I remember when Bush won the chorus was that (D) was done for a generation or more.
When Obama was elected the chorus was that the GOP was done.
When Trump won and then controlled all three chambers on 2024 and with reinstating and future census, (D) was again done.

The way I see it last time Trump lost congress, the economy needed stimmy since we have a fake ponzi economy.
Trump made a deal w Pelosi for covid bailout in which Pelosi blackmailed Trump: he got the stimmy in exchange for mail in voting fraud for Boden.

I did a deep dive into Ohio since I grew up there. But I’m calculating that Dems are likely to win 8 of the 15 House races. This is partly due to gerrymandering and splitting urban areas like Dayton and spreading out the Democrats.

Democrats have a choice – Try to find anything they agree with Trump about to improve the country OR spend 2 years trying to impeach Trump, subpoena everybody they don’t like, and make mediocre male athletes into champion “female” middle school players.
The Dems got their biggest dream last night. They also lost their biggest issue. Running against Trump might work in 2028 but not in 2030 or beyond.

Paxton lost by an astounding 13 pts and over 1.2 million votes. He dragged Abbott down who lost by 7.
The difference show Paxton was truly a horrible candidate that lost a ton of R votes and got trounced by Indies.

Trump shoud have backed Norman in the SC race.
He should have backed Cornyn in TX.
The problem with wave elections is that any close contests and any bad candidates won’t survive.
If you look at the county arrow shifts towards the Dems, they shifted left in just about every county in America.
What worries me is that normally I would say the Dems will probably misinterpret the hand they were dealt, that the country really wants socialism.
But I am not so sure anymore that it would be a misinterpretation.

Paxton was a horrible candidate and I voted for Cornyn in the primary because of that. However, let’s be honest. Cornyn would have been washed away in this wave as well. When you barely squeak out a win in the Florida Senate race vs an admitted socialist, lose senate races in SC, and Mississippi? Come on. Here in Texas we now have a Democratic House, Dem governor, lt governor, attorney general….every statewide office. Total wipe out.

Despite Bitter’s silly theory that Trump is always responsible for R losses but never responsible for R wins, the election was about gas prices, grocery prices and the Iran war. It wasn’t about ICE, abortion, transgender rights, gun control etc although many of the Dems will see it that way.
Washington and Colorado passed initiatives separating boys and girls sports. So did AZ. These states all went big for Dem candidates. WA is close to giving the Dem legislature a super majority.
The evidence is that Rs lost or came close to losing in places where he is still popular. The R vote was down across the board even in solid red areas.
Sure you can argue that the buck stops with Trump, and he vastly underestimated the impact of high prices, the exit polls showed the economy was far and away the number one issue.
It’s the economy, stupid, was proven once again.

The only hope the GOP has going forward is for Rubio to resign in January and admit the failures gradually in the next several months and have an agenda that addresses the Corrupt Woke Commie Dems that relates with younger generations concerns and begin running a shadow campaign and begin gathering a coalition for 2028. He is the best communicator and has charisma. Vance is smart and likable but more in the RDS mold. I doubt any candidate would want Trumps endorsement now. MAGA needs a facelift.
