Platner will obviously pull out. He’s waiting to see how much the check will be cut for before he agrees to do it. He has no intention of dropping out with out being well compensated. He’s not walking away with nothing. The longer he waits and bumps up against the deadline to withdraw the more he will command. Democrats have no choice but to pay him otherwise Maine is gone for them.

All of that cannot really have happened, it must be just a racism dog whistle that only some can hear.
If you recall the story, when DeSantis ran against Gillum in 2018, the left attempted to torpedo DeSantis as a racist because when asked what he would do different from the Florida economy left by Gov. Scott, DeSantis said he would not monkey (a VERB) around with it. The left claimed that DeSantis was calling Gillum a monkey (a noun), and this manufactured scandal did some short term damage to DeSantis’ chances.

Yeah, Russian gas shortages are really biting…..and yet, Putin continues his no win war grinding up his military on a daily basis. He refuses to cut his losses when it’s been plenty obvious there is no path to victory. One wonders how much of his oil refinery capacity he’s willing to lose to Ukrainian drone attacks.
