It is of course much more likely the 11 other jurors are the ones with bias and hidden agendas. It would be very difficult to convene a jury in MA that would be unbiased. Hold this trial in most places in Texas and she would get the death penalty she deserves.
They ignored the fact that NONE of the testimony of the psychiatrists that treated her indicated they deemed her insane or even psychotic, not to mention the prosecution experts that testified she knew right from wrong and was criminally responsible.
Insanity is not determined by pink clad demonstrators, paid political hacks, defense counsel, friends of the accused and CNN talking heads. There was absolute ZERO diagnosis or even suspicion of insanity prior to the murders that came up in trial. The only defense was that she was a victim of an uncaring society and therefore justified in committing murder. She was. crazy like a fox in her meticulous and researched planning on how she could kill the children.
Unfortunately this jury was not sequestered so it was subject to 24/7 bombardment suggesting this cold blooded monster who committed premeditated murder in the most cruel way possible was the victim rather than the perpetrator.

During Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial, multiple mental health professionals who treated her testified that they did not observe signs of psychosis or severe detachment from reality during their sessions prior to the January 2023 killings.
Testimony from Treating Clinicians
- Dr. Jennifer Tufts: Clancy’s outpatient provider for over a dozen sessions spanning five months testified that Clancy never displayed psychotic symptoms during their care. As reported by the BBC, “Jennifer Tufts, who treated Clancy during more than a dozen sessions over five months, testified that she had not shown signs of psychosis“.”
- Dr. Alia Goodheart: An inpatient psychiatrist who evaluated Clancy during a brief stay also stated she observed no psychotic behavior. As noted by ABC News, Dr. Goodheart testified, “I did not have any concerns about her safety or her risk for anybody else.”

If we have reached the point where society approves of tricking a little boy into getting his privates cut off, forever sterlizing him, then why would anyone be bothered by giving this woman the death penalty?
If she wasn’t insane, she deservers the death penalty. If she was insane, then she is a danger to everyone around her as she could kill again in her insanity, so for the safety of society she should be put down.
That line of reasoning much more sensible than tricking boys into receiving what ancient empires only did to little boys captured from enemy cities after being victorious in battle.

Dr. Saathoff testified that the details surrounding the tragedy did not align with a typical psychotic episode. He pointed out that Clancy had not previously reported auditory hallucinations before the day of the killings.
The Voice: He noted it was highly unusual for someone experiencing true psychosis to hear a command voice only one time, which then completely stopped once the act of strangulation was finished. “Is it typical for someone in psychosis to hear a voice only one time, never before and never after?” asked Plymouth Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague. “No,” Saathoff repliedInconsistencies in Her Story: He pointed out multiple discrepancies regarding exactly when the alleged voice began and what it told her.
An “Unusual” Timeline: Dr. Saathoff noted that it is highly atypical for someone experiencing true psychosis to hear a severe command hallucination only on the exact day of the crime, with absolutely no occurrences before or after the event
The Command Content: Clancy claimed a male voice repeatedly told her, “This is your last chance. You have to kill your kids and then kill yourself,” Dr. Saathoff testified that the nature of this hallucination was highly unusual for genuine psychotic episodes.”‘This guys is senior psychiatrist to the FBI’s Academy’s Behavior Analysis Unit and forensic psychiatry professor at UVA for 18 years. Professor at University of Virginia School of Medicine who provides Teaching, Research, Clinical Care and Consultation within Federal and State Agencies.
Maybe John Goggin can explain why he would need to lie about his Clancy evaluation.

It’s all the same society.
It’s the society where a demonstrably SANE woman carefully plans and executes the murder of her 3 little children and then has “supporters” chanting for her outside the courtroom.
It’s the same society that instead of seeking justice for the innocent victims, makes HER the victim instead.
It’s the same society that absolves her from any personal responsibility for her actions, and instead lays blame elsewhere. Her doctors, her drugs, her husband, etc. Everyone is at fault except the murderer herself.
It’s the same society people throw themselves at ICE vehicles, try to run over ICE agents, take guns to ICE protests, etc. to prevent illegal criminals from being deported.
Its the same society where women are committed to ensuring the “right” to kill a perfectly viable 9 month old fetus.
I could go on, but you get the picture.

I don’t know if it was mentioned throughout the lengthy argy-bargy, but one thing we don’t see when men kill their children (or even the spouses) is groups of men showing up in the public square or worse, in the courtrooms themselves, in solidarity with the defendants. If anything, we show up to condemn them and offer to put a bullet between their eyes ourselves. Modern women show up to push for acquittal, and will happily (and illegally) intimidate jurors if given the opportunity. That’s the key difference between the actors in the broader discourse over this sad situation.

Off topic, anyone here been to Memphis? It’s 100F today, and I don’t know if I feel like leaving my air conditioned hotel unless there is something really worthwhile to see. Memphis Belle has sadly been taken from the city and moved to the flight museum in Dayton, OH, so I’m short of options outside of consuming local bbq and spirits.

Put another way, imagine teaching English to some guy who grew up in a tribal setting and the guy had never heard of the United States or anything outside of his tribe.
So you teach him English, and teach him basics about the world in which he lives, and then you ask the guy the question.
Which of these two things would you believe goes on in the United States of America, supposedly the greatest country in the world:
a) Bad actors trick little boys into getting their privates cut off, and society approves of it.
b) People who are mentally insane and then kill others are put down for the safety of society.The guy is going to pick B, and be shocked to learn the answer is A.

Jason acts like he watched every minute of the 7 week trial. I was not impressed with the expert witnesses of either side. I think the retrial will be much shorter with less evidence on the children. Less of their pajamas. Keep the autopsy photos of their necks. I suspect that the prosecution will not be giving Clancy as many chances to cry and need recesses when seeing photos of the victims and hearing about the autopsies. Maybe it was real. Maybe it wasn’t but it humanized her to those jurors wanting an excuse to find her human despite what she did.

But I agree with Bitter that the prosecution should have learned a lot of lessons. Starting with only have 25% men on the jury.
And I think they need to make clearer to the jury what the insanity defense is about and what it isn’t about. They need to make clearer the fact this woman had zero history of insanity or psychosis despite having been evaluated by various doctors. They need to emphasize that “hearing voices that make you kill your children” as an isolated incident is highly unlikely.
The prosecution needs to keep the trial focused on the perpetrator and the victims. They let the trial become transformed whereby Clancy became the victim and society became the perpetrator. They also need to focus more on the premeditation and preparation aspect, which flies contrary to the “suddenly a voice told me to kill”. They need to show these murders were not a “psychotic moment” but a meticulously planned event.
Unfortunately, the other dynamics such as the woke location, woke judge, woke jury pool, woke coverage (which influences the jury) etc will still exist, so prediction of a free pass still stands.

Halifax: after breakfast this morning, we explored the harbor boardwalk area.Very nice, lots to see, lots of shops and restaurants.
Local boys fishing off the boardwalk and bringing in a lot of mackerel. Almost no graffiti, no homeless people visible.
Friendly place.
This afternoon we visited Halifax Gardens. Possibly the last remaining Victorian garden left in the world. Very attractive flower beds and displays. Also lots of interesting old trees like gingko, English weeping beech, sun of a beech, etc.
Dinner this evening at 6… [7 p.m. Eastern standard east coast time].
Tomorrow the tour will visit the citadel and maritime museum

A 7 or 8 point lead if accurate means both houses Democratic. That would be a disaster.
Good news is that Trump has the veto pen…..for two years.
Why a disaster you ask? 2028 a Democratic win at the presidential level means:
- Filibuster will be done away with.
- Borders will be reopened
- Supreme Court will be packed
- DC and Puerto Rico become states
- Four more permanent Democratic senators
- There will be no Supreme Court guard rails left to prevent on any of this from going down.
- Democrats have made no secret of any of the above.
- Once the above is done there is no going back.
You can see this all coming from a mile away.
Better not lose the Senate in November.

As Labor Day comes to a close for 2026 I’m baffled by the scheduling of the 2026 Republican midterm convention. Planned for this Wednesday and Thursday, and slated to have Trump, Vance and others from the Trump Administration as well as over 100 Republican leaders comes the same night the NFL is set to open the 2026 season. Already on tap is the renewal of the Super Bowl teams of the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. Then on Thursday is the SF 49ers against the LA Rams from Australia.
NFL have waited over seven months for this. Couldn’t the RNC have waited until next Wednesday or Thursday to get the maximum audience for this?
Just seems this was poorly timed.
