The Clinton-Bush-Obama-ABC-NBC-CNN-MSNOW-NYT coalition is freaking out today. They all wanted Cornyn to win in Texas. Why? The answer explains everything.

Bitter, I am not as convinced it its true that Paxton will have a more difficult time or that the GOP will have to spend more money to win TX. I could be wrong, but my instincts tell me that it really probably would work out about the same. And this is from someone who was hoping Cornyn would hold on and advance to the general.
a) Polling showed over and over how the difference between Cornyn vs Fruitcake and Paxton vs Fruitcake was negligible.
b) I am not sure the kind of baggage Paxton has will matter as much as it used to matter 25 or more years ago.
c) Despite all the fighting between Paxton and Cornyn and their camps, Fruitcake couldn’t pull out into any sort of substantial lead in the polling, meaning he has already been at his high water mark.
d) Cornyn immediately endorsing Paxton will help unify the GOP.
e) Any true “independent” in Texas will not be warmed by the thought of a gun-grabbing, no beef eating, open border, six gender nut who believes children should be trans-ed out of their genitals.
f) Fruitcake comes off as a sanctimonious, arrogant, pompous, condescending sort of person who thinks the people he speaks to are always more stupid than himself. This was illustrated by his immediate reaction to Paxton’s win, when he “welcomed” Cornyn supporters to his campaign, as though they were that stupid.
I would expect in the end a high-single digits or low double-digit win by Paxton in November. About what Cornyn would have gotten.

I don’t see how Paxton does better than Cornyn against Talarico, that would defy all logic unless you buy into the theory that the deadenders would not vote for Cornyn in higher numbers number than Indies who would vote for Cornyn but not for Paxton.
Again, Talarico is a horrible candidate and ANY R should be able to beat him.
Still, I would have taken the sure bet on Cornyn.
Polymarket says the race is 53-47.
I bet had Cornyn won it would be more like 85-15.

Nah. James Talarico preaches a false Christianity.
https://mereorthodoxy.com/james-talaricos-gospel/
Mr. Talarico has said that the conversation between the angel Gabriel and Mary (Annunciation) proves the biblical justification of abortion rights.
Mr. Talarico stated in a sermon from the Gospel of Thomas, a book not in the King James Bible, to support his belief that Jesus was a feminist.
And of course, according to Mr. Talarico that God in nonbinary. This is just some of his beliefs.
He has already spread his falsehoods while speaking at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Austin, Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lubbock, the University United Methodist Church in Austin.
James Talarico preaches a false Christianity thus has become a false prophet.

So would I, had I lived in Texas so I could vote.
I didn’t say Paxton would do better, I said about the same…which is what the polling has shown.
Often there are statewide candidates who have one belief/policy position that is out of alignment with that state. Sometimes they have to fight against a belief/policy position that is REALLY out of alignment with the state.
Fruitcake has THREE that are really out of step, No guns, No beef, Open border with welcome mat. Those three alone should easily sink him in Texas. And then there is the six genders, Jesus loves abortion, removing genitals from kids, and so on.

Sure John, but my point still stands, because he doesn’t preach his false Christianity with any sort of humility. He is a false prophet, sure. But for listeners who do not embrace Christianity he sounds like an arrogant blowhard, wise in his own eyes and condescending. A self-appointed expert who has finally figured out “Christianity” after 2000 years of stupid people have failed to do so.

Yet tearing the other guy down may drive up his negatives, but it doesn’t increase your positives, that has been proven many times over in elections.

Paxton has huge structural advantages. Red state, incumbent, R machine in TX.
This should not be close.
Rs are going to spend a lot of money to elect Paxton. In my view, it would have cost like 3 times less to elect Cornyn.

Once again Paul spoke first before educating himself. Just a simple AI search returns this:
“James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Texas, said Americans need to reduce their meat consumption to fight climate change and pledged that his local reelection campaign would only buy products from vegan businesses.”
Of course now that he is the nominee he is trying to walk that back, but that’s where his heart is…its what he believes. Trying to say otherwise now is simply his attempt to avoid his past to fool enough voters and win an election.

Not surprising.
Paxton is a weaker candidate than Cornyn for the GE.
The Paxton crowd can talk themselves blue in the face that it isn’t, but he has much more baggage and is less popular with a majority of Texas voters than Cornyn was, so deal with it.
Paul’s defense of Talarico is that he is a liar.

Many who rent an apartment or live in subsidized housing do not own a vehicle so they pay no property tax on a car. NY guess us the number of foresters with a vehicle are 4,000 or 5,000.

The Pentagon has just released some previously classified UFO (UAP) files and videos, one in particular showing infared footage from 2023 over Lake Huron that appears to show a US F-16 shooting down a diamond shape object.
My question is if this was actually true….
Was the diamond shaped object identified? Was it deemed a threat? Was there communication from the pilot to object to identify itself? And who authorized the shooting down of the object?
There’s got to be documentation, evidence, a record of account or some kind of paper trail for this.
It might not be a good idea to provoke an intergalatic war with something we can’t identify or communicate with.

Paxton crushed Cornyn in the primary with significantly less funding – said to be 9-1. Paxton already said he expects little to no help from the DC establishment, depending, like he did in the primary, on private donations and the get-out-the-vote work done by volunteers. Had Cornyn won, he would have been the one to cost republicans tons of money, as the grass roots volunteers would have disappeared. Also, the baggage others are always loading him down with will be offset by his work with helping groups aiding trafficked women/children, being behind the opening of the 1st detransitioning clinic in the country, and filing multiple lawsuits during Biden’s term to thwart some of his horrific policies. What has Cornyn ever done during his 24 years in congress, other than being a good partner to establishment republicans?

The hate being expressed is from establishment republicans like Cornyn and Thune. Cornyn was the one running an expensive hateful campaign against Paxton. Thune, OTOH, didn’t listen to his Republican constituency who wanted bills passed that would help the integrity of our elections. Thune also stonewalled the president’s appointments by refusing to let any recess appointments happen. The MAGA movement is responsive to the people, which is why it’s comprised of volunteers vs the elite donor class. Again, it’s David vs Goliath type of confrontation that’s going on, between powerful Republican leaders and those who want something more than empty words and promises never honored.

The FBI seized the gold bars from Rush’s home, as well as about $2 million in cash and 35 Rolexes and other luxury watches, Johnson wrote. But the current charge that Rush faces isn’t related to the gold or money seized at his home.”
