this texas poll was done by Public Policy Research and Survey Center, not to be confused with Public Policy Polling (D). The university is Texas Southern. I have no record of either the pollster or the school doing a poll before.

Change Research (D) has Cooper leading NC race by 7 over Whatley. Their prior poll it was +10, so at least moving in a good direction.

Baris is about as good a pollster as there is. I’m going by his past record. It’s as good as there is. I have no doubt the race in Kentucky is razor thin.

Baris has had some good numbers….in good GOP cycles. He shows his work about as uch as Cahaly at Trafalgar does, and the two overlap; in 2024, they were both pretty good. In 2022, not so much.

Cornyn has lost the grass roots in Texas. I think losing this group is a bigger negative dynamic than someone having “baggage” like Paxton. Plus, Paxton has made recent points by going after and winning some affirmative care issues.

I’m concerned about Trump’s approval numbers being in the 30’s. Some of the latest generic polling is favoring the Dems over the republicans, indicating the flurry of redistricting may not be helping republicans as much as they had hoped. Also, as a side note, I don’t think Trump’s brutal Truth Social comments, tearing down,Massie, Boubart and others, helps Trump’s presidential image. I’m kind of sick of him doing this. Plus, I was disappointed in his comments, post China trip, about brushing off the 500,000 Chinese students enrolled here, or the farm land grabs being made by the Chinese.

Phil, I also find Trump’s Iranian threats are beginning to appear like a paper tiger, having little substance behind those threats. Finally, strategic planning in taking on Cuba seems to be advancing. It would be insane, to me, to take on another “war.”

I live on the west side of Los Angeles, CA. I always thought my awareness of the problems here was current. But, this weekend, while listening to a local news report, detailing how the suffering of small business owners has grown, I was jolted out of my naïveté when the number of restaurants etc. were cited as going out of business. If this economy doesn’t pick up, if gas prices don’t either stabilize or improve, I think the Republican Party is going to be in trouble when mid terms roll around. Hope I’m wrong…..

I do blame Newsom and the Dems for the high taxes, strangling regulations, $7 a gallon gas prices. However, here in CA liberal voters are infected with TDS, and label everything bad as “Trump’s fault.” I factually dispute their claims on local neighborhood blogs, and have been suspended 3 times by the moderators for doing so. Bottom line, the poor economy is attributed to Trump policies.

Rather than shut down their oil wells because of lack of storage, Iran is now dumping their oil into the sea creating an environmental disaster. I was afraid they might do this. Well, how about it, Mr. President? Shall we continue these endless circular negotiations that go nowhere as the stalling continues and they play their games? If they planned to make a deal would they be dumping their oil into the Persian Gulf?
Start killing their leaders again. Masad has had a month to gather intelligence on where they are. Just do it. Open the strait for God’s sake. What have you been waiting for? Iran has established a new body called the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority” designed as the official legal entity overseeing transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
Well, why the hell not. They control transit through the strait anyway. Why not just formalize it? No word yet on their toll schedule. If POTUS is to be believed, the Saudis and other regional partners asked him to hold off for a few days as they sensed a deal was near. Just ten years ago, I would not have trusted the Sunnis, but they all have skin in the game now and are willing to work at least tacitly alongside Israel, so I am wiling to hear them out.

The problem is the price point for his gimmick is 50 cents per unit, while the store bought cost is around sixteen cents per diaper. Earlier he tried to push hearing aids. After 5 years it came up as a money laundering venture.

Got a text at bridge today from a gal who had secretly contacted me when at the beach in NC that she was nomatimg my wife for the Women Of Distinction Award this year. I texted her back the info she was asking for, Bio of wife, etc.
the woman is a former student of my wife 40 some years ago and she abd her husband are both outstanding in the community
She texted me today today that the wife was indeed one of the 3 women in this 3 county area (combined pop.of about 300,000) that were selected to recieve this award in October.
The Girl Scouts organization in this region does this every year.
Happy for my wife to get this recognition.
