“Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Rocco Gagliardi said Heintz and Royce Moser had met outside Moser’s father’s home in North Strabane Township to discuss the future of their relationship.
Investigators allege the conversation deteriorated.
According to police, Moser became angry, went inside the residence, retrieved a large kitchen knife, returned to the Jeep, and stabbed Heintz in the chest.
The criminal complaint says Moser allegedly told Heintz, “Wait, I have something for you,” before going inside for the knife.
Heintz fell from the vehicle after she was stabbed, police said. Moser allegedly picked her up, placed her in the Jeep’s rear cargo area, and drove away.
He went to his mother’s house in Beallsville.
Police allege Royce told Rachel Moser what he had done after arriving at her home.
What followed forms much of the case against her.
“They try to clean clothes, they try to clean the car up, they try to get rid of any bloodstains,” Gagliardi said during a state police news conference, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
Investigators allege Rachel attempted to clean the Jeep with disinfectant spray and provided her son with latex gloves.
The criminal complaint also says she told him to take a bath and then shower, had him change his clothes, and washed the clothing.
Police say the knife was dealt with separately.
Royce allegedly told investigators his mother placed the knife in a garbage bag so it could be put in the trash outside her house.
Investigators later searched the garbage and reported finding a knife in a bag matching the description he had provided.
The Jeep still had to be moved.
According to the criminal complaint, Royce drove Heintz’s Jeep toward California Borough while Rachel followed in another vehicle.
Police allege they left the Jeep near the library with Heintz still inside, then returned together to Rachel’s home in her vehicle.”

This woman learned a lot about cleaning up crime scenes from TV shows. She told her son to take a shower, get out of his clothes and put them in the washer. She threw the knife in the trash so the police would never find it. She cleaned up (some) of the blood with home cleaning products. She hid the car with the body in the library parking lot (perhaps because she could later allege “my son never went near a library in his life).
But sometimes even perfect crimes don’t work out.

Contrary to what moron Paul alleged many times here, it looks like the prosecution is building a case that proves Comey knew exactly what the seashells spelled before he posted the picture and what’s more, it was all premeditated.
At the time, I stated here that I thought the prosecution probably had witnesses that would support that theory that were presented to the grand jury.

This case is a hard sell to the jury if it is limited to “Comey finds seashells and posts it, KNOWING WHAT IS WAS and INTENDING TO ADVOCATE FOR HARM TO THE PRESIDENT”.
If that was all they had, proving intent was an uphill battle.
But if the prosecution can prove it was a premeditated set up, that Comey arranged the seashells as a planned stunt, then it might be possible to convince the jury that indeed it was INTENDED as a call for “removing” the President by violent means.
We will see.

The Lindsay Clancy trial is expected to have final arguments this week-then it goes to the jury.
Prediction-this case already has a legal precedent. It is the Andrea Yates case a quarter of the century ago. And Yates is still in a mental hospital.
I believe that the jury will find Lindsay Clancy ‘not criminally responsible’ and ‘not guilty by reason of insanity’ but will be committed to a maximum security state mental hospital.

That being said, if the average is 3 points or less for the Dems right before the election, I doubt the Dems win the House or the Senate.
If its 4 or more they lose the House, 6 or more they lose the Senate.

That’s a good point, DW; if a large proportion of data points all skew one way, even slightly, it pulls the line of best fit in that direction i.e. in this instance, a single data point is noise, but a fair number of them all doing the same likely represents movement in the same direction.
Of course, I won’t get too excited until I see a six to eight week trend of about three points, just to be safe.

I agree with John Goggin that Clancy will beat the rap, unfortunately. The prosecution’s rebuttal shows that NO ONE, including family, doctors, co-workers, etc. considered Clancy insane and she was perfectly functional up to the day she killed her children. But I doubt you will get a unanimous vote to convict her, there will be people like Bitter who will eat up the “she killed her kids, she has to be crazy” BS.
Her children will still be dead and her husband will still live with the consequences of losing 3 children murdered by their mother in cold blood.
Whether she will be committed to “maximum security” mental hospital is up for debate. In the first place there is no mandatory “life” sentence, you can get out if the shrinks decide you are no longer a threat to society. Second, these institutions are very different from prisons. The are designed to look like “campuses”, not prisons. You wear civilian clothes, your visitors can come in and see you and hug you, the food is a lot better, the rules a lot laxer, and there are a myriad of activities and events to participate in.

Maybe she will be in for 5 or 10 years, but she will be let out, bet on it.

Well, Lindsay Clancy was reaching out for help way back in 2022. She was given several medications from the South Shore Health Perinatal Behavior Health Program and was seeing a pyschiatric nurse practitioner for therapy. She told her mother-in-law and husband her voices and delusions. She told her sister the same. She told anyone who would listen she had thoughts of killing her children then herself before she did what she did.
She checked herself in a psychiatric hospital a few days before the killings.
Translation….her family and professionals that could have helped her didn’t.
Lindsay Clancy did what she did and will have to carry that with her the rest of her life.

I have deposed dozens of doctors. I routinely take the deposition of one board certified orthopedic surgeon who says somebody is fully recovered, requires no treatment, and go back to as a fire fighter or teacher or whatever. Then their board certified orthopedic surgeon says they are not recovered, require surgery and can’t work. Each doctor gets $5,000 to testify for one hour.

What is going on with the AL this year? Forget Toronto, they’ve struggled from the start despite the big wins last Fall. I count only four AL teams at or above .500, and three of them are in the AL East (the White Sox are just three games above .500). Lindsey Clancy apparently had a nanny for the first 2 children. After the 3rd one was born she decided to give up her career as a labor & delivery nurse, staying home with her children. Her husband worked out of their home. Both her family and in-laws lived close by. IOW, Clancy had more support around her than most mothers.
While I truly believe her mental health doctors should be held for some kind of malfeasance or malpractice in over- medicating her, Lindsey seemed to have forethought in murdering her kids by choosing how she could be alone with them for an hour to accomplish the horrendous deed. Basically, I think she was sane, but will probably be found not to be criminally accountable for strangling her children. Furthermore, if she considered her act to be “saving” her children, why did she kill them in such a painful way, where they consciously saw each other die at the hands of their mother?

I never said mental illness or post partum depression didn’t exist.
What I said was the insanity defense is being bastardized, it was not designed to give free passes to people who commit horrible crimes and want to blame others for it. It was designed for people certifiably insane, not people whose lawyer claim they are insane. There was not ONE iota of evidence presented in court by anyone who had contact with this woman or treated her that suggested she was insane.
This woman committed premeditated murder. She organized it. She got rid of her husband on false pretenses so she could go ahead and kill her children. It’s not society’s fault, the “system’s fault”, the shrink’s fault, the medication’s fault. She chose to consciously murder her children. Period.
Depression does not justify this crime. The prosecution expert had no ax to grind. He is a renowned doctor and U Penn professor who doesn’t need to promote himself in court and doesn’t need $5000.

NY Times lost a jury court case and now has to pay out $9,25MM to a WV gut.
Seems that 3 years ago some Alanama college basketball players were in a car and one of them shit and killed someone. The NYT reported that this guy (a basketball player who is the son of the AD at Marshall University and who wad at school in Alabama) was in the car with the bb player who did the shooting. In reality, he HAD been with this group earlier, but was not in the car with them when the shooting went down. He later transferred back to WV at Marshall University.
I find it bizarre that a jury would award him $9.25 MM just for being wrongly placed in the car with the others when he was not in the car with the others.

I say lots of things have to be determined in each case.
