. Instead, we fight each other to shift blame. That’s a losing game, since we are all to blame while innocent San Franciscans are being victimized by brazen drug cartels and thousands die of drug overdoses.
In a break with tradition, I shared my Question and reasoning with the Mayor before the meeting so she could have time to prepare. I thought my question, which was also a request, was perfectly reasonable. I asked her to take the same approach to this emergency she took to Covid-19; stand up an emergency operations center so all resources can be coordinated, so we can track our progress, and so we can demand accountability.
While I was gratified she pledged to work with us, I was surprised she deflected the main question – saying instead we were trying to “micro-manage” the situation.
What I am trying to do is to get her to manage the situation, because the Board does not control the police force, she does. We don’t direct the Health Department, she does. We don’t have the power to declare an emergency and then act on it, she does.”
Coronado is a wonderful place to visit. It does not even feel like it is in California. It is a military town and staunchly Republican. It is also one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.
There usually are two or three aircraft carriers docked at the base in Coronado, and the U.S. Midway is now a museum across the bay — very interesting to visit. Across the bay is also the U.S. Marine Recruit Depot where Marines from the western half of the U.S. are trained.
It is very different from the rest of California. Is it really going to hurt you to stay with your family a few days in Coronado?
I agree and I have posted the link and explained the steps to set up an account, login and post a couple of times. Jason doesn’t seem to want to pursue the effort yet. He’ll eventually show up. Hedgehog Report is about to go under and we’re the only lifeboat.
BTW, “We’ve Never Been Licked” is a movie about Texas A&M which was released in 1943.
The school was once an all male military school which, during World War II, graduated more
military officers than West Point and the Naval Academy combined.
There was a time when all incoming freshmen were required to watch the movie. Now, most unfortunately, Texas A&M has gone woke.
The deal appears suspect. Done over a holiday weekend. Does it clawback any funds given tot he fib? McCarthy is wobbling. He promised a realest of the j6 videos and after one showing by Tucker, no more. Very disappointing.
I agree with you, Tina. Even though both sides have complaints about the deal, it doesn’t mean that the deal is then a fair one. One of the sticking points was not to have the deal run past the 2024 election, which I believe it does. Any type of leverage
the House republicans may have, in their 2-year window of having purse-string power, is lost if the debt ceiling is stretched out that far.
I also have real concerns about DeSantis, despite his glowing promises to set the country on a better path. Basically, the people throwing money at his campaign – billionaires and establishment republicans – seems unhealthy as to what kind of favors or price tags he will have to pay back should he win.
The RNC doesn’t care about voter fraud, election integrity or other metrics inside the election system. The RNC ambivalence is directly because the two wings of the UniParty operate on this premise. The ideology of the Democrats drives their donor activity (see Zuckerberg), whereas the donors of the Republicans drive the ideology.
DeSantis cannot win the nomination on issues of economic policy. It is the economic policy that impacts the Billionaire Wall Street donors and multinationals. The donors are paying for an economic control outcome. That is why we are seeing such an emphasis on cultural issues from the Sea Island strategy, as displayed in the policy emphasis of Ron DeSantis.
Trump allowed the election to be rigged so we would know that there was fraud. Trump allowed the vaccines and death and keeps supporting them so we would know how bad the pharma industry is and he would’ve been too weak to stop a nationwide lock down. Trump endorsed bad people so…
Tina, supposedly John Solomon now has possession of that J6 footage, and is going over it with his team now. He says he will release it after it has been reviewed, saying already he has found info that will be important in giving a clearer picture of that day.
We will see. I hope this is true. My concerns are why was staffing so low; why did Piglosi refuse extra security/national guard; and who planted the pipe bombs at the Rnc/dnc hqs. The pipe bombs are a big concern. I think it was all inside stuff.
I like Tracy, but the governors that ran the states also gave lockdown orders or promoted the vax,
Rds said if you take the vax act immune.
Going after trump about Covid is not a winner, It’s not a winner because Rds has lockdowns and even went further than the guidelines (as wrong as they were) and most importantly, folks are done with Covid.
My feeling is DeSantis should ignore Trump. Instead, DeSantis message should focus on himself; a relatively young person seeking the presidency with an impressive background, and who has been a solid governor of Florida. The message should be the nation needs new, younger leadership.
Trump is approaching 80 years of age. After watching Biden ‘s rambling incoherence, I don’t think the nation wants another dinosaur president.

Calling on people to rise up to destroy their political enemies or their fellow Americans with differing viewpoints is completely unacceptable and appalling behavior of a traitor to America. Again Trump is a traitor on this Memorial Day.
It will take about a month or so to understand what kind of impact RDS announcement has. The first poll in FL after announcing shifted significantly back to RDS from DJT.
