From the prior thread;
“I’d be ok with troops on Kharg Island to seize the oil terminal; without that facility, Iran is screwed.
Bitter, I tried to write the other day, but my phone keeps locking me out of WordPress (or vice versa). Hope you are enjoying Juneau. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to stop in Homer as well; they have ice cream right on the pier!”

If we were going to seize Kharg Island it would have been done months ago. The MFs in Teran know Trump won’t do it, especially now. Oil prices would go through the roof with the midterms coming up. To say nothing of the casualties. Trump’s buying into their “we badly want to make a deal” BS and granting Iran a ten week pause in military pressure was a catastrophic mistake. They now have us right where they want us. They know it, and despite all his bravado, Trump knows it. It opens the door to a Republican electoral disaster in November. That will be horrible for the country.

🚨 UPDATE — LARRY KUDLOW rips Senate GOP leadership to Sen. Lankford’s face: “Right now, YOU, the leadership are BUNGLING EVERYTHING! […] You’re bungling everything. NOTHING IS GETTING DONE. Your messaging is non-existent. You lost your swag. No one knows what the HECK YOU’RE DOING!”

Bombing has been gone on for 10 days now.
But Phil is still not happy.
He wants Trump to wave the magic wand and make a 50 year old complex problem go way in an instant.
Again, the idea that Trump is somehow “fooled” and “bought into” whatever blah blah blah is unmitigated trash.
There are no miracle solutions. Trump needs to stay the course and ignore the noise.

The US does not need Khargh Island. It is useless if Iran can’t use it to export oil. The blockade ensure that.
The Iranians think that if they can last until the elections somehow a Dem congress might be of help to them.
But its the wrong calculation. Once the election is over, whatever the result, Trump will have a free hand to do what he wants without regard to political consequences.

They now have us right where they want us”
This is actually hilarious.
Iran’s Ayatollah has been killed. Their senior military leadership likewise several times over. Their nuclear sites were destroyed. Their military infrastructure and military industrial capacity was severely damaged. Their navy and air force were vaporized. They have lost tens of billions in oil revenue and their economy is in shambles. Their proxies Hamas and Hezbollah have been decimated. Their political influence in the Arab world is down to about zero.
But hey, “they have us right where they want us”.
You can’t make this sh-t up.
